The Mustard Seed Restaurant

Everthing came late and had to remind our server for sparkling water, bread and one of our drinks (45 minutes after ordered). Service was extremely rushed, order everything at one time - no problem, however we waited over an hour for our food. Rib eye was ordered medium rare and served raw. Venison was ordered medium rare and came cooked much more. We brought to managers attention who had new orders done. Venison was now rare to raw and the tri-tip came a bit more cooked, however was still raw in the middle. I hope they can fix their issues, as they are many from both the front and back of house.

Superb birthday lunch - amazing food & impeccable service (by Donna). Had the 2 course lunch special (ricotta mouse entree, sea bass main - melt in your mouth!) & desert (lemon lime cheesecake - to die for). 10/10 for each course.

Great service - we had lots of changes of numbers & choices of menu & they coped very well! All of us happy with food & service very good.

Had a very pleasant time at The Mustard Seed. Food did not disappoint. A loud group of people sittign next to us did make the experience a tad bit less enjoyable, but not sure anyone in the restaurant could help with that, as we were isolated already to the side of the entrance hall. Had a minor mistake in my drink order but nothing major. Would definitely come back and recommend it to friends.

Would highly recommend this as a stop in Inverness. The food was incredible as was the team and service.

The food was not so flavorful but the desserts were good.

Server was young and less than enthused. Meal took 40 mins to arrive which is highly unusual for Mustard Seed in our experience and we ended up having to rush. People ordering after us seemed to be getting served. Not sure what issue was as server never engaged.

Really enjoyed our meal. Glad we had a reservation as many walk-ins were turned away. Portions sizes were good. Pace of meal was a bit fast but we know it is the weekend and you were very busy. We certainly didn’t feel rushed, but we also felt we couldn’t linger at all.

We travelled up from Ellon to have lunch on my birthday with my son and daughter in law. We had been at Mustard Seed previously and it was fantastic. However, on this occasion we were disappointed. My son and I had roast beef but unfortunately beef was so tough that we could hardly cut it with a sharp steak knife. The manager made an adjustment on the bill but I would much rather have had a meal that was up to their previous standards.

We thank the staff for moving us upstairs away from 2 big noisy groups. It was a nicer area for us.. food was very good and service was fine,.

The staff were lovely, food amazing. Our favourite restaurant when we visit Inverness. It was my husband's birthday and they brought out an ice cream with a huge sparkler in it. The ice cream was delicious too. Thanks for a great night x

We often have lunch and less often, an early evening meal at the Mustard Seed. It has always been an excellent experience with a lovey ambience and lovely food representing great value.

The mussels were not as clean as they should have been, the Venison and Duck were a touch over cooked and the Pomme Puree was not as advertised it was Mashed Potatoes. Flavours excellent, execution a little wayward.

Food was exceptional, service first class, would use loyalty card if l was a resident of Inverness.

I booked for lunch and whilst the food was well cooked and really delicious the majority of choices on the Lunch Menu were very 'heavy' (lots of cream dishes, heavy potato accompaniments too). A big green salad was not evident, or small portions were not an option.

We are in Inverness about twice a year, always make sure we have time for a Mustard Seed eat. Excellent value, interesting menu, prompt friendly service. Can be noisy sometimes, much prefer sitting upstairs. See you again soon, thanks

We thought the service was very good. The salads and fish pie were delicious! However, the mushy peas were a bit dry and not the best we’ve had.

Whilst visiting the area for an overnight stay this restaurant was recommended to us from our car rental company. So glad it was a great experience restaurant was great and the food was delicious.

The wife and I visited the mustard seed inverness on the 24th of June I don't think I would be stretching a point in saying it was absolutely fantastic. The food was great, the atmosphere was very good and the staff went above and beyond. It was far and away one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I will go again.
