Food was ok, one steak tough and the other ok even though we ordered the same. Did not like the service charge so didn’t pay it as the drink prices expensive.

Brought my mum for the first time, she absolutely loved it, as did we.

We had a lovely time. We had the chateaubriand which was delicious, had plenty of sides and was perfect as a meal to share!

We wanted a little break and took advantage of the Black Friday deal on the rooms. We love the tomahawk in Darlington so already high hopes for this one. The food was lovely. One of the sides on the main was luke warm but they soon sorted it. Considering they were not very busy there was some inefficiency, maybe it’s just that lull between Christmas and New Year. All in all it was very enjoyable, the food was gorgeous and the staff were very friendly. We did enjoy it but Darlington remains our favourite.

Having booked following receiving gift vouchers to value of £175 wanted to share with my family visited Husthwaite- was in booths was a very noisy party on large table - ordered at 8.30 got food at 9.30 very slow - also not clear on receipt until read at home later that a service charge was include in bill not itemised and not clearly bit hidden - I know it optional but not obvious - but food when arrived was fantastic as usual

When I booked this 6 weeks ago I confirmed that it would be the normal lunch menu. When we chose off that menu today we were suddenly informed that the chefs didn’t have the ingredients for the lunch menu so we would have to choose off the main menu (bizarre as basic ingredients are surely the same?!). After a 40 min wait for food a waitress came to say “chef has had an accident with one of your meals so there will be a slight delay.” Ten minutes later somebody else came to say one of the three components of my daughters meal wasn’t in stock so could we choose something else? After an hour the food arrived- 15 minutes later we left. My daughters meal was burnt and mine was tasteless. My husband enjoyed his. A very disappointing Christmas Eve/Wedding Anniversary experience.

Food service and atmosphere is great, dining with a difficult to please person and she loved it

We booked a night over and did get a deal on the room. The rooms are gorgeous but we were in the barn at the back and had to walk round to the restaurant - not far but no lights and it was raining so not ideal. We were seated quickly but didn’t get offered the opportunity to order drinks for at least 20 minutes. It then took some time for our food orders to be placed. The staff are all friendly however there seems to be a need for some more organisation so diners aren’t waiting for drinks etc. This is our second visit and the first was much the same. Have one person waiting a table or one taking orders, one clearing etc as what seems like disorganisation means that customers are waiting to order or reorder food and drinks. Overall a good experience but expect a little better service given the food and drinks Prices.

Fantastic best steak we've had for awhile and the choice of sides was great.

We have stayed 3 times now and every time the Accommodation is Fantastic, we had the Tomahawks Steak which was beautifully cooked , The Service superb everything was awesome about this place, so peaceful and tranquil, booked again for Feb 2020 :)

We have no bad words to say. The food is amazing, staff are friendly and polite and the venue is gorgeous. We are regular visitors and will continue to dine regularly.

We arrived on time at 9.25am and were told they had run out of Baked Beans for breakfast. Tea was served to us in espresso cups which is the first time in my lifetime that has happened. Breakfast took a while to arrive but they were busy so that is acceptable. However, breakfast was cold which for a full English is unforgivable. Ingredients were good quality to be fair but served cold didn’t really taste as it should have done. I asked for toast as an additional dish and the farmhouse bread arrived without being toasted at all and without jam or marmalade. When I mentioned the toast and said sorry for being a pain but can you toast the toast the response was “fair enough” not sorry just “fair enough” which to me means the staff just don’t care enough about the experience of the customer. It’s a nice restaurant, nice location but if you serve tea in espresso cups, serve cold breakfast, don’t toast the toast and respond like you just don’t care then you will not so well in the long term. Real shame as it was my Husbands birthday and we had heard great things about the restaurant.

We had a lovely meal last night with friends, the food was delicious, well presented and within lots of differently choices to meet all tastes. The service was regular and attentive and the ambience was very relaxed. :-)
