Heard so may great things about 2 cats and thought I better check it out for myself, wasn't disappointed the food was amazing, service tentative, myself and my girlfriend went for the menu including the alcohol with each course again great choice, anyone thinking about going don't think just go
I wasn't sure what 'new baltic' cuisine was before eating at Two Cats. What it is is absolutely delicious! The crab was the standout dish in an already standout menu, and the wine flight offered a perfect accompaniment to each dish. Excellent, imaginative and interesting food, all served with enormous attention to detail by knowledgeable staff, in a wonderful atmosphere. We shall be going back.
But if confusion at first as they thought we were pescetarians however once this was sorted you good was amazing! Could have asked for better service!
My party of 4 were in agreement that the whole experience was excellent. The menu was slightly unusual but the food was amazing. The environment and service could also not be faulted. I would be more than happy to return here and would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic experience. Food was excellent together with flight menu - superb. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Quirky venue. Totally recommend - what a find.
Great food and wine pairing! Beautiful restaurant with brilliant service. Will definitely return. Hidden away from the Main Street which makes it seem like a secret - 10 out of 10!
This venue is tucked away, and features some lovely stained glass. The food was interesting, well cooked and well presented. I think there had been more of an Eastern European slant until recently, and I wonder if they should have kept that niche, as the menu is less intriguing than it was previously. The waitresses were pleasant, but should perhaps explain each course as it is presented. There were no amuse-bouches, which is unusual with this number of courses at this price level. The flight of wines was well-chosen to accompany the courses, and the servings were generous, but the waitresses description of the wines was generic, most wines described as "fruity". We had a pleasant evening overall and enjoyed our meal. Were we glad we went ? Yes. Would we go there again? Not sure; perhaps yes if they make a bit more of an effort.
Very pleasant experience, food different from usual and of exceptional quality. Personell very nice and friendly. Nice atmosphere, room a bit cold, music not appropriate and a bit loud.
was a very interesting meal and allowed me to sample foods I've not eaten before - can't say I would have octopus again but it wasnt unpleasant - it was actually very filling and meaty. The celeriac "pasta" was fantastic. Service was great and staff very friendly - we'll be back to be get our tastebuds educated further when the menu changes
Had a lovely meal. Staff were very nice and knowledgeable about what they were serving. They adapted the dishes for my partners nut alergie. Will definitely be going again in the future. I even liked a dish with Marmite and I hate the stuff.
A very different but entirely pleasurable dining experience. The tasting menu was a feast of new flavours and textures, service was great and the whole deal was good value including a limited range of wines - also very different. Deserves to do very well.
Fantastic, creative food, a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The bread and smoked butter was amazing. Free still and sparkling water was a nice touch. Only negative was limited selection of soft drinks.
food was fun and different so a really good culinary experience. On top of that the restaurant was well set out and designed and the service was fun, welcoming and perfectly cheeky.
Great restaurant. Inventive food. Best bread and butter I've tasted so far. 10/10. Will definitely return. Seven course taster menu is a bargain. Highly recommended.
Without a doubt the best meal I've ever had! I've travelled all over the world and eaten at hundreds of amazing restaurants and this one is my favourite. It's romantic, warm, and the food is perfection.
Great food and some really interesting decision. Had the wine flight which was superb and would recommend that. The non wine drinks choice was somewhat limited. Worth a visit.
Friendly place. Food very well thought out and presented. Lovely service throughout. The restaurant is off the beaten track, so it feels like we're in on a secret!
Amazing, unusual food. Great service. Some very good cooking using unusual ingredients, for example, candied vegetable skins! There's nowhere like this in Birmingham, and my money, only Adams is better.
Amazing. Unique flavours, well balanced and all in a beautiful setting. Go for the matched wines, they really do bring something extra to each course.
Truly great, inventive yet satisfying food with equally impressive surroundings, service & soundtrack. We are happy fans who were very glad to be back again!
Interesting food - nothing like the menu on the website. One dish substituted on the no-choice menu which we didn't mind. Fantastic sourdough bread and smoked butter. Food arrives at a reasonable pace and is all small plates, explained by the friendly staff. The flavours are intriguing without being especially challenging and there are plenty of things I'd never previously tasted. Especially liked the beetroot with damson juice, pierogi in onion consommé, pork with chestnut and yeast extract gravy and both desserts. Woodruffe ice cream is brilliant. Short wine list - most people were drinking beer. Enjoyable evening - would go again.
Great food, great service, great experience! Only improvement would be slighter bigger portions. Great food, great service, great experience! Only improvement would be slighter bigger portions.
The food was excellent, interesting and beautifully cooked and creatively developed into beautiful recipes. We also combined the beautiful tasting menu with a drinks menu obviously well thought as to each drink's compatability with each course. The staff were lovely and so helpful in explaining each course and accompanying drink - everyone was passionate about the food and drink and were willing to take the time to talk through each course if you wanted that, or leave you to enjoy if you did not. It was a special meal for us for our 30th anniversary and it was very definitely a momentous occasion and one I will remember and hope to revisit in the future.
Amazing food and experience, loved the atmosphere and every single dish. Would love to see a new menu soon, so I can revisit :) !
Excellent food & service and with advanced notice they catered for my vegetarian needs. The venue is inviting & comfortable - it was s lovely experience
Outstanding service from all of the staff. Very good food and a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Overall, one of the best dining experiences in Birmingham
Fabulous experience, beautiful intimate surroundings. Highly professional, well informed staff serving wonderful food. We took the drinks pairing service and would highly recommend this to accompany the food which was tasty and unique. We will be visiting again!
I highly recommend Two Cats Kitchen, we went for our 2 year anniversary meal & weren't disappointed. An amazing Eastern European 7 course taster menu with seasonal produce - all served by friendly & knowledgeable staff. Thank you :)
Fantastic food, great service and a wonderful experience with one of the best new restaurants in Birmingham. Would recommend this for any special occasion. A+
Great food and fantastic service! Really enjoyed the food which had an interesting mix of flavours which were all well explained. The service was extremely good and punctual. We would recommend
A really interesting culinary experience. I won't pretend that every dish was to my taste (I can't do raw steak, but that's my issue), but there were some incredible moments. The sorrel was a genius touch. We were also given a nice birthday drink for my other half on the house. Definitely recommended and will visit again.
Amazing all round! The food was truly excellent, with a wide variety or interesting flavours and combinations. Service was equally well balanced - friendly and attentive but not too full on. Will go again!
A fantastic and unusual birthday experience. An opportunity to taste a range of new ingredients on an exciting menu. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will certainly recommend and come back to try a new menu.
Exquisite food, very impressed! The flavours were really well thought out and presented in a beautiful way. Would definitely go back. Waiter was also fab, super friendly and attentive
every course was delicious and clearly prepared and presented with the greatest of care. Service felt very personal, with just the right level of attentiveness from floor staff. Highlights were the tubers and the pear. Can't wait to go back!
Great experience and staff were very friendly. However I didn't think too highly of the food and was left wanting more at the end of the meal.
Certainly one of my favourite restaurants and a perfect treat for my birthday with loved ones! Great food, friendly service and never disappoint! Can't wait to go again!
Really cozy local with a warm atmosphere. The staff is really kind and the flavours were all well combined together. Well done! We'll return there soon :)
