It was a proper Sunday lunch, served in enormous portions with gorgeous veg, lovely sunny waiting staff. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Dinner for two on a Friday evening. Food and service were both lovely and we thought the meal (including cocktails) was good value. Portion sizes are large (especially starting with the sharing platter) and the chocolate bread and butter pudding is a fantastic dessert.

Lovely food and friendly staff , really nice environment, comes highly recommended. I do think they need to start taking cards people don't walk around with cash. I would still go even if cash required

Food was good, but several items were off the menu such that my vegetarian friend struggled to make a choice. The service was mediocre and rather curt.

Been many times for birthdays etc. and the food is very tasty (especially the calamari starter!!). The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The restaurant is compact, but there's enough room between tables that you don't feel too overlooked. Overall - a relaxed atmosphere and the food is normally very good.

Excellent experience. As a wine merchant I was very pleased to see the waitress being honest about her knowledge and not trying to bs. Also she was happy to learn. She was a star as far as I'm concerned and the food was of a higher standard than the prices would suggest. The outstanding dish for me was the chicken livers starter which had a lovely classic sauce everything was of a good standard. One small gripe was that no bread was offered. With sauces and gravies like this you want to moop them up!!!! We will return

Village Kitchen delivered again with excellent food and service. Both the config duck and pork were outstanding. Service was friendly without being overbearing, this place is a gem.

Good food and excellent service. Fish dish was slightly salty, but the others were all very nice. Good value deal with the two courses for £17.

We've eaten at the Village Kitchen a few times now and we've never been disappointed. The menu has changed slightly, I had the pork belly which was lovely! Would definitely recommend.

Excellent food - all four of us really enjoyed our starter and main course. Desserts were a bit disappointing (pear & blueberry crumble was too sweet) but maybe we're just fussy. Very reasonable, and really like the jar of jelly babies that comes with the bill :0) We'll definitely go back.

The food was very good. We waited a while because there was a big party in the back room but the waitresses apologize and were very attentive.

Great food, well priced, amazing waitress Rheanna, she really made our dining experience an absolute pleasure. The parking and new one way system is a bit of a nightmare but we will be back. Thanks VK.

The Village Kitchen never fails to impress. Food is superb, presentation delicious, portions generous and staff attentive but do not rush you! Taking advantage of their mid week offer, also gave excellent value. We will go again soon.

The food as always was excellent and the service was great and attentive! The sharing desert plate is more than enough for 4 and the sweetie jar at the end of the night! Great end of evening treat!

Great service, very welcoming. Food arrived quickly and nicely presented. We had a roast lunch, we were a little disappointed that the meat appeared to be a beef steak and a lamb steak, rather than cut from a joint. Meat was good quality, but not what you would expect for a Sunday lunch.

The latest in a series of very good meals at the VK! We have visited the restaurant on a number of occasions and almost always been delighted with the standard of cooking.

Lovely food and service. Nothing overly special but good to have as a local restaurant nearby to visit. Would return again but probably other places I'd go to first

We loved our Fri evening trip to The Village Kitchen. The waitress was super friendly and informed us about special's . She was attentive but without hovering! Which was lovely. We both had fish and my Hake was beautifully cooked . My girlfriends Sea Bass was lovely too...We sat at the table closest to the4 bar! Away from the hub-ub in the centre of the restaurant. If you want a pleasant evening with great food . Then I would definitely recommend a trip to VK. Simon and Anna

I went to VK twice in the space of a week - it is that good! Fantastic, flavoursome, high quality food and a cozy atmosphere! The staff are extremely hospitable and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this place. No doubt that this place will become one of my restaurants of choice.

Our table (of 5 people) selected from the set menu for £28 and all 3 courses were perfectly cooked and very well presented - the calamari starter was particularly good. The service was friendly and relaxed and we were given time to make our choices. There was a good selection of wine to choose from and we also tried a couple of cocktails, which were very nice. Overall a relaxed and tasty dining experience.

Food was well presented and tasted great. However, being a Tuesday night there wasn't a lot of atmosphere which meant we eat quickly and didn't have dessert. Have previously visited on a Sunday and it was great!

Fantastic as always to be here. Food delicious, never had a bad meal here. My father in law says they have the best bread and butter pudding he's ever tasted, and I think they have the best tuna steak! Love the quirky haribo instead of mints with the bill! So thoughtful. Service always friendly and warm. WORTH A VISIT!!!

The Village Kitchen has a very comfortable ambiance with the service just about right, attentive when you needed something, discreetly absent when you didn't. The menu was interesting and varied, we had chicken livers and gnocchi as starters and partridge and rib eye steak as mains all excellently prepared. Possibly the only minus point was the feeling that they would have liked us to leave a little quicker possibly because of the next table reservation. Overall pretty good and would definitely come back again.
