good food and good music on a sunday afternoon. Fresh well cooked lunch and a lovely desert, served by friendly helpful staff. Live music on a sunday lunch time maks it perfect.
Food was excellent and staff were great. The live music gave the restaurant a nice chilled atmosphere.
Very enjoyable afternoon in a nice friendly pub with a great atmostphere. Live music which was great to listen to and we had a lovely meal. Have had food a few times there and it always been good. Highly recommended pub.
Great food and atmosphere. The menu was extensive and the portions were large. Would definitely go there again. Met some very nice people as well.
This was our first visit ti the Platform, we went with our daughter who lives in Southampton, and the whole vibe of the place is just awesome. The food was excellent, the band were outstanding and the place was jumping......brilliant night. We live in Spain, but the next time we visit said daughter....we will be back, thank you for a memorable night out. xx
The Platform Tavern is an excellent venue. The food was very good and the service excellent. The music provided by Sid Carter & Co was just right for a Sunday Lunchtime
Reserved table online which was all setup for our arrival. Food arrived in great time and was delicious! Service always with a smile and able to have banter and light conversation with the staff. All in all a very pleasant experience and will come again!
Whilst the food was very nice, the setup in the pub needs major attention. We booked online, when we arrived no table had been reserved Their explanation beingbecause they had been too busy to check the internet that day. They made an effort to accommodate us on a table near a large party. As there is very limited space there was a continual exodus of people pushing past your chair and several members of the party had over imbibed themselves meaning several visits to the toilets. There were two women screeching like 5 year olds and quite frankly the language was toe curling. We loved the food but the evening was not good because of these people inflicting themselves on diners We sadly will not be returning.
We visited on a Friday evening. There was a good atmosphere, good range of beers and the food was also good. An added bonus, which we hadn't expected, was an excellent live band playing. Would definitely return.
The food was nicely done, with a lot of vegetables to go with, very crispy. We had Sunday roast and fish & chips. Service was quick and waitresses were very nice. There was live jazz music, super pleasant! Will definitely go back!
