I booked a long time ago for our family of 5 (which included 2 children) for Sunday lunch. We were all on holiday from Oxfordshire but had knew about Upwey Wishing Well. We loved the food (a generous Sunday roast and particularly delicious gravy), the service was warm, friendly and efficient, the atmosphere wonderful and the walk through the gardens after lunch was magical. The only negative was the noise level once the restaurant started filling up, which made our table conversation difficult. Nothing you can do about that, I guess… Overall a memorable experience and we will definitely be going again.

This lovely place is a real gem. The staff are always super helpful and friendly. The setting is magical too, feels like you take a breath from life. I had quiche which was delicious and all the food coming out to customers looked very well presented & tasty! Thank you to the Wishing Well team

Came back for a second visit following a great lunch experience a month or so back. Excellent service but a little disappointed with the £25 per head high tea that was for my wife’s birthday treat. Great quality but would have liked just a little more savoury choice. Also had to ask for a quiche portion as it was left off. Lovely location. Despite these comments would return!

Although it was a sunny day and some guests were sat outside, all 3 doors were open, which made indoor dining very drafty

Despite a very very busy Sunday our lunch came out without much of a wait. Cauliflower cheese wasn’t worth putting on the plate really… and I think I would’ve preferred to help myself to a bowl of veggies rather than everything on the plate to start with. Wait staff looked after us really well. I would definitely go back to eat there again.

A friend who was in our party of six had thoroughly recommended the Upwey Wishing Well to us. She and all the party were slightly disappointed with the food which was dry. I ate my sourdough toast with my fingers (and teeth!!) for fear of the crusts going everywhere if I was able to cut it with my knife and fork. The eggs were overcooked as were two cheese scones. On this occasion, not the best.

From the Sunday Carvery we both had Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Wonderful tastes and the portion size was bang on. It was our fist visit - but it will not be our last! Oh, and the garden, Source of the River Wey beautifully crafted. Thank you.
