There are Turkish kitchens, then there’s Turkish Kitchen, a Great Ducie Street restaurant with an auspicious past and a perfect location. The menu here is traditionally structured, with a selection of cold and hot meze kicking things off or, with a few to share among friends, forming a complete meal in and of themselves. Recommended grilled dishes include the karisik izgara – lamb and chicken shish kebab, chicken wings, lamb kofte, and chicken breast served with rice, salad and pita bread – but there’s also burgers and sandwiches to be had. Wine and beer, shakes and smoothies, traditional Turkish tea and desserts round off a comprehensive offering. Found just on Great Ducie Street just up the road from the Manchester Arena, Turkish Kitchen is an ideal place to toast freedom and make mealtimes melodious.
