The Swift Carrickfergus is a one stop shop for everything from a casual nibble with a beer through to a fine dinner or an elegant evening of cocktails. To be found right by the beautiful Carrickfergus Castle at Rodgers Quay, one of the best preserved medieval structures in Ireland, The Swift restaurant is contemporary and comfortable in terms of decor and very much the ideal setting to enjoy food that’s mindful of its heritage, high-quality and prepared with absolute passion by chefs who really know their stuff.
You fortunate folks can dine or drink at The Swift Carrickfergus for breakfast, lunch or dinner and each menu, as we said, is laced with quality. The food is internationally-inspired but sways towards being mainly British, meaning more classic dishes than you can shake a stick at make up the a la carte menu. We’re big fans of the lamb tomahawks that’ll arrive at your table with a polenta crust, minted peas and mash. The duck breast is also a dream, owing to its curious but wonderful chilli and pineapple salsa accompaniment. The Swift Carrickfergus won’t disappoint – it’s one of your best dining options around.
Great food in good company with excellent service. Pity this beautifully situated restaurant is closing 26th December to be torn down and replaced by appartment accommodation.
Really good service and food which according to reviews we weren't expecting.Unfortunately the restaurant lacked atmosphere as it was quite empty for a Saturday night.
Beautiful surroundings, tasty menu and friendly staff. I highly recommend The Swift for family get togethers and more intimate meals, my favourite Sunday spot in Co Antrim. Great value for money and an excellent cocktail menu to boot.
