Busy, perfect place to go after a nice walk around the reservoirs. Lovely service.

Lovely pub had a good time with family probably won’t be going again not for the food anyway was a little overpriced for what it was.

Waited a while to be seated as there was only 1 person serving drinks, seating people and taking orders when we arrived. The sandwich I ordered was unavailable but it was OK as there was another I wanted to try. Added a mug of soup but I'd hardly call it a mug, it was a small cup. The chips on the other hand were amazing and big cup of tea after was good. Reasonably priced.

Moved in the area so thought I would try the Sunday roast with my family. Table booked for 12.30 we arrived 15 minutes early but was seated straight away. However once ordered food we waited over 1hr for 3 roast dinner. I was definitely was not happy about this, it took to long and my wife being diabetic type 2 this was quite bad. Anyway once food arrived it was good. When we arrived we probably got looked at by every single person that walked into the pub Maybe because we was Asian! I was put of over this situation Who cares not be I paid for my food like every one else.

Fries too spicy and food took a long time to arrive. Roads leading to the pub were very narrow and full of pot holes with very limited parking.

Hampered by the restaurant having a problem with gas supply. A limited menu was available. However there were inconsistencies as we were told that no steak on the menu although other diners arriving after were able to order. Our starters were fine but main courses average and overpriced.

Only cold sandwiches available, but then one of those wasn't available. Beef in sandwich so tough I had to cut with a knife. No member of staff asked how the meal was for us to comment. Don't think I will be returning.

Excellent overall a bit of a wait but it was very busy as all good places are. Parking situation is always tricky but we managed. Has to be one of the best countryside restaurants in the country.

Lovely visit as always .We we’re waiting a while for a menu despite booking prior to arrival but the food was delicious.

We were pleasantly surprised that the venue had had a makeover during lockdown and new seating areas added and the interior smartened up. The food is usually excellent but we both made poor choices in ordering the sandwiches. Mine was the Lancashire cheese and pickle. From the moment it arrived it overwhelmed me with masses of thick brown bread and huge chunks cheese. Although the taste was fine it was just too much. My husband ordered the roast beef sandwich and his was slightly better although he did get quite a few chewy bits. Overall a nice place and good service but would order something else if we visit again.

Beautiful food, great service, nice decor, will definitely visit again. Portion sizes more than ample.

I ordered a tuna sandwich.It came the bread was like door stoppers most unappealing.I did not eat even half of it .I’m sorry but it did not look appetising at all. My mum had lamb roast she said was ok ,my sister had chicken roast said it was ok.My other sister had cheese pie she said was nice.Overall very disappointed.Sorry

Service was impeccable and polite. Food was tasty, but both meals were only tepid, even when reheated

Pleasant surroundings, staff very polite and helpful. Vegetable soup starter excellent, but steak pudding and chips disappointing especially chips, most of them hard. Unusual for this place, been before and always been excellent.

the only real downfall was the waiting time of more than 30mins.

Good food at at good price. Online booking system worked really well. Only downside was our table of four was sat too close to another occupied table.

Really nice fresh and locally sourced food, plenty of it at a reasonable price

It would have been helpful if we were told on arrival that there was a significant delay in the kitchen. We waited an hour and a half for our main courses … my daughter missed her train back to London.

Had the roast dinner really good, will definitely be back, staff really friendly service was good and fast, even have some dog treats on menu and bowls of water all over for the dogs can't think of anything negative i could say about the place first visit but not the last

Lovely food, steak night 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £18 then your sides are on top £2 each

A lot different than previous visits was still a nice meal, steak was full of flavour however steak was very gristly this time :( not always like that though. Still a good overall experience.
