The Rosendale

We were freezing as our table was next to a garden door frequently left open, our daughter’s main course was forgotten and the food wasn’t as good as on previous visits. Our waitress was lovely though.

4 of us had different dishes, all really tasty and good quality. Great welcoming staff.

Lovely Sunday roast the pork and the gravy was delicious. Friendly staff too looking forward to going again

Excellent service and fab waitress, Jan. She made sure we had a pick of the tables, was very attentive and accommodating. We chose Steak and Guinness Pie - absolutely yummy and the Chicken Snitzel - delicious..with a glass of Remy and my guest had a pot of tea etc. The portions were superb and the food hot and fresh. New staff came on duty around 5 or 6pm and they were good rather than very good, so we ordered two hot chocolates with crisps and my only criticism is that the hot chocolate was warm and not hot. I like to wait for the drink to cool down a little so we requested it to be changed. It was done without a fuss and returned mildly hotter but still not hot enough. The machine/or drink maker that makes the drink must use cold milk rather than hot as the drink can only be enjoyed in one go as it gets cold rather quickly. This was a disappointment and maybe the machine needs changing or perhaps,staff can use the microwave to heat the drinks up in? We asked for the drinks to be heated up and we were told that there wasn't a microwave on site? Other than that, The Rosendale is a lovely pub with better staff service in the afternoon than evening on today's experience.

We booked an early evening meal with my children and parents and the staff and food were of the highest level. Attentive but Oliver rushing us and cheerful and accommodating they made for a really enjoyable Sunday evening.

Amazing. Hostess (American lady) was fab!! Food is good. Thought the portions would be smaller so ordered extra. Portions are good portions! I didn’t need the extras!!

Has to be the best Sunday Roast locally. Delicious roast lunch great atmosphere and lovely staff. I look forward to each visit.

The food was tasty and we enjoyed it. We could see the staff were trying their hardest but unfortunately the management here is very poor. First of all we were asked if we'd like to sit on a high table in the bar area even though we'd pre-booked the restaurant so we said no to this and then were seated in the restaurant so not sure what the problem was. We waited over an hour for our main course and we noticed a lot of tables were having the same issue. One large table ended up paying and leaving because they'd waited so long. When my main came out it came without a Yorkshire pudding even though the menu states it comes with one, when I asked they said they'd ran out. My partner's meal had hardly any potatoes so I then asked if we could at least have some more potatoes to make up for it which they did but its a shame we had to ask. We would have stayed for pudding but didn't as the place was so hectic, the staff looked very stressed and overwhelmed so not a very relaxing Sunday dinner unfortunately.

First time at the Rosendale food was good atmosphere was good enjoyed our afternoon

Nice staff, food was ok, vegan roast was just plain cooked rice and lentils in pastry. Super dry and just carb on carb on carb. What’s wrong with a nice nut roast or extra firm marinated tofu?

Great as usual, 3 types of steak in the menu which is always a bonus. I had white fish which was very good. A quick and attentive service.

We went for a birthday dinner for my partner, when we got there the staff said HB to him which was nice. The food was lovely, the service was OK (the main staff who served us was great and attentive, but other staff were rather busy chatting to each other by the till. Since last year we noticed that most of waiting staff look like students and girls seem to chat a lot and not attentive. Once they notice and come to us they are friendly and do their job). We were full before dessert so didn't have chance to have a cake unfortunately. Upon leaving the staff said HB again (thank you!). The Rosendale still remains as our fave local pub.

I'd been to the Rosendale a couple of times before and was really pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. This time we came for a roast but no chicken or beef roast option available, admittedly was 6pm. We then chose a burger and lamb. The burger was one of the worst I've ever had and the lamb was really nice but very fatty. There wasn't much else on the menu. The staff were nice but first delivered the food and then we had to wait a while for cutlery, which made the food go a bit cold whilst waiting. We were sat at the front of the pub which also meant having to go to order at the bar. For the price, the food wasn't up to scratch and I urge them to improve their burgers if they have such a limited menu. Shame as we really enjoyed going there in the past

I'd say we tend to have a consistent experience, the food never lets us down. Each time we go, the food is fresh, of top quality & flavor, making it a reliable local favorite. Definately value for money and we'd recommend the calamari.

More limited menu available than advertised. Vegetables/salad not so good. Fish/pizza etc very good.

The Rosendale always have good food and are friendly. A nice place to celebrate or just meet for drinks

Had a lovely lunch here, food was very tasty, we were able to sit outside as the weather was good. Plenty of parasols to keep us in shade. Staff were very polite and helpful.

Great place fr lunch went with two friends had cod & chips so tasty fresh cod & chips so yummy mouth watering & the pizza was the best we also got amazing fifty percent off the bill what more could y ask fr we will definitely come bk Thks

The food was great but I’m guessing the pub was understaffed as the service was non-existent.

Our starters were fantastic, I had an aright rib eye steak with chips and rocket which I found good enough, my wife had the burger and we both agreed it was very dense and compressed, like eating a hocky puck, being so thick and tightly compact it tasted a little raw inside but edible nonetheless, some of the staff were lovely, mostly the lady that swapped our table at our request and brought our first drink. Thank you.

The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very good.

We ordered a bottle of wine but were given a different label than ordered & the apple crumble was not edible . Otherwise everything else was alright.

Our experience was amazing from start to finish. The staff were very helpful and efficient. The food was presented top class, arrived hot and very tasty. And to put the icing on the cake the whole bill was 50% off. We will definitely be going back… very soon.

We like the Rosendale as our local. The pub is nice and has a good atmosphere. The food is usually good and the staff are nice but a bit slow and ponderous sometimes.

I choose the pork spare ribs which were not very nice. However to be fair when I complained to the server the cost of the meal was deducted from our bill.

Great food but OMG turn down the speaker on the pib quiz - ruined our evening. There were two tables playing and the rest of us had to suffer it. We asked you three times to turn it down.
