Service was very slow ! The three of us have visited before, it is not crowded on a Saturday so the long delays were not understandable. DESSERT menu did not have what we ordered we were offered the Lemon Meringue Pie dessert of the day. The lemon was only in the colour not in the flavour. Dissapointing visit.

Had a nice time at The Star, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was good but there was not much choice as a vegetarian. The chips were excellent. Too full to experience the pudding.

Awful. We went to the Friday curry night. The curry was tasteless. The nan bread was from a supermarket and over cooked, I brought it home for my dogs. The barman knew nothing about the beers he was serving. They only had two traditional ales, non of the modern hopey IPA's I like. The waitress, also the owner, seemed proud that she knew nothing about wine. The wine choice was very limited, all poor.

We booked for a family get together. We had a nice table, good service and lovely food. Reasonable prices. I would not hesitate to return.

Cant complain about the service as there was none. The chef told us he couldnt do a rare rump.... Ive eaten rare rump all over the world. He could do a medium to rare though...so he says. The food arives. The steak looked more like a piece of stewing steak that had been beaten flat with a malet. As for medium rare it was so over well done and cold I dont have a word for it other than insipid. Will never recomend even going there for a drink let alone food.

Really enjoyed my meal at the Star at Witley. The food was great and as we were there on a Friday evening, the atmosphere in the pub was great too. I recommend the ribs! One slight issue is the online menu differs to the actual menu in the pub which made us have to change one of our meals but only a minor inconvenience.

OK. Nice environment but the food wasn't amazing - particularly when you compare it to other pubs locally. They are clearly trying to improve the ambience and it is looking much better than it did.

Good pub facilities and atmosphere (not too crowded on a Friday and with pool table and darts facilities). Good ales. Pizza (Friday night) was poor. I love pizza yet left half of it as it did not taste good - it seemed undercooked and dough was not seasoned well (tasted like sourdough).

It was an enjoyable meal reasonably priced and the service was very good. The atmosphere was good and the pub is comfortable Would go back again.

Traditional pub, has the potential to be good, however the food was mixed and we hoped for better sadly. The service was nothing special, even though it wasn't full? Positive point is that the price for the meals are reasonable .
