It was the second time I visited this restaurant and is always a treat. The service is very good and always very nice. The food is just amazing. Very much worth a visit.
This month's 'Nose to Tail' special menu evening was a delight for lovers of much neglected parts of the beast. The opening warm salad of confit duck leg, hearts and gizzards, with beetroot and salsify was a delicious take on the French classic salade de gesiers. This was followed by a trip to Italy with glazed pork cheek with crispy guanciale, celeriac remoulade, fig, and smoked mozzarella. The guanciale (a home-cured pork jowl) was well worth the time and effort put in by Chef James in the kitchen. Devilled lamb kidneys on dripping toast brought us back home to Old England and a reminder of high teas gone by. Roasted calves liver with a wholegrain mustard and oxtail mash, savoy cabbage, sage, caper and balsamic jus, melted in the mouth. Finally, baked stuffed apples, cinnamon ice cream, granola was a sophisticated up-dating of a childhood favourite. With excellent wines to match and faultless service, this was another memorable evening.
Excellent food, great service in charming surroundings. What more could you ask for. A really good evening. Our first visit but certainly not our last!
Amazing food, great service, highly recommended. Go on a Thursday; it’s always a bit quieter. Great selection on the menu, honest and clean food, beautifully presented and exceptionally tasty!
Lovely lunch from the set menu, great swine list and very reasonable all round. First time back for some time but we won’t leave it as long to return. Waiter could have explained what the three cheeses were, but we could have also asked.
It was my first time at this restaurant and i highly recommend it. The food was excellent and the service too. I can't wait to go back.
We still talk about as the best start to a holiday ever. Beautifully cooked and presented. Well done to all concerned and your lovely restasurant
Excellent food, service. The only let down was a table of 6 who were so loud we couldn't hear ourself think! Otherwise I would have given full Mark's.
Although perhaps not a huge selection on the menu the food presented was all of top quality. The service couldn't be faulted and conducted in a warm friendly atmosphere. What more could you want from a meal out with friends.
Truffles is a small, intimate restaurant with friendly, fast service and the food is of high quality. Definitely somewhere my wife and I will be going back to!!
Second visit and as delighted as the first visit. Excellent food and service, the ideal location for a quiet and special meal, looking forward to returning.
Lovely value fir money meal, slightly tainted by the poor ability to produce an Irish coffee. The waitress was apologetic and removed the drinks from the bill, but didn't understand the reason why they tasted sour
Fabulous restaurant with great food and great service. It’s so nice to be able to eat at a local independent restaurant and not feel rushed. Will definitely be visiting Truffles again
Glorious summer weather was well-matched by the BBQ-inspired theme menu. Highlights included a chargrilled vegetable salad, ricotta, with a fantastic romesco sauce, barbequed sardines, and cote de boeuf, with slaw, sweetcorn, salt baked potato, and chimichurri sauce. This was followed by a super palate-cleanser of English rosé and strawberry jelly. Last up was a suitably seasonal Pimms trifle. Overall, another well-planned and executed monthly themed menu event with excellent service and helpful advice on matching wines.
We had a delightful meal at Truffles (as always). Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to answer any questions we had. The starter of red mullet with laksa sauce was exceptional!
Nice Cosy restaurant which is good for a romantic meal. Very attentive and great table service and the food is fresh and very tasty. Good choice of wines too. Well worth a visit.
Absolutely fabulous meal with excellent service and a cosy atmosphere. Menu is short but sufficiently varied to appeal to most tastes and they are very flexible if you want to make some slight changes. Highly recommended
Food and service excellent. The actual restaurant is tired needing a good upgrade with the boring dull decor. Toilets need a good clean. Rather expensive but good value for a special occasion. Will not visit again.
Four of us ate at Truffles in July as we were staying nearby. We visited on a Wednesday so were offered a free glass of wine with an order of two course or more on their 'Wine Wednesday' promotion, which was very nice. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed our dinner. Service was efficient, friendly and relaxed. I have no problem recommending Truffles and we will definitely visit again when we are next in the area.
Superb food. Spoilt for choice - both wine and food were enjoyable. Excellent service. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both quality and value.
We were allocated the table we requested. The staff were efficient and friendly and the food was superb. We will certainly go back for more!
Wonderful food and wonderful staff. This is the best restaurant in fareham by far. Their food it’s award winning quaility, more than reasonable and affordable.
Nice restaurant with good food and atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff and interesting choice of dishes on the menu. Would be happy to eat there again.
Superb food. Looking forward to the next visit. My wife has issues with allergies and they adapt the menu so she does not have to compromise.
Great little find. Friendly, innovative, family run restaurant. Cosy and quirky. Attentive service throughout our meal. Wines were reasonably priced and the food was lovely. My sea bass fillets on crushed peas were delicious as was my husbands smoked duck and cherry starter. Not quite so enamoured with my soused mackerel starter which was served slightly warm which I found it a bit strange, but the sticky toffee desert was fab. We had a wonderful evening and left the restaurant feeling happy. Kim
The meal was truly amazing. Cooked well with fantastic quality ingredients. Recommended to us by a friend and will return. Nice little restaurant that's got great service.
cena in famiglia. qualità eccellente. servizio buono. atmosfera piacevole. dolci squisiti.
Went there for a family lunch. The food was really nice and the people who run the place are lovely. I would highly recommend this little gem.
Another excellent five -course themed menu evening with an inventive range of chicken and egg dishes, ranging from a super roast chicken consommé with Asian mushrooms to start, through to a highly seasonal main course of poached chicken breast, panko egg, asparagus soldiers, hollandaise sauce and jersey royals, and a knockout dessert of Custard tart with raspberry sorbet. As ever, service was attentive and efficient.
A fantastic little restaurant that you would think is a old tea room. But don't be put off, the food and the service is second to none. The menu is changed regularly and there is always something new and tasty to try, especially the deserts for me. My personal favourite a Guiness and chocolate cake "delicious".

Food was excellent - perfect combination of flavour and not too fussy. Service also superb. Will definitely visit again. Prices also very reasonable for the quality.
I had a very good experience at Truffles Restaurant in Fareham. The food was fresh and creative, and the service was very attentive and efficient. I warmly recommend this place.
All 6 of us really did enjoy the food, All positive comments. Service could have been ever so slightly faster but that is the only, minor, area I could fault. Overall, fabulous!
Delightful service and delicious well presented food. Loved our evening there. It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted an intimate evening which was what we had. Thank you very much Truffles.
Wanted to take my husband out for a meal somewhere different as we’ve never been to Truffles. The food and service was really good. Would definitely go back. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Another hugely enjoyable monthly themed menu - 'Spring has Sprung', comprising watercress cappuccino; goat’s cheese double baked soufflé, roasted beetroot, mint vinaigrette; crab and chargrilled purple sprouting broccoli salad with chilli and lime dressing; roast Lamb rump, champ cake, spring greens, glazed carrots, agrodolce; rhubarb posset, poached rhubarb, Jamaican ginger crumb, gingerbread sorbet. Quality of cooking and service was excellent, and the new wine list and new 'Wines of the Month' offered some interesting possibilities for matching.
Super lunch with friends - we all had Halibut Scampi to start, Griddled Marlin Loin, and Hampshire Pork Chop for mains, followed by Chargrilled Pineapple, chilli and lime syrup, coconut sorbet , all from the set lunch menu - terrific value at 1 Course for £9.95, 2 Courses for £13.95, or 3 Courses for £15.95. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly and efficient service.
Lovely birthday lunch - we both had Pedro Ximenez glazed pork cheek, celeriac 3 ways; Pulled confit lamb milles feuilles, dauphinoise potato, spinach, sautéed lamb bacon and cauliflower, mint and caper jus; Poached rhubarb, rhubarb jelly, ginger crumb - all beautifully cooked and presented, with friendly and efficient service.
Excellent lunch - Steamed Red Mullet, Braised Peppers, Basil Oil, Smoked Anchovies; Pan-Fried Turbot Fillet, Smoked Mussel Risotto, Red Pepper Sauce, Broccoli. Good to find imaginative, well-cooked fish dishes alongside equally enticing meat and vegetarian choices on the menus. Organic Sicilian 'Wines of the Month' made good parings. Service friendly and efficient.
Very nice night, very good food and the red mullet starter was amazing. Didn't have the table clothes like in the pictures. Parking is very near by.
Amazing mother’s day fine dining at reasonable prices. Great meal and service - thanks very much for a lovely experience. All the ingredients are locally sourced and you can taste the difference.
Friendly attentive staff and gorgeous tasting food. Mother’s day menu provided plenty of choice for each course. Good selection of wines available. Will return soon.......
Great service but food left allot to be desired. Ordered celeriac and apple soup and only got 1 thin piece of sourdough to go with it. Good flavour of soup Main course was lamb confit with dauphinois and spinach bacon. With jus This was 16.95 and was just too salty Dessert peanut butter banana cake with toffee sauce. 5/5 for that Overall pleased but for those prices could use improvement
Great food and friendly staff but a bit chilly! Could do with an inner door rather than just a curtain between the entrance and the main seating area. Wouldn't put me off returning though.
Well designed menu, great chef, lovely staff. If you are looking for a great restaurant in Fareham, with five star food at affordable prices this is the place.
Delicious, high quality food and excellent service. There is a set dinner menu which is great value along side the a la Carte menu. Highly recommend.
Fantastic dining experience, hosts were lovely and the food was out of this world. Have eaten at a lot of top restaurants in London and this really was up there with the best of them. Couldn’t recommend highly enough if your in the area you have to go
Been a long time since our last visit but worth returning. Food was excellent as was service. Bit brighter than I last remember perhaps turn the lights down a touch but will definitely return.
Great meal - we enjoyed Truffles very much. Food great, service great. Will definitely go back when in Fareham again. Highly recommended if you are in town.
Very pleasant evening spent at Truffles. My partner and I were the only ones in the restaurant the whole time we were there so a bit of a shame that more people aren't coming here as it is a great restaurant, but lucky that we had the whole place to ourselves! Being the only customers the service was very attentive with the waitress/proprietor(?) checking at all the right times if everything was OK and generally very friendly and accommodating. The food was top notch and for the price, very good quality. I like how the 2-3 course menu is seasonal and thus changes regularly (a menu with a multitude of choices makes me suspicious); overall a very good restaurant - service, food and ambiance all great, the only slight negative is there is an odd smell when you first enter the restaurant but you soon don't notice it.
