Dining with a conscience has never been as emphasised as it is these days, and while it can be a minefield if you want to head out and eat ethically, there’s a stalwart handful of London restaurants flying the flag for eco-friendly gastronomy. The Savannah is one such restaurant, and we’re excited about it because not only does it take a sustainable, organic and biodynamic approach to food and drink, but the wizards in this kitchen (under head chef Alin Lucian Atanasiu), housed at The Wesley Hotel down Euston Street, have nimbly fused classic European cuisine with the exotic flavours of Africa and Asia. The result is a menu packed with exciting dishes like the African-spiced pork belly, sirloin steak given an Asian twist, a sophisticated list of wines and artisanal beers – and membership with the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
