Food very good and staff were attentive. The only minor fault was the long wait for the food. Been to this pub before and don't usually have a wait.

Disappointing. Not as good as it used to be. Shunted off into a side room with no atmosphere. Food acceptable. Has this place changed hands or something?

Overall another fine evening at the Scotts Arms. We were initially disappointed by some beers being unavailable (Black Sheep. Moretti) and one of our chosen starters (mussels) . There was then a mix up with our replacement starter but the staff apologised and offered us a round of drinks as compensation. The food was all good, the steak and ale pie as filling and tasty as ever, good scampi too both with the usual good portion of chips. (We have noticed other pubs getting very stingier over chip portions but not the Scotts Arms.) We booked a table for seven thirty and it was jam packed when we arrived with no spare tables but when we left around ten it was empty. The Scotts Arms is our consistent pub of choice for a traditional pub meal. Maybe you need to get in early to be sure of all the menu choices.

Excellent food and good choice of starters and main courses. Prefer it when puddings with custard are also available. Very friendly staff. Car park has plenty of spaces.

Food was nice. Ordered a starter of ribs which were really good followed by a meal from the specials, scallops & linguine with truffle, ok but found the sauce very creamy & didn't taste the truffle. Wasn't aware when we booked a table that there was a live singer performing & we were placed at the table near to the performance. Was shown to another table but it was in a room that had been closed off & there were no oher diners so declined offer. As we'd gone for a catch up with friends found the music too distracting.

Arrived on time and shown to table. Lady came and took out drinks order. Good order to follow. Food was delicious. Empty plates all round. Absolutely fabulous birthday treat. We visit regularly and are never disappointed.

We had a lovely lunch but found that it was more expensive than when we last were there. It would have been much much better if the music had been turned off - it is so nice to sit in a place with the only noise being a quiet hum of conversation, children laughing etc.!

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Scott's Arms, we had a nice greeting, the service was friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and good value. My wife liked being able to order a small portion on some of the dishes on the menu. We are giving it a score of 5 as the music wasn't to our taste but that's being a little picky I know! Would definitely recommend.

Great food. The belly pork for the main was super, with wonderful thick crackling on top. The ginger caramel ice cream was really nice. Staff very friendly especially the waitresses.

Pleasant enough afternoon meal. Not the most extensive menu but probably enough for there to be something for everyone. Portion sizes were larger than expected and the regular sized dishes will be too much for most. Food quality was good. Prices top end for pub grub. Lacked the decent restaurant feel with having to order food at the bar and go for your own drinks. We are sure to go again if in the area.

Tasty food and lots of it. Large selection of draught beers and lagers. Good service from staff. A really nice place to enjoy a meal. If I'm being picky we waited a long time for food to be served, but there were 8 of us so that's understandable. We certainly will go again. Good menu choices.

Had a lovely meal, the menu is always hard to choose from as so many things sound delicious. ...and the specials included an imaginative combination of chicken and haggis, in honour of the recent Burns Night. Dishes were tastefully presented - and tasty too. We'll go again!

We were a little worried when we arrived at our pre booked table at 19.30 on Friday night and found it was next to the singer/guitarist who was due to play for 2 hours from 20.00. However we need not have worried as he was very good, not too loud and we were still able to have a conversation! The food was also very good and a fast and efficient service.

Food was excellent. A little disappointed with the service as they were obviously short staffed. We were unable to order more drinks as there was a que at the bar and no waitress service at the table. Don't want to que half way through a meal.
