Situated inside a building dating back to 1873, The Platform Tavern has a whole lot of history, located on Town Quay in Southampton’s dockyard and even being featured in the Hollywood movie ‘Titanic’. Serving up everything from all-day breakfasts to British pub food favourites and exotic dishes, The Platform Tavern is a favourite among locals and tourists alike, and with its friendly service and cosy setting, you’re sure to feel right at home. Whether it's to enjoy some live music in the evening, to catch up with friends over a few pints, or for a hearty meal, The Platform Tavern in Ocean Village is a popular choice – to guarantee a table, making a reservation in advance is recommended.
Great food and great value as well. Atmosphere really good, variety of ages and live music to boot. Selection of beers was very good. Will be back
My work colleagues and I arranged a lunch to say goodbye to a colleague that was leaving, the booking was made the same day and accepted and the food arrived quickly, the staff are always friendly, I have used the venue on numerous occasions for Sunday Roast and can recommend it as one of the best in Southampton!
Had a lovely meal at the Platform Tavern Saturday in relaxed surroundings with a good blues band in the background. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Choose from their £10 for 2 lunch menu. Didn't expect to much. Wow it was brilliant all 4 of us left with a smile. Topped off with above excellent service from Preston (I think that is his name sorry if I got that wrong). We will be back!
This was our first visit ti the Platform, we went with our daughter who lives in Southampton, and the whole vibe of the place is just awesome. The food was excellent, the band were outstanding and the place was jumping......brilliant night. We live in Spain, but the next time we visit said daughter....we will be back, thank you for a memorable night out. xx
The Platform Tavern is an excellent venue. The food was very good and the service excellent. The music provided by Sid Carter & Co was just right for a Sunday Lunchtime
Reserved table online which was all setup for our arrival. Food arrived in great time and was delicious! Service always with a smile and able to have banter and light conversation with the staff. All in all a very pleasant experience and will come again!
Whilst the food was very nice, the setup in the pub needs major attention. We booked online, when we arrived no table had been reserved Their explanation beingbecause they had been too busy to check the internet that day. They made an effort to accommodate us on a table near a large party. As there is very limited space there was a continual exodus of people pushing past your chair and several members of the party had over imbibed themselves meaning several visits to the toilets. There were two women screeching like 5 year olds and quite frankly the language was toe curling. We loved the food but the evening was not good because of these people inflicting themselves on diners We sadly will not be returning.
Very enjoyable afternoon in a nice friendly pub with a great atmostphere. Live music which was great to listen to and we had a lovely meal. Have had food a few times there and it always been good. Highly recommended pub.
We visited on a Friday evening. There was a good atmosphere, good range of beers and the food was also good. An added bonus, which we hadn't expected, was an excellent live band playing. Would definitely return.
