Food was really not good, meat overcooked and very over priced
Staff were warm and welcoming. Food was amazing. Good portion size.
Mother’s Day visit . Great start with complimentary Prosecco and a little bunch of spring flowers . Excellent roast beef - melt in the mouth. Would be 5 stars but roast potatoes not piping hot. Staff very good indeed and most attentive .
Great meal, service and atmosphere. Thank you all for making Mum’s special today.
Really great food, great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff 😊
Quandoo is closing down. This is a planned, phased process and our platform remains available until 30 September 2026.
We had a lovely evening, enjoyed the pie for our main meal, staff were friendly and great we had great service
Amazing Sunday lunch, atmosphere and service! Highly recommended! Will be going again
Great location and food. Arrived before 7 pm so were able to take advantage of happy hour.
The Ox is a lovely place to eat, nice setting, pleasant surroundings and very friendly, efficient and professional staff. Food was very good, nice choice of menu and very well presented. Thank you for a lovely meal.
The female waitress was brilliant! Food was nice, served hot!
I live locally, first visit with a friend. Overall it was great, but wish I had known small appetite portions were available. The staff were friendly even though it was busy.
We visited on a Steak Night, there were only a handful of people in the restaurant but we had to wait an hour for our starters. Apparently a table of 6 people was a "big table" taking up everyone's attention. Staff had totally ignored us till we started asking where our food was about 45 mins in, then they started being lovely and apologetic. Food was nice when it came and they gave us a small discount for waiting. Ashley Cross is a great place for choice of places to eat, if The Ox is going to stand out from the others it needs to pull its socks up a bit.
Good service, good choice of food on the menu as a family of 4 we had 2 burgers, steak pie and the chicken supreme All dishes were generous, freshly cooked and good value. Good quality pub food overall. We visited on a quiet Wednesday evening would recommend
Delicious Sunday roast. Good selection of veg and also extra cauliflower cheese. Grey service.
Quiet but nice atmosphere. Tasty ho food and pleasant service.
1st time revisiting The Ox since it changed. Food and service superb. Will definitely return.
Great food and great service, perfect Sunday roast, very satisfying
We were a group of 4. There were 2 people in the bar and 2 in the restaurant. Very quiet for a Friday lunchtime. No atmosphere. The lady on duty was very nice but unfortunately the chef had been taken to hospital and they had to find a replacement. It was a very very restricted menu. One of us ordered a starter which was brought to the table at the same time as the main meal. Her main meal was a very unappetising fish finger focaccia. One of us had no problems and did enjoy his meal.I don’t eat meat and ordered the vegan burger which was then not available and I had little choice but have a salad. One of us had the oxburger which was cold. Someone should have advised me that morning about the situation and not waited till we arrived. Lovely interior, but I wonder why there were so few people there? We will not be returning any time soon.

Fabulous roast dinner, great service and a lovely ambiance. Will be back
First visit food was lovely . Service was not great we ordered drinks I had a tonic water just got brought a bottle of tonic water not in a glass with ice or lemon so I used my water glass Food came was not offered apple sauce with my pork or horseradish for the beef everyone else was offered it when their meal came . No one checked if our meal was ok half way through . Waitress looked like she didn’t want to be there We asked to see dessert menu we waited and waited it was never brought to us so we paid the bill and left . Would we go again possibly not
Wonderful staff and amazing food. Superb and will definitely be back. Thank you
Very friendly staff and the food was lovely. Would recommend.
Food was very good. We liked the round table as everyone was able to see and speak to each other. The only downside was it was a bit cold. It was a shame as we had asked for some fuel to be put on the open fire, but sadly no one came to add any logs or coal.
Service was friendly and efficient but not rushed and food was piping hot and delicious. Enjoyed by all!
Friendly staff very welcoming food was good quality great experience
Lovely food, great service. Really enjoyed the evening. Would visit again.
Food was lovely and extremely tasty.. One of the best Sunday lunches we’ve ever had.. Service was superb with very friendly and professional staff..
Roast were generally good with ehe exception of the spouts which were under cooked and not eaten. Girls service was fine. The menu I felt was a tad expensive.
Lovely atmosphere, great food. Will definitely be returning very soon
I’ve been to the newly taken over Ox Pub before and had delicious food and great service, so arranged to meet two friends I’ve not seen for some time for a mid-week catch up. The food was great, but service terrible - and we all came away with the same overall experience sadly. The bar lady was unfriendly to the point of rudeness, she did not make any eye contact or even smile. When I enquired about my pre-reserved table in the bar area (we had a dog with us) it was met with disinterest and distain - I felt I’d asked her something outrageous. There was no warmth in her ‘hospitality.’ When we went to pay at the bar after our meal she handed the terminal to us over the bar without looking at us or enquiring how our meal was. I appreciate the bar was reasonably busy with two staff on, and she may have had a bad day - but I won’t go back, which is such a disappointment as I have really enjoyed the restaurant previously.
Came for a roast on recommendation from a friend and didn’t disappoint! Definitely going again
We had a party of 9 for Sunday roast. Excellent service, food was hot and delicious. Best roast out in a long time! We would definitely recommend the Ox
Super friendly team , great food and superb drinks - will definitely recommend

Disappointed. Service was very slow. Cranberry sauce arrived half way through the meal. Drinks orders took ages. Wrong bottle of wine arrived but as we didn’t notice we were still charged fr the expensive wine we didn’t order.
the beef was tough Things were forgotten and there seemed to be general lack of training. Maybe a brigade style would suit this restaurant. This seems to work in many london and warwickshire pubs and restaurants
Thank you for an amazing afternoon the food was delicious and the customer service was fantastic thank you and will be back soon And the ambience was lovely clean toilets as well
Excellent food, helpful, friendly and polite staff. Good evening, thank you
We were ignored when we arrived, we had booked a table so eventually asked someone to show us to the table, then ordered drinks which took about 15 minutes to arrive, this was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was not busy, I ordered venison sausages and after about 15 minutes I was told they had run out, very frustrating but the food was delicious.
Our meal was good as was the service. The welcome wasn’t particularly warm and we were given a table for 2 in the middle of the room by the walk thru from the bar. Constant foot traffic going past the table. We did ask if there was a table at the edge of the room although apparently not although there seemed to be a lot of tables unoccupied.
The roast dinner was very tasty and of good quality. Our waitress was very attentive and approachable it was a great afternoon spent with friends eating and drinking.
Went for Sunday Roast, which was generally nice, although thought the roast potatoes were over cooked and the yorkshire pudding was dry. The restaurant, whilst it looks nice is very noisy and the music they were playing had such a pounding base, it was giving me a headache.. not the type of music you expect in a restaurant. After a second request, they did turn music down. Not somewhere i would visit again in a hurry!
Great roast dinner, attentive staff, nice ambience. Thoroughly recommended 👌
Nice decor, welcoming and friendly staff, and food was very very good, what more can you ask for
We booked for a table of 4 originally for 3.15pm on Sunday but were running late so rang at 2pm to say we would arrive at 4 to 4.15pm as we were getting s ferry from Isle of Wight. We arrived at 4.05pm and were ignored ordered in an offhand manner by the Manager to stand by the desk. We waited over 10 minutes and not one member of staff made eye contact or welcomed us to the venue. We decided to leave as the service experience was so awful. The manager came out and said that he had a disaster as a member of staff had not turned up for a 3pm shift!! I explained that the delay in the service, how we were ignored by many members of staff after 15 minutes and the lack of eye contact and welcome was not acceptable - we walked out at 4.20pm. To add insult to injury we then got a follow up phone call from the manager explaining about lack of staff and I commended him on phoning us back and then he had the temerity of blaming us for being early - we had said 4-4.15 pm as we were coming from IOW. It beggars belief on this level of customer service. We ended up in the next door Pulcinella Italian Restaurant with amazing service food and welcome . So glad we walked out
had a lovely meal with my beautiful partner. I would recommend it very much.
