The Townhead Hotel

First time at the Townhead and certainly won't be the last. All round great experience with first class food and service to match. Keep up the good work.

Delicious food in an extremely comfortable hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. A cut above a typical pub meal but without all the pretentious rigmaroll of a 1st class restaurant

Lovely food. Would of been a 6 but given the conversation from the people sitting at the bar when others are eating in the restraunt it was unpleasant. No one really wanted to hear about people being sick down them selfs. Wasnt impressed! Portion size of cheese cake was poor but was lovely to taste

We try and come here while visoting Lochmaben, can highly recommend here, food was excellent and chef makes Panna Cotta, our dessert, it was oustanding! Great service from waiting staff too, lovely smiles and friendly.

Lovely food served by cheery waiting staff. Nice setting although restaurant would benefit from air conditioning - it was starting to get very warm so would have been much worse if busier.

We were very well looked after by the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful, as well as patient with our indecision. Well worth a visit.

Made our anniversary meal extra special. Food wonderful as always. Will be back again really soon but I'll try to leave space for dessert next time.

Our second visit on 25th of June 2017 was just as good as our first last year. The food was very tasty, and the full restaurant showed our decision to go there was a good one. Luckily we had booked well in advance. Thoroughly recomended. Ian and Jean Anderson

Friendly, efficient and welcoming staff, great food and very generous portions. Comfortable surroundings too. A truly excellent dining experience. We're intending to go back tonight!

We had a lovely visit to the Townhead, it was super busy which created a real buzz and nice atmosphere (although a bit noisy). The staff were lovely and very attentive. We all had a main course and dessert and all of us really enjoyed the main course... we didn't feel that the dessert was great and not the best value for money but that was more than made up for by everything else. Overall we had a lovely evening.

First time at the Town head hotel. Lockerbie and I certainly will be back. Food was amazing and plated beautifully. Staff were all very pleasant and surrounding s lovely. Good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Owner Stephen was very attentive to all guests.

The food was very nice. The two waitresses were rushed off their feet and through no fault of theirs could have been a bit more attentive.

Pleasant staff and lovely food. Shame the bar area shares the same space - however - this will certainly not put us off going again.

Impressed with the quality of food here. The fish was big, meaty and fresh so good value. Will definitely be back to sample other choices.

Great food and lovely staff, very quick service for drinks etc. Lovely environment (clean and tidy toilets!) fish and chips was the nicest I've had in a while, and decent size to boot! Will be back.

What a transformation since I was last in Lockerbie !! It is welcoming, clean and homely. The staff are cheery and helpful. I went here with my family on a Saturday early evening and all the tables were booked so I would book if you are going at the weekend. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the portion sizes are good. My only small complaint is the lentil and chickpea burger needs tweeking, not quite right. But saying that we will be back the next time we are in Lockerbie.

Great food great accommodation great hospitality would not hesitate to recommend this little gem we found on our way up to the Scottish highlands great!

Food was great. Service was very poor. Waited quite awhile for food even though it wasn't busy. Waitresses spent most of their time at the bar instead of tending to the customers eating. Shame as it's a lovely place.

Personnel friendly but food service very slow. Warned on arrival but took twice as long as advised. Menu as you would expect from a pub. Food fine but nothing special. Disappointed given all the good reviews we had read. Maybe just an off night?

Excellent food - friendly sevice. I've never had anything here I didn't like. Family friendly and a great location before or after a long train journey.

Contoprary interior. Excellent food! We had steak. It was cooked to perfection, came with the mouthwatering field mushrooms (best mushrooms i ever had!! Could eat just bowl of those 😊), chips, tomatoe and salad. The Irish coffee was the smoothest coffee i ever had! The portions are good size, staff very friendly and professional. Definetly recommend this restaurant!

The food is excellent especially the roast loin of rabbit and very well presented. The service was quick and consistent through out the meal. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Great food served by great staff in a lovely environment. Good menu choices and prices are very reasonable. Thoroughly recommend the Cranachan cheesecake, it was delicious!

Lovely food, excellent service! Well worth a visit. Small hotel tucked away on a quiet street but well worth going off the beaten track to visit it.

The food was delicious. Couldn't finish my steak and ale pie it was great. Would definitely recommend the restaurant. The staff were very friendly !!
