Food and service as always excellent just wish the ship was in Worcestershire so we could eat there more often as we only get chance when we visit relatives

Amazing food lovely the puddings were lush Great atmosphere bar and waiting staff very friendly and welcoming well recommended would definitely go there again Excellent experience all round

Lovely food portions sizes rather large but everyone enjoyed their food and staff were very efficient too, music was a little too loud for lunchtime as one of our guests has hearing problems so he found it difficult to hear all the conversation

Good service good food very attentive top marks very clean and tidy would gladly recommend to friends and family for a good night out of wining and dining

The pub was very quiet so service and food was very good. Place is in need of a facelift though as a Little bit shabby.

Really great pub, very cosy and welcoming. The food is superb and there is lots of it ... very good value for money too! The bar staff and landlady were lovely. Will definitely be going back!

Very disappointed with the food. Quantity over quality . Burnt roast potatoes , over salted vegetables, and very bland fish pie. Very reluctant to return unless quality improves.

Excellent food, lovely traditional pub with good choice of drinks and an extensive menu. Had to go to the bar and order even though there was plenty of waiting staff.

Took my elderly parents for a meal (I'd eaten at the Ship before, they hadn't) and none of us could fault it - lovely food, large portions and efficient service.

Went for sunday lunch, with family. I had the roast pork, it came out hot, plenty of meat and veg. the staff were polite and helpful. I look forward to going back very soon.

Booked table online, when we got there they had no record of it. ☹️ They managed to scrabble around and find a table for us but it was all a bit disjointed. Food and table service was good. Next time I will just give them a ring to book a table.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The meals are very large, I wish they could serve smaller portions on request, there must be a terrible amount of wastage by the end of each evening. What happens to it all? We have been to the Ship many times for a lovely meal, unfortunately the chips were almost cold this time. Having said all this, we will definitely keep going back!

Food is very good would recommend it service is absolutely brilliant good value for money a good place to go for a lovely Sunday roast

Reservation/table booking all very good. Food was very good also but they had run out of most of the roast dinner options by the time we went (3pm Sunday) so would advise to go earlier...

Table reserved with nice personalized sign. friendly service through out .wonderful food .doggy bag offered for the slices of roast beef that I had "no room" to eat because of the generous servings offered am looking forward to booking again Best food in Southampton in wonderful traditional pub setting

The food is some of the best that I have ever had in a pub,experienced in a great old friendly pub that oozes charm and tradition.

Great food - all made fresh and really tasty. Slightly smaller portions this time than we've had on other visit, but sill bigger than many places! Tried the deserts this time which were great too. Staff friendly and helpful even on a really busy evening.

The food was excellent but the waiting time was excessive. The staff were very understanding and polite. They acknowledged the delay for our table and offered complimentary drinks (which we didn't take up) but the food was worth waiting for.

Good fast service, very large portions, young and friendly staff with no pressure to vacate when we'd finished eating. The price was in my opinion quite reasonable, and lots of historic atmosphere as the building is I believe listed.

FOOD WAS PERFECT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. STAFF ARE VERY POLITE AND QUICK SERVICE FOR A BIG FAMILY MEAL. WILL DEFINETLY BE RETURNING TO THE DHIPP INN. THANKYOU.

The restaurant didn't receive our booking but did their best to accommodate our group of 12. We waited quite a long time )1hr) for our food but it was good and with huge portions. Deserts were huge too except the apple pie which was normal size!

Lovely pub, really good food, we have been there on a number of occasions and not had a bad meal yet and not stingy on the portions either.

The meals were excellent, and were served in a timely manner. The pub itself was clean, and the cask ale I ordered appeared to have been well kept. Finally, the staff were friendly and efficient.

Good value for money pub grub. Friendly staff. Beautiful building in wrong place. Mixed grill sausage bit cheap n cheerful but breakfast sausage very nice.

The Service was good and the staff were friendly,The amount of food served was plenty and very hot just how I like it.Will definately go again.

We Visited The Ship Inn for a birthday celebration. It was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were all very hospitable. We all really enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend to our friends and family. A great evening had by one and all. Well done to the staff of The Ship Inn

Fabulous evening, great service and good food. Good selection of real ales including some guest beers. I would recommend you book on weekends as it can get busy.

Friendly staff. Good food (far too much!) and reasonable prices. Go here regularly and always an enjoyable experiences. Lovely open fires. What more could you ask for.

Absolutely amazing food, great atmosphere and lovely pub. I did book via Quandoo and they put the wrong time in the diary but after showing them my confirmation they found us a table.

great food, massive portions, really good value for money. friendly staff as well. would recommend to anyone. we were 12 people and service was quick ad all meals came out together.

Our meal was excellent a very busy time . But not very long to wait must always book a table very good service will definitely be going again soon

Great food, friendly staff. Portion could be slightly smaller but great value for money. Not one person on our table finished their meal as it was just too much. Even the puddings are like a main meal. Will definitely be back as lots of choice.

We had a wonderful meal everyone enjoyed their food, staff very friendly. Old fashioned interior which we prefer to the modern pubs. Will definitely be going back
