Disappointing evening: restaurant had run out of burgers, fish & chips & steaks by 7:45 so very limited choice. Food quality has gone down since our visit a year ago when we had an amazing meal. We were told on arrival we’d have to leave by 9:30 as one of our party was under 16 - which wasn’t mentioned when we booked. Waitress was helpful & kind - food very average & wont be eating here again.

Beer Festival weekend did not disappoint, loads of lovely local ales as well. Changing chargrilled chicken to Hunter's chicken on the menu is a great move, it was absolutely scrumptious! Bit of upbeat '80s tunes in the background, made for a very jolly evening!

We were a small birthday group. The service was provided by Beth who was absolutely lovely, the food was good and very reasonable. Will go again.

Really enjoyed our second meal here. The food came out piping hot real fresh and tasty. We will be back

First time of visiting The Thatch for quite a few years. Very attentive staff, well cooked food. Portion size is just right. Friendly atmosphere, visited test time with family.

Very good food but a tad noisy for us oldies & the background music was not really necessary. Staff very attentive.

Very friendly and helpful member of staff - but he should have had some assistance. The wait times were too long but this was acknowledged and compensated for. Food was good quality pub grub and value for money.

Carvery was average, nice veggies, meat overcooked. Didn't like that they have a cat and the cook gives it meat directly on the top of a table, where customers will probably later on sit/drink/eat. To me, animals are not to be on the top of tables, unsanitary!

We have eaten at The Thatched House on numerous occasions and the quality of the food experienced recently did not disappoint! A fantastic array of meats/vegetables on offer in the Sunday Roast Carvery all prepared and served to perfection. If you’ve never visited The Thatched House in Exeter, you don’t know what you’re missing!

The service was attentive and the food was mostly good. I only say mainly because one of the party had some undercooked fish. All the other meals were good and the portion sizes were good even though we selected small portions. The puds are particularly good with lots of custard!

We loved the excellent choice of meats and vegetables on the carvery and the homemade strawberry dessert was amazing ........the only thing we didn’t enjoy was the rowdy unruly children on the next table

Lovely welcome. Small menu but good selection of vegetarian options. Tried the lamb pie which was delicious. The simple burger was very good quality. Good selection of gins too.

Great service, gorgeous Carvery, seating was cramped and too near the bar but it wasn’t too busy at the time we went so it was fine.

Had the Sunday carvery very Good meal good selection of meats and vegetables well cooked. Only a minor point but if the plates had been warmed the meal would have stayed warmer for longer found meal got cold quickly on cold plates
