We had a wonderful meal. The presentation was very good, the food was fantastic ,and the staff were very welcoming. We would recommend it. We will certainly be returning.

An excellent all-around experience. We dined outside on a clear warm evening. The staff were without exception polite, helpful and pleasant and the food was good throughout and sometimes exceptionally Sad I.

Lovely meal. Good place to meet friends. Special menu good value but dessert a little too much cream...it was Eton mess but an alternative with a few strawberries and thin shards of meringue decorating it. Overall though great venue and meal

Excellent surroundings and phenomenal food. Menu choice was first class and the staff were friendly and attentive. Relaxing atmosphere and didn't feel rushed. Great overall experience.

Lovely food and pleasant staff, however our table was on an access route which made you feel lie you were always in the way and having to watch who was walking past!

Dear Sir / Madam. We have been to the Railway on three occasion's now, the first time was for Fathers Day, and love it there. The atmosphere, ambiance is superb, the staff so warm and very welcoming, and the food just tops it off. Not one bad thing to say, as simple as that. Thank you to all at the Railway. Marko Malusic.

I contacted restaurant in the morning to check the options on set menu for intolerance. The person I spoke to said as there was only 1 main I could have she kindly told me I can pick anything from the main menu and she would honour the set menu price without a problem. On arriving at the restaurant I explained this to my server. They said she cant do this and will charge me the supplement. I explained again and she basically suggested the lady this morning was wrong and should not have told me that. She told me to order and she will do something after. Having ordered eaten and got the bill, nothing had been amended and was therefore charged a lot more than the set menu. The server would not honour thus mornings offer. I thiught this was poor. Other than that the place was a nice setting and calm. We did have to ask for our table to be cleaned as it has sauce all over it.

Have not been to the Railway for years, but have heard good things so we thought we would visit, the food is great the staff are lovely, we will definitely visit again

Tepid food small portions high price certsinly not the high standard we had been.lead to believe we would receive it was supposed to be a birthday treat not onevwe would repeat.

The service and the food were excellent, it helped eating out on the terrace in the warm sunny evening but all in all a very pleasurable experience and would go to the railway again

It is a really nice place and could not fault the quality of the food. However my daughter had the hake and the size of the portion was very disappointing.

The Railway is a gorgeous pub in a quaint setting. The staff are superb, very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic, I really couldn't fault it. The outdoor area is a delight on a sunny day. I can't recommend this place enough. I can't wait to go back.

Lovely, friendly staff and excellent food. This is not your standard gastro pub. Thoughtfully designed menu. Highly recommended for a drink, meal or special occasion.

Welcome and service good and friendly. Slightly disappointed by menu choices. Paella had plenty of chorizo and squid but little else recognisable as contents stated on the menu.

First visit after being renovated, sat outside in the dining area, food was lovely and a wide choice, good to locally sourced food to the region. Thank you, I will be visiting again. Louise

This restaurant is always extremely good with food and service of a very high standard. The Railway trifle was especially good as was the cheese plate.

Easy to book online. Lovely menu - variety of options, friendly helpful efficient service. Food was delicious and just right quantity on a plate. Pleasant decor. We will be back.

Location and environment is lovely, the food was just ok, we had a vegetarian in the party where there was only one Veggie option as a main course and she was really disappointed, I have a pet hate when eating out which is when chefs salt everything and I have to say my dish was really salty, others may like it but not me. Burger apparently was amazing and the Paella was just ok so a real mixed review from my party of 6 so when I paid the bill of over £230 it was an expensive meal for just ok food.

One of our regular haunts. Guaranteed good food, lovely atmosphere, great location, friendly & efficient staff. Modern english cuisine. A deservedly good reputation resulting in the awards they have recently received.

Excellent meal on a busy Saturday night. The lemon sole was very good. Service very friendly too. Would definitely recommend that you give the Railway a try.

Great place to eat. Plenty of space, nice garden for kids. We have had Sunday roast which was delious and also evening meal which was. Wry nice

Great atmosphere, exceptional food, great service. A country pub setting serving first class restaurant food. I had mackerel followed by Lemon Sole, both cooked to perfection.

The food was, as usual, fabulous. The only problem was the strong bitter coffe. I like strong coffee but both my companion and I could not drink it. Otherwise great!

Food was to good standard we had starter and main and were too full for dessert, pub is very noisy as the eating areas are next to the bar area. Service was good.

Lovely chicken and beef, but the roast potatoes were over salty today. Service, as always friendly and efficient. No wait for a table. Thank you.

Lovely environment, lovely food and lovely staff!! Couldn't fault anything. All four of us were more than happy with everything. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Just lovely food, varied menu, impressive wine list, good atmosphere and really friendly, efficient service. Great to have such a classy restaurant in our neighbourhood.

Great service, delicious food, very accepting of dogs outside on the gress or seated in the bar area of they're well behaved. Good play area for children age 4+.

It is a really nice pub with interesting decor (old railway pictures etc.) and a convivial atmosphere Oh, and the food is first class. too.

My friend and I went to the ladies night on 16/5/18 and it was £19.95 for a glass of prosecco and a 2 course dinner. The food was really tasty and all staff were lovely. I was disappointed that the 2 courses had to be a starter and a main, non of the starters really took my fancy and I would rather have had a pudding. I couldn't find a menu on the website for the ladies night and I would probably have come another night and eaten off the standard menu as the choices are more to my liking. The pub is lovely, really nicely decorated and has a nice feel to it.

Yet again another really great visit I do actually think sometimes perhaps there could be more choice but no I think the menu is perfect and the quality outstanding, well done.

I have been to the railway previously to sample the beers, however this was the first time that I have eaten there having read the great reviews that it has been receiving. We went in for Sunday lunch which was very well priced, great portions and the meat was succulent. Service was crisp and polite without any hitches. Well worth a visit and I will definitely be going again.
