We had to cancel our first visit due to illness but rebooked for the following week. Excellent Covid restrictions in place, hand gels etc. Staff masked and as courteous as usual. Very efficient service and really terrific food. Steaks done to perfection. A really satisfying meal and excellent value. It was our first dining out evening and couldn't have been better. Thank you Team Thatch and we look forward to seeing you again.

Really good Sunday lunch perfect Chicken supreme for me, and Roast beef for me my husband, vegetables not over cooked . Only thing I didn't like was the chicken liver pate too salty and the chutney was on top of the pate better to put on the side. Lovely attentive staff all friendly and efficient. Will definitely go back.

Unfortunately the food wasn't up to the standard I expected and the menu was different to the Web edition not a great deal of choice. The staff however, were very friendly and helpful.

Food was ok, but fish was a little greasy. Staff are lovely, but they didn’t know how to do track and trace, nor did I so we didn’t do it. Thought tables were well spaced and we didn’t feel uncomfortable.

The food as always was amazing, very tasty and didnt have to wait too long for it. The table service was brilliant, really efficient and didnt have to wait long for someone to see us. Just a shame it was a little cold.

Had to wait over 45 minutes for our food. Chips overdone and burger not very hot. Ordered no dressing on my salad which came smothered in dressing! Had to wait a further 5 minutes, so not very happy.

Excellent outside area with heaters and blankets. The service was good and food arrived quickly and very nice. It was a Tuesday evening so not super busy. I would recommend this pub

For some reason the triple cooked chips were rubbish. I've had them many times before elsewhere and they were nice and fresh and plump. Unfortunately these were dry and crinkly. The rest of the food was lovely, can't fault that. Would still go again, it might have been a one off with the chips!

The old thatch is our local, we’ve had several lovely meals there including take aways through lockdown. We really want to support this local business and are willing for them to be a huge success. Maybe last night was an off night, or things are taking a while to get back in the swing of things after reopening but we were really disappointed last night. It feels like they are trying to do too many things and not doing them well. Service was really poor, and quite often there were groups of staff stood round chatting and the food was over cooked and greasy.

Very nice despite the weather - was disappointed that ‘heaters’ are only used at night ???? But blankets were available- food was lovely and worth the half hour wait

Slow service on arrival 9pm unfortunately. Waited long time for drinks. Picnic benches maybe need cushions and more effective patio heaters xx

The only reason I did not give it an excellent was the waiting time and they tried to serve our main course before we had our starters However the food was excellent.

We wanted to support the new business venture after re-opening so thought we would go along. We went last Wednesday for lunch with high expectations after what we had read. We were sorely disappointed. The starter was very nice (meat platter). Two of us had rump steak and one fish and chips. we asked for the steak to be medium and they both cam back rare. I can happily eat rare steak but this was very tough indeed so didn't really enjoy it and I left a fair amount. The other steak diner said it was the worst steak he had ever had. The fish didn't fair much better as the batter was too light. There is much better fish available elsewhere. We thought we would have a nice meal what with the starter being so good. Several plates of sandwiches were walked by, which also looked good, so we were hopeful. To make things even worse, we thought we would support the shop around the back of the pub. It had just opened. Among our things we bought some local bacon. We were going to have it a couple of days later but when the time came, to our shock, the use by date was the same date we bought it! They should check these things before selling them. It's unfair to sell provisions which will be of no use the next day. Overall very disappointing indeed. Not good food at all. I can't see us giving them another go.
