The Soulville Steakhouse - Chesterfield

Disappointing because of fire alarm issue - only had starter then had to vacate premises. But not before had to pay in full for drinks and starter... then on the hunt for somewhere to eat before a show at the Winding Wheel! Felt for the manager: difficult situation. But not relaxed as alarm kept going off and staff dashing in and out of kitchen, and staff didn't manage it well.

We went for a family members birthday lunch and we really enjoyed it. The food was lovely and the the staff were very attentive. We would visit again.

Great food great price! We really enjoyed the space and the easiness of booking the table. Not too far from where we are (town centre)!

Party of 8 and food and service were excellent. Definitely be going back. Nice bar area to have a drink before and after plus good surroundings when eating. Music loudness just right.

Really great evening with gorgeous food couldn't fault the food. Although would have expected to be served drinks at the table not have to keep going to the bar.

Juke box is a big advert. It doesn't work and staff know it doesn't. Steak restaurant with no steak knives. Staff very basic. No interaction with customers. Everything a chore. Food good.

All of our meals were amazing, we were all very happy worth the quality of both the food and the service! Very impressed that all 10 of us ate all together no one waited and war all piping hot 😆

I booked The Soulville for a friends birthday night out .The staff were very friendly, the food was good, loved the music, all in all a great night.

Excellent food, efficient service and friendly staff. A unique atmosphere, especially for lovers of Soul and Motown music. The ribs are recommended as are the deserts. Extremely good value.

I found the Souville Steakhouse to be a warm and welcoming restaraunt with a wide range of meals available which suited the various needs of our group. We will certainly be visiting again!

Fantastic meal and good quick service from very friendly staff.We will be coming back for more and may I suggest the 20oz T bone steaks,they are the best I've had.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Steaks cooked to perfection. Staff were lovely and happy to help. We had a brilliant time and would definitely visit again.

Customer service is a little rough round the edges but it's training not an attitude problem. Less food or bigger plates would aid presentation (and avoid a pile of food). Good quality at the right price. So much better than Galleon.

Had a great meal to celebrate a family birthday. Good service and childten enjoyed picking the music they wanted. I would definitely plan to go again.

I did like the 2 hours slot which we was for the table with mum and dad in there 80 we was told to move I'm glad we did not have a sweet or we be eating it on the floor

We had a wonderful meal. Great staff and we loved the tunes. Friendly and relaxed place. Had plenty of space around the table, will definitely be going there again.

The food was good. Great steak, which is what you hope for in a steak house. The service was interesting. The starters came out ok but were rushed by the staff as we were told "well your mains are ready". Then we were left trying to flag down staff trying to order puddings. When trying to pay the 5 staff behind the bar didn't seem to know who was where and what I should pay for. The food makes up for the service.

Lovely well prepared food, generous portions at a very reasonable price. Pleasant atmosphere and ambience with quick service to the table. We will be coming again.

Staff are really friendly and the steak was amazing! Would highly recommend the mushroom pepper pot! Great place for a family gathering too. Try it and you will not regret!

The food and service was excellent even on a very busy Friday night. There is a good selection of drinks at the bar and a nice area to sit near the front before your table is ready

Staff very friendly, good service. Steaks ok - not the best. Lamb not as tender as previous visit. Good children's menu. Nice atmosphere and decor.

The food was lovely not as polished as the first visit in the aft (this time we went in the eve) the service was a bit rushed and the main came out way too quickly after the starter and we had trouble getting the bill. But overall a great eve and I'm going again although I may stick to going in the aft

Great place to eat with friendly staff. The only issue we had was that the reservation didn't work even though we had email confirmation. The staff seemed to imply that they just don't get to see the reservations made online.

Excellent food cooked exactly as ordered. Fast service even though the restaurant was extremely busy. Lovely, friendly staff made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

I had the pate to start which was to die for and the caramelised onion and salad complimented it perfectly. the steak was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent. I will be a regular from now on

After previous visits to Soulville steakhouse I decided to go with my family to celebrate my 65th birthday. Excellent food and good atmosphere as always. Staff very obliging as I was not sure of the number of people attending and it was a late booking.

Me, my partner and our two boys went for a meals. It was amazing clean plates from us all. Service was brill couldnt fault it and at the end we were pleasantly surprized at the bill we were expecting it to be a lot more than it came to. Kids meals nearly same size as adults but half the price with free ice-cream. Cant wait to go again.

Awful left without eating, dirty walls , dirty cutlery, dreary, unpleasant young serving staff , over all a very bad experience will be avoiding this place in the future.

Great food, standard service and felt more pub like than restaurant but that shouldn't be taken as a negative just not as loud as TGI.

The food was very good value for money, unfortunately there were a few xmas parties in and service was very slow for all other people

My friend and I were visiting Chesterfield for the weekend and as lifelong soul fans had to book Sunday lunch at Soulville. Everything exceeded expectations, delicious food served up while listening to wonderful music. Atmosphere and staff were great. Worth a repeat weekend trip to Chesterfield :) (BTW the music volume was just right not too loud for conversation)

We were party of 7 and all had an enjoyable meal with good service. One of our party ordered a side of onion rings and declared them "to die for!" We all said we would definitely visit again.

Enjoyed it overall. Onion rings were a little greasy and the bill took a while to come. But otherwise a pleasant experience. Would book again but not for a celebration, more of a last minute meal out
