The Why Not Inn - Astwood Bank

The starter was lovely freshly made. The roast dinner was cold and re warmed from being made earlier. Definitely not freshly made the beef was inedible. Cold roast potatoes , cold Yorkshire's, cauliflower cheese that had no cheese it and was watery. So disappointing l, as we had heard good reviews. Very poor.

Food was good but thought the drinks were overpriced 11.80 for a glass of white wine when normally pay around £8 at most pubs

My husband thought the sea bass was a bit small. Otherwise the food was good, my mushroom risotto was lovely.

We had a lovely Father's Day lunch at The Why Not Inn. It was very busy, as expected, and therefore the service was a little slow but this was more than made up for with the quality of the starters and roast lunches and the generous portions we were given. We will definitely be back again.

Food great once we got it , think our order was forgotten or not put through . Arrived 7pm got our meal at 8.30pm after asking where it was . Offered free pudding as compensation

Food great but; We booked a table in the covered outdoor area but it had been booked out for a private event. We were asked about sauce which we then ordered but never came We have to prompt for coffees Otherwise great.

The buttermilk chicken, the croquettes and the mushrooms were really delicious and a good size. Would of happily had these for a main meal! The roasts were nice, slightly bland, and came with not even a full carrot and litreally a few peas. We were not able to order a half pint of orange and lemonade, we had to have a pint, and when we asked for no ice we got ice so had to send it back. However the tea came in a really generous size teapot, which was great. Then upon payment we were unable to use the card reader, as it would not connect to the server, luckily we had cash but if we didn't I don't know what we would be expected to do.

Our table was booked for 1pm. Taking the drink order took ages, taking our meal order took ages, 2 members in our party had starters can't remember what time they arrived but our roast didn't get served to us until 2.20pm . Had to chase the dessert order.Enjoyed our food but the wait for all 3 courses was rediculous.

Your staff were all friendly and very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our meal we did feel it could have been hotter. But we still had a lovely time as it was my husbands 65 birthday. And your staff brought out our cake and sung happy birthday thank you

Lovely atmosphere, and great meal. Starters were the best, quickly followed by mains and desert. The only down side was that the apple Ipay didn’t work so had to pay again on card….. so my bank account currently shows two payments! Hopefully this will be corrected soon.

The pie was tender and very tasty and served piping hot. The sausages was also another winner, we ordered a side of veg to go with the sausages but it wasn't needed as it comes with veg. It didn't say this on the menu. However excellent lunch and will be back soon

Food was alright, but rather plain. Only I other couple in and at about 9 the only people left. Clearly the staff wanted us to go, as was clearing the other tables
