It was closed - we drove 2 hours to see our daughter at uni and booked the table for 2.30 to arrive and it was closed

Food was well presented and very nice. It did take a while to come but was still hot and very enjoyable.. Chocolate torte dessert was especially creative. The venue is relaxing but being that the food area is not separated from the drinking section, as the meal went on so did the volume of noise from the adjacent tables of drinkers which spoilt the atmosphere a bit. Ran out of fish but took 20 mins to inform us and change order

The main reason for us going to the reindeer was the Tomahawk steak on T-Bone Tuesdays. Unfortunately they don't do that anymore. Food was very nice, service was correct and the beer and cider selection is still very good.

Excellent pub and very friendly staff. Great Sunday lunch and dog friendly too. Would happily eat there again and will do just that soon. Understand the owners moving on so go while you can.

Loved the food and service. Just a bit chilly and cramped. Would go again though just for the waitress performance :) Table of 8. All left happy

Brillient place to visit. Fantastic, tasty food; good choice of beers; friendly and attentive staff. Sunday roast is very popular better then book in advance.

Poor food, service not great. Won’t be going back any time soon. Undercooked vegetables. Chocolate Sundae wasn’t a sundae at all. Inadequate information given about content of Sunday lunch.

We were seated in a side room 12 people and had very little attention given to us. It was clear there were not enough staff. The room was cold, the food was cold we had to ask for more gravy to warm it up and the veg was hard, practically raw. At the end of the meal we had to ask for the bim by going into the bar area. Extremely disappointed especiallly as it was a meal to celebrate my birthday.

It was very nice. Food was nice. Staff were nice. Atmosphere was nice. That wasn't twenty five words but it says everything I wanted to say.

We had a roast which was disappointing. The food wasn't that warm and the vegetables were all undercooked which was a shame. A shame as we had been looking forward to it.

Excellent as always. The Reindeer is suitable for all ages and is offer quality, good value food with relaxing surroundings. The current owners have got it spot on in a competitive marketplace. Recommended.

We pre-requested Tomahawk steak but wasn't available. It's ok but they could have notified us in advance to save disapointment. We were hopping to have that. That's why we were going on a Tuesday. The alternative menu was Ok although...

Really inadequate service. We were made to move table and not shown to our new one, when we asked they pointed out a table that had not been cleared from the last service. Waiter was the quietest man I have ever heard in my life. The food was ok but the sides came out 10 minutes after the main. Dessert was nice, but was served a coffee not on a saucer and with streaks all down the cup. Fortunately we weren’t changed for the coffee or our last round of drinks due to the incompetent staff not adding them on. Some of the worst service I have ever received anywhere,

Attentive service, great food but it was such a shame there were so few people in the restaurant. Hopefully trade will pick up to a sustainable level.

Very nice food, very good service. Maybe the music was just a little bit too loud at time...or maybe I am just too old! :-)

Excellent service and the food was superb. The price to quality ratio is off the charts good value. Plenty of parking near by with the 24/7 Barm carpark at the back of toys r us. After a friend raving about it I'm glad we went. Handle a group of four on a Thursday night easily.

We had a Sunday Roast. The beef was ok, but just one slice of medium rare top side. The pork was dry and the leeks totally under cooked. Difficult to recommend a place where the chef obviously does not even bother to taste the food themself. Front of house guy was good, but appears the establishment policy is to sympathise and offer up staff shortages as an explanation, rather than compensate the diners for their poor experience.

The food, when we got it after nearly an hour was excellent. However, there was only one veggie option and that was mushrooms on toast. Not good enough!

everything about the roast was great apart and it was a BIG issue, the roast beef was the worst ive ever had(couldn't even cut it with the knife supplied had to pull it apart-gave up and left it) and that is the biggest part of the roast therefore will never go back again.

Excellent food, all 3 courses were delicious, and were really decent portions. The service was great with really friendly staff. The pub also had a very nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again!

Unfortunately I went to the pub today and was very disappointed. A few years ago I booked the reindeer for my 18th birthday meal, to turn up and the pub was shut! I was very upset with this at the time. I returned today with family, hoping things would be a bit better. Thankfully it was open, so that was a start. However, we ordered drinks at the bar and waited a further 5 minutes for them to find our table. We were then told we could sit at our table, without knowing which table it was. Once we sat down we were asked what we would like to eat, however we weren't quite ready (our fault for chatting). I was a little disappointed that there were only roasts available (no salads or traditional pub meals) and also no starters as we would have ordered these since we were celebrating our dads birthday and Mother's Day. The waiter returned to take our order, didn't seem overly pleased to be working Mothering Sunday. Once the food arrived (we had beef and pork roasts) we felt slightly disappointed after paying £14 each we expected to get quite a bit. However, we had one bowl of leeks (which weren't even cooked properly) and a bowl of vegetables between 6 of us. I will say it was nice to have a jug of extra gravy. However, I didn't feel that there was much meat and definitely not enough vegetables to share for 6 people. My sister in law even said when she had finished "I could eat 2 more plates of that, I'm not full enough. Definitely need dessert". Well after waiting about 15 minutes for the dessert menu, we then waited another 20 minutes before our desserts arrived. We had the sticky toffee, which was lovely, Eton mess which was again lovely and the chocolate cake, which was a bit plain and dry. Once our plates were cleared we were waiting a very long time for the bill in which we then went to the bar to pay.

Excellent food and environment. The menu is fairly diverse, including off cut meats. The atmosphere of the pub itself is open with extensive floor space for the pub and restaruant spaces. Definitely worth the experience.

We had the roast dinner option on a Sunday, and the food was fantastic. Huge Yorkshire puddings, beautifully cooked beef and a good selection of potatoes and veg. Just the thing you need on a Sunday, followed by delicious desserts with a fancy presentation. The only thing was that we waited a while for service, but that was only due to them being so popular and busy, and when we were served the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend for a Sunday roast!

Good food and nice service but didn't get to sit in the main restaurant area despite booking ahead due to a previous party not leaving at our designated time. It meant we had to sit in an area that suffered from draughts due to doors being opened regularly. The waitresses were apologetic however and the food was lovely, they also had a great selection of beers.
