The Royal Redgate

Disappointed that chicken was off the bone on my Sunday roast and not chicken breast. Portion was smaller than the last time I came too but was still tasty.

The food (belly pork) was amazing. Service was good although the red/green card system doesn’t work very well.

Not a great choice on menu but steak and pork belly we had are both amazing. The sticky toffee pudding was a dark sponge and really not good at all.

Booking a table was easy as done online. We were seated very quickly. Drinks arrived quickly. Food was fantastic, steak cooked to perfection. Had the dessert sharing platter for 2 also, which was great. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff very efficient. Would highly recommend

Enjoyed my food (Herbivore Pizza) & service was good. Only issue was got very busy and people waiting to come in were lined up along the exit route (less than half a meter apart), although all in masked, social distancing is still required. Entrance and Exit routes should be kept separate.

Venue was well organised for Covid precautions, service was quick and the food was delicious

A rallying calm friendly atmosphere. The waitress was very polite and was very down to earth - very chatty and friendly. The food was incredible! Worth every penny

My husband and I went for Sunday lunch, accompanied by our dog. We were greeted and shown to our table straight away, and the serving staff were very pleasant. They brought water and doggie treats for our dog without being asked, and generally made sure we were happy with the food and everything else at every stage. The restaurant was a little quiet, but the food was lovely. This was not our first time at the Royal Redgate and will not be the last. Covid guidance was observed by everyone.

We visited on bank holiday Monday. I must say service was great and so was the food. My partner said the rump steak was the best he has ever tasted ! Will definitely be back again.

Started off fantastic, seated early. Starters and mains received in great time and tasted delicious however after ordering dessert we waited far too long. All tables around us that had their orders taken after us received their orders. We waited until it had been over 30 mins and explained we had to go and due to the length of time it was taking we would have to cancel dessert and get the bill. No apology was made or offer to chase up desserts. The lady just turned her back and walked off and another lady came with the bill 30 seconds later. Such a disappointing end to our meal time. Our first time dining here and really hope it’s a one off and would like to try again.

Tables were well spaced and although the restaurant was busy we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Friendly and efficient staff.

The food was OK but the pies were lukewarm, I would have expected hot or cold not in the middle. Chips were hot and good.

Good food as ever...been a while since we have been Not sure we got our 50% off due to the eat out to help out. We paid £50.15 We had 2 fillets at 22.95 each= 45.90 2 peppercorn sauce at 1.95 each = 3.90 1 onion rings at 2.95 each =2.95 Pint of lime and soda= assume 3.00 Black coffee =3.00 Total 58.75 So assuming to pay 38.75 Then a Pint of pedigree ( not included in discount assume 3.50 Assuming Grand total should have been 42.25 Sorry didn't keep my itemised receipt to check

Food was just warm,service was good, we have been here quite a few times,overall we had a good evening

Service was very good. Did not wait long for our food. The belly pork was gorgeous. My husband had the full rack of ribs, which was enormous. No room for a pudding. Will definitely be returning.

The last time I visited I loved it but not this time quite disappointed to be honest! meals looked nice but tasted very bland, husband ordered 1/2 rack of ribs got a small portion of chips with it and that was it! Don’t think it was worth the money but we did get it through the Eat out scheme. Don’t think we will be returning anytime soon.
