We meet amazing people out of the North-ouest vlast of Scotland and people of Syria; we had a very Nice talk with them, enjoying a delicious meal.

We were disappointed. The recommendation wasn't fulfilled. The cozy atmosphere was missing. The food wasn't as good as expected. The salmon was overcooked, not seasoned, and the chicken was dry and tough.

I was really excited to visit the Mustard Seed again after 10 years (I'm not local), I had specifically planned to return and included in my resevation my excitement to return. Unfortunately, as a lone diner I was stuck up a corner in an annex to the main resturant on a wobbly table - it made me feel more isolated as a lone diner, it also removed me to the atmosphere of the resturant and removed any opportunity of enjoyment of the architecture of the main building (it was busy, and when I arrived my table wasn't ready, so I didn't feel I could ask to be moved). I had also noted that I had a fish and seafood allergy, but was told the specials, all of which were fish and seafood, which made me feel they hadn't read my resevation note and also wasted the staff's time on a busy evening. I ordered the truffles, which were presented as three battered mushrooms (I doubt they were truffles) around a huge piece of polenta which felt like a stodgy distraction. My main was the beetroot and goat cheese risotto, which again was stodgy - with how great my original experience of the mustard seed had been I had expected a beautiful delicate meal, but instead I was served a huge plate of bright pink risotto with a large amount of green garnish on top. It would have been much more attractive and managable (I think for most people) to receive half the size of the portion with the rest of the bowl delicately dressed in garnish - as the Mustard Seed are good at presentation from the other plates I saw delivered to nearby tables. My drink of lemon and lime also wasn't served until my main arrived, I had wondered whether it had been forgotted. I didn't stay for dessert as I felt I'd experienced enough dissapointment for the visit. The staff were generally pleasant, but I won't be planning a trip to the Mustard Seed again if I find myself in Inverness. I do wish them the best of luck for the future.

From start to finish we had a delicious meal. Our server Bridget, a woman of few words, was not the most helpful. However, the server assistant, Rachael, was an delight and made our evening special.

Lovely staff, young lady knew exactly when we needed assistance & when to leave us to eat our meal, think her name began with a B? Lovely young lad was duty manager & made the right amount of small talk , very professional. Food delicious as always, I had the panko black pudding followed by chicken breast, my dining guest had Caesar salad followed by the lamb sausages, all choices delicious. Washed down with a bottle of El Niño Paper red wine Whole meal excellent value for money Two repeat customers

I was visiting by myself, here in inverness for a couple of days, a lady on her own ,Hubby left at home, just having a few days to myself I always have a visit to mustard Seed, shall be back in october

We were disappointed to be seated in a small bare room off to the side of the beautiful dining room. It had literally no atmosphere. Fake flowers and a couple hand mirrors hanging on hooks on the wall. Very strange. Totally different feel than the beautiful dining room we hoped to enjoy. If you go, avoid this room. The food was good and service pleasant.

Food was delicious . Manager was able to move us to a better table. We so appreciated it!

My sister and I had a delightful dinner at The Mustard Seed. The early dinner menu offers fun, tasty, and nicely presented dishes. I like the restaurant's ambiance. I wish we were staying in Inverness longer in order to enjoy another meal.

Indifferent service, never checked back or refilled water. Waitress only spoke to my husband. Fish cakes like something frozen. Disappointing.

At least of the menu options were unavailable which was disappointing as they had been my first choices.

Went to the Mustard Seed while passing through Inverness on my birthday! My parents were visiting from our of the country and we all really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!

The Mustard Seed is a very attractive restaurant with some lovely views of the river from the upper floor. Our main courses were venison and salmon, both were very nice. Crème brûlée and cheesecake finished off the meal. Service was friendly, yet unobtrusive. I would definitely recommend The Mustard Seed.

Great food - we had the steaks on the regular menu and they were cooked perfectly. Staff efficient .. guy behind bar was very helpful when we first arrived despite him looking very busy

Food was excellent. The server did an amazing job trying to take care of so many tables at one time. As we were finishing a table of 18 were seated - all men and it overwhelmed the staff and ambience. First time I have eaten there and the food exceeded my expectations.

The restaurant was very busy and quite loud. Food took awhile to be delivered, leading to long waits between courses. On more than one course I received a poorly cleaned plate and silverware. The food was good, but I’m not sure I would go back.

I am a fairly regular diner and I did not enjoy the new menu choice for lunch today. Many of the starters included salad which one of the party can not take. I took the chicken and the green beans were very undercooked.

All was excellent. Just sorry we were there at the time of a noisy party! It was tricky then to hear my friends across the table. Apart from that it was a lovely visit and we will be there again soon.

We were received promptly even though early for our reservations. The staff was attentive and helpful as well. The food was very tasty!
