Great time, roast can be recommended, so can the steak we had that last time

Very noisy, lots of children, wooden surrounds so echoing ++ Otherwise, staff very nice, nice outdoor area.

Food was pretty average. The roast wasn’t great and the other meals were just ok. Second time eating here and probably wouldn’t bother again. Service was also pretty patchy. Drinks didn’t come until after our food had arrived and we chased for them.

Staff were all new, very disorganised. Didn’t seem to have anyone who was experienced and the food order was incomplete at the end of our visit. Food ok. Slightly disappointing

Lovely ambience, staff friendly and flexible, nice food, bar a bit slow and shame it's not full table service and the app auto charges service.

Great food. It did come out at random times and one of the pizzas was wrong but it was corrected. Friendly staff and lots of space outside.

I've been to this pub on other occasions and found both the food and atmosphere great. This is the first time I went for Sunday roast. The meat was good. The other ingredients weren't super tasty or fresh (especially the veg). Yorkshire pudding was yum but had to pay extra to get one with the pork roast... Waiters were kind and friendly. Drinks came after food. Bill wasn't brought to us when asked for so we paid at the till. Will definitely give it another shot but probably not for Sunday roast!

Nice enough venue, waiters were polite but a bit disengaged, vegan burger was cold inside when it arrived so had to send back. Replacement one was fine but came well after my table had finished their meal.

Had a lovely lunch at The Rosendale. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was really good - quality ingredients that were well prepared and presented. Chips have improved since our last visit; they were no longer skin-on and were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, as chips should be. Great wine to go with our steaks.

We were 4 people, including 1 in a wheelchair. We were very kindly and efficiently accommodated. The staff were helpful and patient with us. All the food was great too, a scotch egg, fish and chips, pulled pork burger and ravioli. Oh yes, and we couldn't resist the puds, apple crumble and creme brulee. We'll be back!

We came as part of the local residents’ deal and for my husband’s birthday and had a great time. We’ve never actually eaten here before, but the steak and ale pie and the fish and chips were fab, as was the service, thanks for a great evening!

good roast, potatoes and cabbage were fab and staff were kind and attentive even though busy easter sunday service ! vegan wellington was slightly odd, and plates were cleared while we were still eating, but other than this a nice roast :)

It was our second visit in this pub and again, food was amazing! Pretty busy and we were waiting a bit for someone to pick up our order but it’s nothing to complain about taking under consideration time of the day and amount of people that staff had to serve. Overall, great visit.

Got seated early which was a plus. Where we were seating was bizarre, asked to move but got told fully booked. Waited 20 minutes for drinks and 40 minutes for starter both of which we had to ask for. Another family asked to be moved and got moved. We asked again to be moved and we’re finally moved. Got served our mains over a hour after we arrived. Then at the end got charged £10+ surcharge which I refused to pay. Not a great dining experience this time unfortunately!!

Lovely pub with friendly, relaxed atmosphere and good food - small bites and proper pub grub depending on what you’re after.

We have been going to the Rosendale for many years and we love it! During that time it's changed chefs a fair few times. Recently the pizzas have been disappointing. Also the portion size for the pasta was rather small. The staff are always lovely but there are not enough of them and so the service is rather slow. There was a table in the pub area with drunk and noisy people playing a game and shouting loudly. It wasn't until we complained to the staff that the manager asked them to please quieten down. Sure, it's a pub, but the restaurant area is right by the pub area!

I had a nice lunch but my friend’s fish was off and the replacement ravioli was very meagre for £15.50

The roasts we wanted weren't available but we were there late in the day so understandable. We had our second choices (me: fish and chips, partner: pork) and they were lovely. And filling!

This is the best Sunday lunch around. Ooh that gravy mm.

Good roast (though could be improved if gravy was on the side…)
