Very warm welcome, attentive staff, although it was quiet. We were given plenty of time to make our choice from the menu. We were advised what wasn’t available only a couple of things. I ordered the roast dinner my husband ordered a steak. Steak was cooked to his request and was really nice. Roast beef and veg was well cooked and nicely presented. The only negative was my meal was only warm not hot so by the time I was finishing it was cold. I would probably go again but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

This is a honest review and very true.....the scallop starters were shocking the scallops were non existent under half on one scallop if lucky with something what looked and tasted like rivita shapped toast with a tasteless purée of some sort. And my shredded pork bon bons were what I thought were Aldi pork meatballs were tasteless my main I must say was really nice and the salt and pepper chips were out of this world but my girlfriends steak and blackstickes sauce wasn't very good. The steak looked and was cooked to a good standard but the cheese sauce was weak and watery and didn't taste of a strong cheese that was black stick blue. the tomato was mushy and the mushrooms was not cooked and was raw lucky the head of house taken the steak of the bill witch was good practice and the wine selection was fantastic atmosphere was busy maybe abit to busy for a restaurant environment. All in all a good 5/10

We were staying at The Wagon and Horse and booked a table for 7pm on Saturday evening. I would recommend booking a table, as this is a popular place. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We had a drink before going to our table and looked over the menu. The menu is very good and local suppliers are used. The food is excellent and is restaurant quality not “pub grub”. Scallops for starter were lovely and cooked to perfection. Cannon of lamb and the ribeye steak also excellent. Everthing beautifully presented. Service was good but not intrusive. Wine good. Excellent cheese board (would have served 3). Excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely staff, and excellent menu. We had roast dinner, so didn't really need to say main menu, but we all thought the dessert menu was absolutely excellent!

Booked and took my boyfriend for Valentine's. The 5 course menu did not disappoint. The food was fabulous; included prosecco and even a small pack of love hearts.

Stopped at wagon and horses during long drive from windsor to Edinburgh. The food was excellent, the decor throughout the pub and restaurant was very smart and, most importantly, all of the staff were very friendly.

The food was outstanding particularly the king prawn starter. Both main courses were very, very good. The desserts extremely indulgent and tasty. The standard of service and the hospitality was outstanding. Paul, Carol and the team should be very proud of what they do because they do it so well.

Had a Japanese Soul Beef. It was nice but the rice was just slightly undercooked. Overall experience was good. We had a really nice meal there the other night with different dishes.

Very disappointed in my main course of baby back ribs. It was a huge portion of ribs but very dry, had to ask for the bbq sauce and received an apology because it was “home made”. The sauce was ok but not really bbq sauce. Apart from that the service is very good and the starters were good. We were not charged for my main course which I think was very fair of them and as a result would not hesitate to eat there again.

Lovely Sunday roast. Just needs more roast potatoes (you get 2 very small ones) and a bit more mash added to the plate! Then perfect.

Lovely starter of a large bowl of soup was very tasty . Husbands main of pheasant was delicious with a mirad of flavours. My main of sole was a little bland and the sauce was not actually cooked quite enough and tasted of flour. A little of the main drag.

Excellent - we arrived to a very friendly welcome from all the staff - the choice of ales and wines are broad enough to cater for all tastes and complement the splendid menu. The Wagon & Horses is now our firm favourite place to dine in Lancaster.
