The Smoke Pit - Northampton

The food was really delicious and the service was great! I would say that overall all 9 of us really enjoyed the whole experience! 🤙🏻

This is the second time I have been to the smoke pit and yet again the service was fantastic with a lovely atmosphere. Absolutely gorgeous food, I will definitely be back again!

Having been recommended by my granddaughter, I was unsure that The Smoke Pit would be to our taste, but we were soon put at ease by the knowledgable waitress. We had pulled pork and brisket. The lightly pickled vegetable and the different types of fries were excellent. Portions of meat were huge and beat us all. Our only gripe would be that the sauces on both pulled meats were over powerful so that it was difficult to taste what meat it was. Good local beers, but a bit lacking on choice of wine. Sweets were again on the large size but great to eat and nicely presented. The place was nearly full on a Thursday night and the large open room was getting very noisy when we left about nine.

Excellent food and cocktails , lively restaurant with good atmosphere , excellent service. Meal for 4 plus 2 drinks each £120 .... good value .

Great food, great atmosphere, ok customer service. We ate early evening and I would highly recommend for a family as the children's menu is really good quality food.

Cracking food and lots of it with a quirky selection of drinks available too. Try the house platter without a starter unless your appetite is very large.

Great food and excellent service. Kids loved the milkshakes and the chalkboard near the toilets. My only criticism is the portion sizes lead to much food waste.

Great food/portion sizes and offered to take a doggy bag home was a nice touch. First waiter was a little less than friendly. Second waiter was superb.

Lovely food, massive portions! Really nice atmosphere, and good customer service. Food served within a good time frame and staff checked on you regularly. Would recommend.

Always great food, and quick service.Always mean to go for a burger, but haven't yet managed to tear myself away from the platters. Good beer selection too.

As usual the food was excellent. Portions are in the large side and it's difficult to choose what to have. The Smoke Pit is one of our favourite restaurants.

Terrible service, food not great when it did arrive. Second time we've been, it was the same last time too. Not going again, acoustics not great, don't go if you're hard of hearing!

Great food. Service was a bit slow and didn't ask if we needed drinks frequently enough. Sitting next to free refill machine was a little annoying. But again, great food.

First time eating here and definitely won't be the last. Food service and general feel of the smoke pit was amazing. Highly recommended and it won't disappoint

3rd time there and it was amazing once again, only complaint is there was too much food, if that counts as a complaint. Will be going again and recommend to anyone

great as always however craft beer selection is less diverse now so only gets 5/6. vary the selection to get top marks from me next time!

The Food was ok, our order got cocked up so they gave us a starter, and was too full to eat the mains! Didn't get a dessert, :-(

Brilliant experience as always, the food is only bettered by the staff who are excellent with adults and children alike! We will be back soon!

Took 3 friends to the Smoke pit last night for the first time and in their own words it was amazing! It was also good value for money at under £40 each including drinks (we all had a cocktail each as well) and 3 platters between 4 of us with a couple of side dishes was more than we could eat. Lovely food good and reasonably priced drinks top marks.

Fantastic food and service, we could not fault the smoke pit in any way and we will definitely be visiting again as soon as possible!

Food and atmosphere was amazing!! The choice was good and would defo recommend the nachos as they were the best I've ever had! Plenty of drinks choice too!

Great food great atmosphere. Tables were cleaned and attended to staff were as accommodating as could be and were always happy to answer any questions regarding dietary needs

Great food. Come with plenty of time as food takes a bit of time to come out. But it is always worth the wait! Highly recommend

Food was fantastic, service was good and the staff were polite although a little slow at times, we had to wait a good 10 minutes to attract attention to ask for the bill and in the end I had to get up and go to the counter to ask for it. Had the ribeye steak and the swordfish and both were incredible. Lastly the restaurant was rather loud, it was hard to hear each other talking.

As is always the case the smoke pit was bang on the money. Ribs and wings were lovely. The skin on fries amazing andddd Best chicken burger ever!!!!

First visit absolutely loved it two for one burgers Friday's 12-3pm volcano burgers great quality food fast service friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend cocktails two for one Friday as well.

Once again a fabulous meal. The restaurant was very accommodating when I wanted to change the number of people coming - nothing was too much trouble. Food was, as always - amazing.

Really tasty food and drink, well prepared and exactly what we hoped it would be. We went for the smoked meats section for mains as for most people I imagine that's why you'd go there! Considering the amount and quality of what you get I considered it good value for money. The staff we also incredibly nice, helpful and attentive. I haven't ever been anywhere actually where the staff were as happy as they were here, it was lovely and we tipped accordingly! Highly recommend.

There were generous portions, and the hangar steak in particular was very good. Two of our party found the pulled pork dressing a little sweet, but we enjoyed our meal. We were a party of four. We did not stay for coffee as the music in the restaurant is very loud, and we couldn't hear ourselves talk. The general noise was an issues, and is likely to limit any decision to return, however nice the food.

Great food and atmosphere! Only reason not given a 6 was because of wait for food. The menu does warn you of a 45 minute wait at busy time, but think it was quite a bit more than this between starter and main. Will definitley go again though!

Very good recommend the sharing platters and draught ales. The restaurant has a very cook decor and suits couples and larger groups. Highly recommend it.

The food was nice, slightly fatty in places but overall good and a decent sized portion. The service was a little slow though. Ps I have not received my 2 x 250 points for inviting 2 people to separate tables I booked

We had quite a wait (an hour) but the food was really worth the wait so they were instantly forgiven! Generous portions but leftovers come home with us. Will def go again.

Great atmosphere was very busy so had to wait over 40 minutes for food to turn up. Food was cooked really well the ribs were amazing!

smashing went for 2nd year anniversary and had no issues at all, we would especially recommend the nachos, however after eating them we did struggle to eat the mains!!
