The New Inn has a totally changed menu and ownership. Gone downhill badly.

No atmosphere, pub was completely empty at Sunday lunchtime. Food was awful, 5 out of 7 of us barely touched our meals. Avoid at all costs!

Great food and atmosphere, reasonable as well. Easy to get to with really pleasant staff, clean, tidy, good choice on menu, would recommend if you're in the area.

Website shows a great and varied menu, reality nothing like! Shown table for food, not set. After 10 mins went to ask for food and wine menus, given a sheet of paper with sandwiches on and no wine list. Told member of staff this is not what the website shows, she said the menu is ‘being updated’ i Do not think it is acceptable to advertise a food service on a website which invites bookings and not have the food available! I booked the table purely on the offering available. As a minimum I would expect a phone call to advise that the food offering was greatly reduced. That did not happen which shows how little regard the venue has for their customers.

Excellent dinner and super friendly service. Took my pug, Ziggy to meet Izzy, one of the resident dogs but she wasn’t there. Good excuse to come I suppose!

Having booked a table some time ago, I was surprised to be offered a "table" at a perch with very high chairs. When I said I had booked and wanted a table, I was asked if I wanted to eat at the bar. Eventually sat at a table outside. Food was fine, service ok on what was a very busy day.

Had a lovely lunch the other day! Great food, very good live music and extremely friendly service. Not necasarily the most traditional of Sunday menus but we all found something we liked!!

Was dismayed to find a vast difference between the online menu and the menu on offer on Mothers Day. Poor service, cold upon entry too.

The menu wasn’t the same as online as they only offer 4 options on Sunday and 1 was sold out! Food was good quality. Venue was casual with dogs sniffing around your feet.

Booked for lunch. Place was not busy yet they still struggled with our food order. Menu is too big and they clearly didn't have the resource to cope so the food arrived after a long wait in stages which meant we didn't all eat at the same time and some of it was overcooked. A shame as the place itself was nice and the staff were friendly and good with the kids. Live jazz was on but we were tucked around the corner so couldn't see it but sounded good. It should be a goldmine but I can see why it was quiet.

Great food but service very average. The burger and steak sandwich we had were really good but the waiter didn't seem to know what he was doing. We ordered chips as the menu didn't say they came with the meal and he didn't bother to mention that they did. We asked for a dessert menu and just got the main menu again and he seemed surprised we didn't want to order off the main again. In fairness he seemed so not with it that could have forgotten he'd already served us!

Service was prompt and very friendly and engaging; nice roast chicken Sunday lunch. Piped music was too loud, especially for a Sunday lunchtime ( there was a live band on later but we were not there by then).

Nice Georgian pub in St John's Wood. Really poor service. After booking a table, ordered lunch then waited 50 minutes to be told they'd ran out. Manager blamed the 19 year old waitress, ok she forgot about us. Training issue? (Communication issue from the kitchen? Surely they knew how many that had left when the order arrived). Then the mgr /owner told us he would discount our wine and the waitress would pay the difference. Really bad management - no responsibility taken. I didn't see him check with any of the guests or the tables in the time we were there, just blamed the waitress. Comp the wine, offer some food and deal with the staff issues quietly - your guests don't need to be told about making an example of employees or making them pay for mistakes. Made us feel very uncomfortable.

There were no high chairs which, for a place with a children's menu, is quite astonishing. There was a singer on and his microphone was too loud. We couldn't actually hear each other speak. To be far though, the food was very good.

Half of the menu unavailable on Sundays -> why not print a Sunday menu then? Food is cooked from frozen and probably not good quality (broccoli in Sunday roast was still cold inside), gravy not homemade. Puddings (brownie) was tasteless, not even sure there was any chocolate in it, texture like foam. Only good thing was entertainment (jazz singer) and draft beer. Service was not good but waiters had no idea what they were serving in wine or food, or how to serve customers. Good behind the counter to pull pints and have a chat, but that's it.

At first they could not find our reservation, I was asked 3 times for my name. It was not busy at all but service was extremely slow. I had to request milk for my tea. Staff were polite and food was very nice. I would return to give them a second chance with service.

Possibly the worst service ever - rude, aggressive and refusing to listen to our comments. Steer well clear of this place. The décor tries to be off-beat but it just looks tired. It needs freshening up and some proper management.

The food was quite good (although the Fish for the Fish & Chips was clearly from frozen). Unfortunately it was very, very noisy with loud music played the whole time. In addition there were 2 dogs (of the owners) that roamed around the restaurant looking for food (although there was a sign to say don't feed them!).

Service was very slow and food was average at best - we ordered the veggie burger and fish and chips. Also they played music that would have been more appropriate in a night club at a high volume which meant it was difficult to hold a conversation. We ate quickly and left. This pub has got it completely wrong and the staff run around like headless chickens and have poor product knowledge. I regularly g0 to Lords - this is the first and last time I would use this pub - McDonalds is more consistent!

A great little dog friendly pub in St John Wood. We had the Sunday roast which was excellent. A good selection of wines and cocktails along with beers on tap. Staff were friendly and the Sunday afternoon jazz musicians were fab! Would highly recommend.

This little gem of a breakfast spot a five minute walk from either Primrose Hill Park or St John's Wood, and very dog friendly. You are welcomed by the pub dogs but after initial greetings they settle into the background so you can enjoy your meal with friends and other dog folk alike. Really cosy ambience...leather sofas, tables, chairs, benches, heaps of space to enjoy yourself, your friends, your dog, their dogs. You get the idea. Breakfast plates are ample...lots of menu options for both the carnivore and omnivore. But don't be in a hurry when you order...this is why I rated lower because the food was a good 40 minutes from ordering. Thankfully we had two coffee rounds to keep stomachs occupied. When the food arrived the initial assumption was that it may have been cool-ish, but instead all breakfast...eggs, meat, toasts, cooked and still warm and delicious. As you would expect from any self -professed surrounding "gastro" pub. Go, enjoy, eat well, hey...bring your dog, and friends.

Cheerful service. Mediocre food at inflated prices. The pub dogs were not under control - they taunted my friend's dog to the point that we considered leaving.

The New Inn had their full menu plus a Christmas special menu available. Unusual for this time of year when many restaurants vastly reduce their menus. Food and drink was very good indeed. All ten of us were very pleased. Many thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon and evening.

The food was excellent. The choices of the food in the menu were very appealing. The chef brought what the high end of cuisine in current and modern life capital city like Budapest or Vienna should be to very heart of North London. I wish the atmosphere of the restaurant part of the place and the clothing of the staff reflects the chef's contemporary identity and philosophy to what modern restaurant should be. Thank you and best regards. Hiroshi Kato (7th April, 2016)

I was very, very disappointed with the customer service at The New Inn. And, believe me, I am one easy to please. I made a reservation for a table of 2 on the basis of the pub showing a specific football game. When we eventually got there, the staff did not even know how to put the game on. After I helped with that, I realised that something else would be on, on someone else's request. Apparently the owner was a good friend of the company of people whose opinion won, completely disregarding mine and the fact that I had driven for 30' - and my company walked for 20' - in order to specifically get to this place in order to watch the football. Complete lack of respect for the customer and I shall never step in there again. I guess one should expect this kind of 'I don't care about you' treatment at an affluent place.
