I had the cheese and ham salad. my partner had the burger. Both meals were excellent. The price of salads and burgers have went up. It took ages for meals to be served. This happened the previous time. Had to ask twice for my tea being served. My partner asked for a 2nd drink, Had to ask again as service was slow. The waiters were about 12 feet away doing nothing. No going to our table and asking if any problems. Very poor.

Food wasn’t good….both dishes were really spicy….one was meant to be a butternut squash wellington…it was nothing like wellington, it had filo pastry that had gone soggy, soggy vegetables and bland but spicy…it was just not appetising at all. The sizzling chicken wasn’t great either…far too spicy and dried out chicken. The chips that were served with it were bland, oven chips straight out of the freezer…don’t know why it is so hard to make your own chips? The onion rings were thick hard batter, just not good. It just was all very disappointing and bland…first visit and won’t be back after that! They should really look at other establishments that do good pub grub and try to improve on what they already do by offering a bit more home cooking! Go to the No5 in Alva and get some tips!
