Unfortunately even though we booked a table there was no available table when we got there so we had to eat elsewhere. It is a shame we were not notified in advance

Service was brilliant, food was good but atmosphere not good as no other diners in there apart from us after 7.30! And it was a Friday night.

We have been going to The Spice for many many years and the food is always delicious. Our service on New Year's eve was OK but we felt very rushed at the end. We wanted to have Irish coffees but they said they were too busy. The table next to us had Irish coffees. Our visit ended on a sour note. We were disappointed because we like eating at the Spice.

I'm from London and occasionally visit Basingstoke. I ordered food here exactly 12months ago as the place was busy. On my anniversary trip in Basingstoke so decided to book a table at The Spice restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely,the staff was welcoming and very pleasant. Quick service and the food was excellent. I could not complain about anything. Nice fresh food with lots of flavours. Only thing I missed was more spice on my food but that is just my choice I am a spicy girl. I would absolutely recommend here anytime and I will always eat here whenever I am in Basingstoke. Wish they had one in London. Well done for a lovely Anniversary night out at your place. Keep up the excellent standards.

We 4 people have been going to the Spice for 27 years. We had yet another delicious meal last night the 8th August. The food is wonderful and the service excellent.

Really poor service, mediocre food, staff have no idea of drinks, no knowledge of wine, asked for a glass of Sauvignon blanc, got a glass of dishwater squeezed out of a plastic bag! Charged extra for a bowl of curry sauce £4:50 naan bread ordered and forgotten. Charged £7:20 for four poppadoms, waiter had the cheek to tell me I haven’t charged you for the naan, thanks said I, I didn’t have it!. Proper load of rubbish.

Booked table for 20:00. Nice table position (in window) but very tight for 4 people. Enjoyed food, drink service a bit slow, with no choice of size of glass of wine. Requested red and received large glasses. At 10:30 Felt that we had outstayed our welcome. Bill was delivered to table without asking, lights were dimmed and a window was opened next to us. If decide to use again, would probably go for a take out.

Excellent food and service, I took the wife for a belated Valentines meal. We had a couple of Popadoms with the various dips. My wife enjoyed her mushroom rice with Lamboona (lamb) I had a chicken curry with special fried rice and finished with an ice cream dish. We can both recommend The Spice Restaurant.
