The Smoke Pit - Northampton

As always very nice 😊😊 food is always on point!! Amazing steak and peppercorn sauce I would have given this 6 if the table had been ready for when we had booked this, but only a minor thing 😊😊

This is our third visit and the service and food were very good as before. The only criticism was that everything seemed very expensive. Not sure if there has been a price increase, but it will make us think twice about returning in future, sadly.

There no bar area in the front of the restaurant to get a drink whilst waiting for you table. We were in the place for 40 mins before we had a drink in our hands. But the food.... Oh the food! Meal sizes were very big. A few of us had to leave food and chuck it in take away containers. Apart from a slow start, the Smoke Pit definitely lived up to the hype!

Great venue. Great food. I had the smoke pit platter and everything tasted amazing. Big portions means you get to take some home for later ;)

Excellent food as always, and the service is friendly and not intrusive. Loved the new items on the menu, and the childrens menu is now much better as well.

A very good menu ( lots of choices), we had two Platters, which came in at £40. This is maybe about what you might pay for a sit down Indian meal for two. We couldn't get near finishing it and were blown away by just how lovely everything looked and tasted. Without asking at the end, we were offered to have what was left, put into a bag so we could take it home - we accepted this with childish glee. The service was very attentive without being intrusive ( I am obsessed by poor service and really enjoy service that is well done, this was well done - I have had to deal with the General Public during some of my work-life).The drinks were not over priced ( £7.50 for a pint of Coors Light and a nice bottle of Pale Ale) and there was a good selection whatever your poison is. The room is well set out and well spaced out ( not crammed next to tables either side. A very good experience that I hope to repeat on another occasion..... try it, I doubt you will be disappointed.

We ordered the Smoke Pit Platter for two - can not fault the food - was delicious. The waitress forgot to put our desert order through, but once she realized the order came and we weren't charged. Free pudding for the win.

A meat lovers restaurant with a lively and fun quirky atmosphere. Portion sizes are huge so make sure you are feeling very hungry before you go!

Service fantastic as always! There was a massive group there at the same time so we expected our food to take ages but they were very quick with bringing it out! And it hot and delicious!

Fantastic restaurant for any occasion. Lively and friendly staff. Food is amazing, be warned the portions are huge. Would recommend and have returned as this is our second visit.

Great food and good service. Had the CowPigChicken burger and sweet potato fries. Great selection of craft beers also from Beavertown, Tiny Rebel and Yeastie Boys.

My favourite place in Northampton for a burger or a steak.....never let down by the food and the service has always been excellent. The staff do everything to keep our son amused and still provide a very professional service!!

Excellent food, great service, brilliant atmosphere in an interesting setting, reasonably priced, can't fault it had a great evening. Huge portions you won't leave hungry.

Always great service and food every time we go. It was a super busy Saturday night and they still did a great job. Will keep going back.

Excessive amount of good served - what a waste 😓 tables too long hand to almost shout across it to be heard. Having saudxall that friendly staff food was tasty.

Excellent choice of delicious food and generous portion sizes. I had the chicken platter and ended up taking half of it home ! Would also recommend the nachos they were huge

First time at the smoke pit and I know it won't be our last. Extremely filling and well worth the money. It was Simply amazing!!

Great Food, Friendly attentive staff, Great evening! I'd recommend to everyone. Just make sure that you've skipped the previous meal because you will be gutted if you can't finish.
