The Railway

It was our first visit to the Railway at Lowdham. We had pre booked on line and our table was ready when we arrived. Attentive, friendly staff who knew the menu. Food was excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was probably the best I have had. A comprehensive none pretentious wine list, with wine being offered by the glass. An excellent lunch time experience. We will go again and fully recommend it to friends.

Excellent meal & ambiance. Good modern british quisine. Good food, good service. Price reasonable. The venue has been excellent every time I have been. To be recommended.

Excellent food and service. We will be back again tomorrow to introduce friends to a great eating place. Well done to both kitchen and front of house staff.

It was our first visit and we found it to be lovely pub, with a great atmosphere and very nice food, we will definitely go again.

There is always a lovely welcome by all the staff, the food is high quality and cooked to perfection.i like the decor of the restaurant Also the toilets are very clean.

Welcoming,efficient service , cosy dining area and delicious reasonably priced food-what's not to like? Fixed price menu good value; my husband had whitebait ( fresh ) followed by lamb's liver with chorizo. I had salmon with celeriac and leeks from the a la carte-both well presented and full of flavour. Didn't try the desserts on this occasion however the selection was tempting. Finished with excellent coffee and macaroons-perfect! Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Great food, a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Staff are helpful without smothering. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Malbec and the pumpkin soup was amazing!

Excellent, very tasty good size portions in a lovely setting. The live singer who was also performing in the bar on our visit was very good and made our evening very entertaining. We will definitely be going again.

Lovely food, ( my lambs liver was delicious) good service and good value (ate from Early Bird menu); became rather noisy when the band arrived! I would happily go again.

This was my second visit to the Railway. The meal and service was again exceptionally good - looking forward to our next visit in this wonderfully decorated pub.

Everything about eating here was brilliant - food, service, drink choices and the setting. I highly recommend this place, i fine dine and i have no complaints

Excellent service and good company, the salmon was delicious. I have been twice in the last three days and sampled various delights the highlight was definitely the duck confit. Willl be back again very soon.

First time at this newly refurbished establishment but would definitely return. The menu and food were excellent, served by efficient, friendly staff in comfortable surrounds with ambience - would recommend.

Service good initially but difficult to get attention once meal was served. My meal was cold & had to be sent back. Rest of my party had finished their meal when it was returned. Veg serving inedible. Couldn't get my knife into the parsnips they were so undercooked. In fairness after the complaint about the veg, they did knock off the cost of my meal. I think something should have been offered before the second complaint however. It was not enjoyable eating my meal with the other 3 people watching me. Drinks & desserts very expensive. I was shocked by the size of the bill! Also on paying by card, was left with the machine for several minutes as the waitress disappeared. My son knew how to complete the transaction so he did & we left without any further contact with the waiting staff. Will not be returning here.

First time since the new owners took over, excellent in every way, service, decor, food, timing. Friendly service by people that seemed to care, kitchen very well run, cleanliness A1.

Love this resturant but this time we were asked if we would move table before our desert to make way for another party despite a long wait between starter and main also with two young children a little impractical ??????

The atmosphere was welcoming with friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious and well presented a throughly enjoyable experience. I would recommend the place to anyone.

Potatoes werent the best, as in not soft and not crispy but the staff were friendly and the service was quick. Would definitely visit again for another Sunday lunch.

We live locally and have had drinks here a few times but our first meal here. Our meal was good ,we had one little problem that was sorted quickly with a replacement . Bar staff know their stuff,perfect gin & tonics ,great garnishes and flavours.

Excellent service and good food the chicken was delicious.The whole experience was really good service was quick and efficient from start to finish Staff very attentive to our needs.

Excellent, well-presented food (roasts and good a la carte Sunday lunch menu) and fine selection of wine, beers and drinks. The pub is decorated with fun in line with the railway theme. Classy and family - friendly. Highly recommended.

Superb meal. Fish & Belly Pork special was a real treat. Friendly warm service, a really pleasant atmosphere made for a lovely night for my wife’s birthday. Thank you Dave, Mark and team!

My third visit this month and I will keep on going back as it is a real pleasure to eat at the Railway and enjoy the atmosphere.

Fabulous food and excellent service. Good pub grub. Great ingredients done well with bags of flavour. Service is attentive but not overbearing. Beer is yummy as well!

The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the service was excellent, being friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and well presented but thought the olives and deserts were slightly over priced.

Sunday lunch, food was lovely, Didn't leave a thing. This is the second time we've eaten here, it's more about quality over quantity but there is plenty of food a great variety of veg with it. Very pleased.

A tuesday lunchtime visit and restaurant busy; always a good sign. Excellent food, excellent service and very reasonably priced for this standard. Set meal a bargain.

Lovely environment, beautifully renovated old pub. Well trained polite young staff. Delicious fresh and healthy food with a wide choice. Especially enjoyed fresh fruit with my pannacotta. Excellent all round.

This is a lovely gastro pub, newly furnished throughout, great atmosphere and fantastic food. I've also been on a Friday night which had live music, which added to a very pleasant evening. Would recommend to anybody.

Fantastic menu and a very warm welcome. The staff at The Railway made us very welcome and the choice and range of food was VERY good. Looking forward to our next visit
