In Emilia Romagna dialect, Totide means ‘every day’, and at this stylish restaurant you can sample cuisine from the Italian region meant for all sorts of everyday occasions and with sleek black walls and rustic wooden decor, Totide provides a chic backdrop for a romantic date, sophisticated lunch or special evening out in London’s Putney area. Begin with the bocconcini di gnocco fritto con prosciutto di parma 22 mesi DOP (a small special fried bread with parma ham twenty two months aged) before trying some authentic Emilia Romagna lasagne, some homemade pasta like the tortellini vecchia modena (pasta filled with spinach and ricotta cheese served with vecchia Modena sauce smoked bacon, cream and drops of traditional Balsamic vinegar of Modena) or a mouthwatering meat dish like the sliced ribeye steak with rocket and parmesan cheese.
The traditional Italian tiramisu or panna cotta is the perfect way to conclude your meal, while wine enthusiasts will be more than delighted with the lengthy yet carefully handpicked list of wines from the Emilia Romagna region. Situated on Chelverton Road, Totide draws in diners from all over London to its Putney location. To guarantee its a table, making a reservation in advance is advised.
Absolutely love the food, the atmosphere and of course the owners. Really a great night. They never rush you. Fantastic wine! Cannot recommend it more.
Totide is a very pleasing restaurant, with excellent food, friendly staff & a relaxed atmosphere. We had a lovely, leisurely Saturday lunch & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
What a pleasant surprise. Very tasty and interesting food in very comfortable surroundings. Location by Putney Bus garage belies this restaurants genuine aspirations - quite a bargain to boot.
Best lasagna this side of Bologna and amazing wine list! Always lovely, friendly service and delicious - a must for London foodies and wine lovers!
Second time eating at Totide & am very impressed with the quality of food & wine - it is one of the best Italian restaurants I have eaten at in London & this new restaurant has a successful future ahead!
The food was delicious: I had the Parma ham followed by steak, my wife had melon followed by chicken. All of which was delicious. I have never before or since seen such a generous starter platter as the ham which almost needed a second plate (I ordered bread to accompany). The steak cooked in balsamic was deliciously unusual and juicier for the vinegar. Wine was great (we had a white Sangiovese) and staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful, despite the restaurant being completely full. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food! Fresh ingredients, authentic taste. They have a great variety of wines at great prices. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Very enjoyable Italian meal! We have made Totide a regular stop for dinner out.
Absolutely amazing food and service. Have been twice now and loved it both times, it doesn't look anything special from the outside but it really is well worth a visit. It's definitely the best restaurant in Putney and we will be back very soon :)
Excellent evening; the first time I had been to Totide with this particular friend. She liked it too! I shall go again as soon as I can.
I visited Totide with my family. Great tasting food, good wine list and really good service but I found that the portions were somewhat small.
Excellent food and service and interesting wine list with a number of unfamiliair options. This restaurant deserves to do well. The only downside was the smoke wafting in from the smokers on the outside area at the front.
We all enjoyed our meal. Menu and wine list very interesting. Enjoyed the sharing meat platter and the speciality bread. Will try the pasta next time. Service very friendly though a little slow and chaotic - particularly when the restaurant was full.
Fantastic restaurant, delicious food and wine with great service. It's a great addition to the barren culinary wastelands of Putney. The ambience is informal and friendly and prices are reasonable. It really deserves to succeed.
Great food and great service. This is a lovely restaurant serving authentic Italian food. We had the tagliata but had serious food envy over the trio of pasta. And the tiramisu was amazing.
Sadly waited for about 2 hours for our main courses with minimal apology from waiting staff. Ordering drinks took considerable effort. Abandoned our attempt to order puddings having been neglected once again - despite mentioning out disappointment at the length of wait for most of our food. Not remotely the birthday meal I had been expecting based on previous reviews.
Excellent food and service, as on my previous visits. My guests enjoyed themselves too. Interesting wine list with a good selection of wines made from grapes either specific to Italy or not frequently used elsewhere.
Lovely genuine Emilia-Romagna food, excellent pasta and proper balsamic vinegar. Great service. Excellent wine, v reasonably priced. Really buzzing at the weekend. Also good for Sunday lunch too.
Excellent restaurant! The food is superb and true Italian food. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The service is also very good and the staff is very friendly!
Absolutely brilliant. Great food . Great service. Couldnt fault it. Will go there again. In fact we are going to book for both our Anniversary and my birthday.
lovely little place in putney, local italian food, will def be returning. good wine list, local italian food. service is friendly and personable, give it a go!
Fantastic . Really enjoyed the food and wine . Really good service , very friendly . I would eat here again at the drop of a hat.
Fantastic food! Would highly recommend this restaurant any day! Love it! The service, the food was all top quality and all homemade. We will be going back!
Friendly and efficient service with attractively cooked food at a reasonable price. Would recommend a table in the upper(front) part of the restaurant as they enjoy a better ambience.
We had friendly service, we ate nice food, drank and we drank nice wine in a good atmosphere. A It was ltogether an enjoyable evening.
Environment, service, starter etc. All nice but chicken in balsamic was very poor. Way too strong flavour wise meaning you could hardly tell what meat it was. Shame because we've enjoyed our times there before.
The fritters were sublime. The risotto was dreadful. The lasagne al forno boring - so English! Far too much meat and not enough bechamel sauce and pasta.
