Historic building with a modern touch. Immaculately presented. Attentive staff and very well presented and cooked food. A recipe for success. Recommended popular venue. A+

food was absolutely delicious, and the staff very friendly! We had a great table next to the open plan kitchen, and enjoyed watching other meals being made up and served

Lovely food and service pricing fair choice would recommend a few more. Very cold and heating seemed to be inadequate which made the experience unpleasant.

I understand how busy the restaurant is but yesterday the service was below the standard expected having to wait in excess 25 minutes to clear the table another 15 minutes to bring a dessert menu 15 minutes to take our order only to be told we had the wrong dessert menu at that stage I cancelled the order shame because the food is good

We absolutely loved it. Had two courses, only reason we didn’t have a dessert is because we were too full! Gorgeous food and really good service. Would recommend

Great service, drinks and food. We shared Welsh rarebit, and then had the pork belly and fish & chips, all really well cooked and lovely presentation. Very good value for money too. Would recommend and would visit again.

Excellent food and service. Very quiet on a Sunday night, was able to pick the gallery table which had a nice atmosphere and lighting. Food wasn't cheap but good quality. Will be returning soon.

No check back done. Beef was well done NOT RARE after being told it would be rare. Cauliflower cheese was more like mashed Cauliflower cheese. Had to ask for more drinks. Did this just after receiving mains. Had to ask if they had been ordered. Received after finishing mains.

staff were welcoming, great. The lamb was inedible which they probably noticed from what was left on our plates. Chewy and hard to cut. Disappointing.

The food was delicious. The staff excellent. Our only complaint was it was very cold in the corner to the point that we mentioned it and the response was the heating is on full as if to say we were in the wrong. I would recommend the heating needs improving! And also some customer service training for the staff

Just ok . Duck wasn’t crispy. Wine came after we’d already had our starters. Not enough staff

The restaurant is very well decorated and the staff friendly, professional and welcoming. There is a good range of dishes on the menu, with some very special options. My main of hake, cockles, broccolini and white wine sauce was delicious and perfectly cooked. There are some interesting wines and an enticing selection of desserts. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Nice setting and good food. Maybe trying slightly too hard with the flavour combinations - the lemon tart could have been more lemony rather than pairing it with meringue and raspberries

Lovely Sunday lunch. Service was good and for a table of 6 was quite quick. Not a huge choice for younger children. Only negative was that it was very cold inside.

The food was lovely and well presented. There wasn't a huge choice especially the sides. The environment was lovely but it was so cold. I had to keep my coat on.

Having read several reviews for The Vine Tree that were glowing we were optimistic for a good evening meal. Unfortunately when we arrived the atmosphere was poor with the staff more interested in the computer system than serving us. The meal started well and we were very pleased with the starters but the mains soon lowered the tone with the pastry for the chicken and mushroom pie very tough and a couple of times I thought I was going to break the plate. The website states it uses locally sourced food but not once on the menu does it say who the suppliers are. Having been looking forward to an evening out I am sorry to say i would recommend The Bear and the Dragon in Crickhowell ahead of the Vine Tree.

We all enjoyed our meals . Three had the chicken and mushroom pie and one had whitebait as a main course. I would not give them a 5 as they forgot our vinegar fir the delicious chips! They had to be reminded. We would definitely eat there again.

The crayfish linguine was awash with oil, so not great. The beer battered haddock and chips was on the other hand very good. Service started off ok but deteriorated. We asked for the dessert menu but after waiting in vain we decided to leave the table and pay at the bar on the way out. Not the best night out I’m afraid!

Could not find any faults. Good food and very pleasant staff. My only suggestion would be not to season the chips, but allow diners to decide if they wish to season the food. Overall my wife and I had a very pleasant evening.

Warm welcome from behind the bar, had drinks before dinner! Food was very good, and well priced. Service was a little slow, asked for a glass of prosecco at the table and had finished our dinner before it came.. however would still highly recommend
