The Old Thatch

Overall we were happy with our visit... however we were never offered a dessert menu after finishing our mains and eventually had to ask ourselves. But the live music was good.

Great food and wine, friendly service. Price ok. Decor a bit rough and ready, toilets located in a funny area(they were very clean though). Live band on later in the evening meant there were quite a few people into rock music about. Dressed in black, big chunky boots which isn’t really our thing. Guess we should have checked beforehand.

Always friendly atmosphere and good quality food' would like cheaper beer and wine though!

Brilliant. The carvery was very good. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.

Really fantastic food. Since the new owners took over the food has been transformed! We went to Hot Rock Tuesday and the attention to flavour detail was just ahead of any other pub food. You have to visit!

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Delcious food and incredible home-baked bread. Will definitely come back.

The staff in the restaurant was efficient and the service was impeccable. The food and drinks we had ordered arrived at a good time during each course. Would definitely go back again just one suggestion being it was a Sunday and there was a carvery on offer. It would be interesting to have another type of dish apart from Hunters Chicken and cod (both were cooked superbly) added to the daily menu for those not interested in having the Carvery. Had black rock grill very nice sirloin disappointed with chips ,not skin on fries as stated. Customer service was excellent. Would recommend trying the black rock grill good value.

Best meal in a pub in the area. Came to the quiz night which was fun too

Took forever for drinks to arrive, starters took an hour mains not very good and sweets not good so overall not a good experience. Staff need to be more aware of customer needs especially when they have been sitting around for a long time with nothing happening.

The staff are lovely but it took an hour to get our dinner & when it came it was very average particularly the veg with was awful. Apparently there was a large table in at the same time but we had booked so no excuse. Shame as we like it here.

Food was excellent, I think we had virtually everything on the menu and everyone devoured every morsel. The children loved their pasta. The waitress joined in with happy birthday which cheered us up

Probably the best carvery we’ve visited for many a year. Fabulous rare beef, beautifully cooked vegetables. Staff are outstanding and managed to look calm and efficient despite being extremely busy (people were queuing for tables!). All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Our first time here and we will definitely be visiting again. Came for the carvery and were not disappointed, food was excellent and staff were attentive despite being very very busy

Went with friends to The Old Thatch for the first time on Tuesday night and really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the meal. Would certainly go back again
