Both Tribeca’s stylish venues, here along Smithdown Road near Penny Lane and over on Berry Street, are ideal for hosting a celebration, and the deal is only sweetened by the fact that there’s no charge for private hire. All the elements are in place – good looks, great food, fantastic drinks, and sweet music. But any visit to this slick Mossley Hill pizzeria and bar will give you that New York state of mind as you settle into the plush leather banquette booths and browse the impressive menus. There are about three dozen options when it comes to Tribeca’s American-scale pizza menu. If you’re looking to start the day with a bang down here in this corner of Wavertree and Mossley Hill, go for the Spanish Breakfast pizza, with Iberico chorizo, eggs and spicy paprika. The New York Deli is a classic pie of smoked mozzarella, gruyere, pastrami, pickled gherkins, horseradish and sauerkraut, but if you want this Liverpool palace to the pizza to send a little pleasant surprise your way, order the Tribeca Classico and let the whim in the kitchen take over with the chef’s personal favourite toppings of the day.
