It’s a pleasant stroll up Station Road from Cheadle Hulme station to Trattoria D’Agostino, a cosy, family-run Italian restaurant and pizzeria that’s a fixture in this neighbourhood of Stockport. BY the time you reach Oak Meadow, you can smell the distinctive aroma of fresh, oven-baked pizza and Italian breads, and by the time you take your seats you know you’ve found a gem of an eatery, authentic through and through, with dishes prepared by an Italian chef and the kind of service you’d expect from the trattoria of the bel paese. The menu is a no-fuss, classical affair – whet your appetite with marinated olives, bruschetta and sun-blushed tomatoes and order up a carafe of the house red. From there, primi piatti of Tuscan bean soup, eggs Fiorentina, and New Zealand mussels in garlic and tomato lead the way into risotto and pasta dishes, and Trattoria D’Agostina’s renowned fish and seafood selection, not to mention their mouthwatering, Italian-style steaks.
Food was excellent as always and the service was very good. We can take our own wine although we have to pay corkage which is minimal
A genuine Italian menu with some great choices, coupled with really attentive service means I can’t fault this lovely little family run restaurant. Will return again and again, and would happily recommend this fabulous place to anyone.
Excellent service and food at D'Agostino, Cheadle Hulme, loved the mussel starter and seafood pizza and all in our group had an excellent time, thanks
