good food, atten tive staff, meal served efficiently,cold premises due to our booking time of 2.00 pm and they only opened at 2.00 pm, evening meal times would be warmer

Lovely restaurant, great location, excellent food - we were 4 people dining and all had different starters, mains etc and not one of us was disappointed - we will definitely be back; and soon I hope. {:O) x

Beautiful restaurant and seated quickly. The food was amazing and good portions, also plenty of choice. Only negative is that our order for food was not taken for some time. Other than that loved it.

Absolutely outstanding restaurant. Wonderful, creative food, fresh ingredients and beautiful flavours. A step out of the ordinary Indian dining experience. Excellent, friendly, courteous service. Highly recommended.

We had an itison voucher, and the deal was ok. Waiter was a bit vague on what was included, some dishes have a supplement and it varies as to the dishes. I asked the waiter to recommend a spicy lamb dish, which wasn't very spicy (even my wife thought that, and she doesn't do spicy). Drinks are reasonable service to start with was a little slow, but as more staff came on, it evened out. All in all was OK, but don't know if I'd rush back. On a separate note the itison vouchers have to be seated before 5, and the staff seemed to change at 6. Our parents were ther yesterday, and it seems the staff tried to charge them full price, even though they had presented their voucher when they arrived, as per policy. Took them almost 15 minutes to get things sorted out.

Excellent meal with a good and varied menu. Only let down was that when we first got our pompadoms they served a dip tray that had been used and had dirty spoons. Otherwise great food and we will return. Cost was not too bad for a city centre restaurant. Atmosphere was good too.

Lovely food, not over spicy. Staff could be more attentive and the music needs improved....a little dated. Glad we went but would not be rushing back.

Can't fault the food, only real issue was that instead of being sat downstairs where the atmosphere was - we were ushered upstairs to the over spill area. This was even after making a reservation ahead of the meal....

Excellent food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anybody, a real hidden gem. The food was simply delicious and a welcome alternative to traditional indian food.

Amazing food and friendly service. The restaurant has a really lovely atmosphere and the waiter was great and recommended dishes for us. I can't remember the name of the dish I had but it was lamb shank and was truly delicious! The meat fell off the bone. They were also happy to accommodate dietary requirements and their menu is very clear for intolerances. The bill at the end was a pleasant surprise too, fantastic value for money. Will be back soon.

First time at restaurant for my sons 18th and wasn't disappointing. Great service and even better food, amazing cocktails and mocktails also, will definitely return

Only had mains, but the food was absolutely delicious, and very flavoursome. So good that we are going back in March for second helpings ! Highly recommended.

We had an excellent meal and the staff were helpful and friendly. We felt it was was a little on the pricey side for Indian style food.

I love 8848. The food, the service and the atmosphere is fantastic. My wife and I were there for our Valentines night out, it was a Saturday evening and it was very busy but at no point did we feel that we were waiting too long for our food, or drinks. I had the lamb shank for a main and it's really good, meat is so tender and for anyone that is put off Indian food because of spice, this has almost none, just a background heat... Yum, wish I was there now!

Everything was really excellent - ambience, friendly service, quality of service, a good menu and excellent quality of food. Very pleased to see Nepalese food on the menu.

Staff could not have been more helpful. We knew what we wanted and they made the dishes exactly as we wished. Very tasty food which you can taste even when it was very spicy. Far too often heat ruins everything. This definitely does not. We be back very soon.

It was a great restaurant with fantastic service. I went with my 9 year old who just loves a curry. She loved it especially the towels at the end.

The most delicious indian/nepalese food I have ever tasted! Served hot and with great service! Try the King Scallops, very tasty! The King prawns in coconut milk were superb!

Good restaurant, with lovely food and very friendly helpful staff. Downstairs has better atmosphere but when busy upstairs is slightly quieter. Very central location, I would certainly recommend a visit.

Friendly, attentive staff. Very enjoyable meal which was nicely presented. Beautifully decorated, clean restaurant, Hot hand wash tissues were a nice finishing touch. Would eat here again.

Went for xmas dinner. The food was Excellent and well presented. Staff were polite and attentive but not overly so. Would definitely recommend for a great night out.

Easy to book using Quandoo. 8848 fantastic restaurant with sublime food. Staff attentive without being overbearing. First time at 8848 and definitely won't be our last.
