Fantastic, the best Sunday lunch me and my partner have ever had, food was amazing and the service just as good, the soup of the day, wow, just the best, I'd recommend it to anybody looking to book for a meal and we'll definitely be back.

Food was lovey.. perfect roast.. The service was even better. Our Scottish waiter has us crying laughing 😆 she makes the place. Will defiantly return :-)

Service was a little slow but they were fully booked and working hard - 6 of us at table and all agree that food was delicious

I ordered lamb which was just big piece of grizzle, but waitress never bothered when saw I’d left it all. Had crumble as was starving g and it was burnt. I should have said something but as I’ve done waitressing in past didn’t like to complain.

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the lovely atmosphere, it's warm, inviting, and perfect for both a casual meal or a special occasion. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure our experience was seamless from start to finish. The variety of the menu was impressive. There were plenty of options to choose from, and every dish we ordered was of very good quality. Each bite was bursting with flavor, showcasing fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. To top it off, we enjoyed a delightful bottle of wine. The prices were very reasonable, offering fantastic value for money given the quality and experience. Overall, our dining experience were exceeded my expectations.

Fantastic restaurant. Sunday roast was beautiful as was the huge chocolate mousse, and made me feel very welcome as a solo diner, i really appreciate that. Staff were great. Defo return next time in Ambleside

Excellent choice of food on the menu and all beautifully cooked and presented. The only downside was the dining room at the front was small and there was a long table of guests enjoying themselves but due to the size of the room it was difficult to hear on our table. That’s no reason not to go as honestly the food and service were great.

A wonderful old building full of character where we ate an excellent meal which was good value for money. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. A thoroughly delightful evening!

We loved the history behind the building and the food was gorgeous!

I left a note with the reservation explaining the meal was to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday, after a walk around Brotherswater, where he took us camping as kids. The service was amazing and the lady (apologies I didn’t ask your name) made him feel really special - decorating the table with a banner and balloon, and bringing him a sticky toffee pudding with sparkler and birthday song. He texted me later to say he’d had an amazing day. Thank you!

Friendly welcome and lovely team at the Priest Hole. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine and stout were superb. We would highly recommend.

Great food; good service and at reasonable prices.. biggest problem was parking the car in mid Ambleside!

We had a table of 5. Food was hot and tasty, and portions very large. Service was friendly and efficient. Altogether thoroughly recommended.

Lovely Resturant and very welcoming and helpful staff. Went above and beyond to be helpful and made an extra special effort with out baby boy. The food was amazing would say 5* very taste and flavoursome. So much of the menus we wanted to try. Highly recommend. X

A truly great meal with brilliant service. The roasts we had were exceptional. The service we had was also great. We had some questions about allergens before our visit which were answered quickly by Ollie. A must visit place when visiting Ambleside.
