steak was great, wine was lovely, garlic bread was burnt and very dry, carbonnarra looked as if it has been sitting on the hotplate for a while. no flavour to the meal. needed seasoning. then went to pay and card machine wasnt working!, nightmare had to go to a cashpoint to pay for the meal.

Ran out of lots of starters. Waited ages for mains to arrive. Told they only had one t-bone then Served 4 mixed grills with raw chicken.

It was quite cold, but they switched an electric heater on. The area around the door was in quite bad condition and there was a cracked window. I asked for a medium rare steak but it was rare and I had to to send it back. The pepper sauce wasn't very good. I was expecting a much classier restaurant, especially for the price. The waiter was very friendly and attentive - the only good part of the experience.

Not really encouraged to go back. Restaurant tired looking. Food okay but nothing special. Obviously this was just one experience and other outlets will probably be different

I do not like leaving negative reviews but when I am paying almost £200 for a family birthday treat I expect more than this. We waited half an hour before being asked which drinks we wanted and then another 45 minutes before we saw any food. Unfortunately the food was not of the quality I expect from an Aberdeen Angus Steak house and did not match the menu. Ordered a 12oz rib eye but convinced it was only 8oz. Some of the deserts had clearly been around for a while and were of very poor quality The staff did their utmost to make us laugh but alas it was mainly because, like a previous reviewer said, it's the nearest thing I have seen to a Fawlty Towers episode. It would be far easier to write what was good about our visit. There is a lot of work to be done to reach an expected high standard but unfortunately I won't be back to find out. Great shame but not for me.

After a change in hands i was apprehensive, but i was pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, choice of food and cooked to perfection, just as good as the previous owners!

Unfortunately the card reader machine wasn't working the night we ate here and we were only told this fact when we sat down to order our food so we had to leave the restaurant to find the nearest cash machine, luckily only 5 minutes walk away. Starters were good with generous portions. Main meal was a bit disappointing. Ordered well done steaks which were bloody in the middle and price didn't include any chips or veg as all sides were extra.

Great atmosphere and service and good quality food. Feels like a family run business with friendly staff. My boyfriend and I have now visited 3 times and are yet to be disappointed

Great food, really good service. Went late so it was very quiet and perhaps that’s why we got extra attention but we enjoyed our evening very much

The restaurant wasn't open despite taking my booking. Very annoying as it mean having to find somewhere at short notice on a busy evening. There wasn't any indication as to why they were not open

Food was OK, however no rump steak and no malbec available, but still on menu to order! Saturday night too so who's in charge of ensuring adequate stocks available?! Not really impressed.

Absolutely disgusting. Fatty, chewy, impossible to eat or cut - would never return in a million years. Had such high hopes but they were quickly dashed.

A reasonable wait for the food but definitely worth it. Friendly staff, no pressure to buy expensive drinks, all in all if i was visiting Brighton again i would happily eat at ASH again.

Thank you for looking after the 3 11 year old boys who came in yesterday to celebrate a birthday. They had a great time, they enjoyed the food and they told me the staff was very kind.

Walked out after an hour. Booked a table for 4... two starters eventually came out, another was incorrect and 4th was forgotten. Starter that did arrive was cold. They weren’t even busy - 2 other tables! Avoid! Terrible.

The staff were were not happy, almost annoyed by customers. Repeatedly forgot our drinks, got our food orders wrong and forgot items ordered. Very run down restaurant. Staff appeared to be arguing. Steak itself was nice- even tho 2 were wrongly cooked. Other then that very dissapointed

We went in a groupon offer, but still expected a good meal. Sadly the burger meal, didn’t arrive with the bacon advertised, the bun was dry and toasted too much, ordered onion rings but they weren’t delivered either until we mentioned it and after waiting we received the bacon and onion separately. Considering this is advertised as a steak house, the burgers were not tasty and Over cooked. These are £9 on the menu so hence if we had paid full price I would of complained. The chips also were like oven chips. The only good thing was the bottle of corona. Overall very disappointed.

It was really bad. The decor was awful, we had to book a time and date despite the restaurant being almost empty when we arrived, the menu had a coloured over bit at the bottom which used to read "100% Scottish Angus Beef" and the meal its self was awful and it had no flavour and even though it was served with "steak chips" they were very clearly oven chips and the "vegetable medley" consisted of some pieces of cauliflower and tomatos. The only reason I went was becasue I had a groupon deal which gave me this meal for 2 for £21, it should have been £49!!! Overall, terrible.

Champagne was just pink fizzy wine. Sirloin steak was 40% gristle. I would not recommend Aberdeen Steak House to my friends or to anyone else.

We were most disappointed with this restaurant. The steak we had was perfectly cooked but this was the only positive in the dining experience. The decor was old and tired and the toilets smelled dreadfully. The restaurant was almost empty apart from a few "friends" sitting talking in the other room, I felt like we were intruding on a private party. The veg and salad we had was limp and tasteless and the pepper sauce was thin and likewise tasteless. I asked for red wine and was given no winelist to choose from, a glass of some sort of wine just appeared. Plastic coated tablecloths wiped down between diners and a menu that had been visibly altered to remove the Scottish source of their meat all contributed to an experience I will not be recommending to anyone else. We will not be back.

Staff were very friendly and attentive so it was a nice experience. The decor is tired but the prices reflect that. We had 2 burgers and 2 beers for £6 through Groupon, which was fantastic value. The burger was cooked nicely and was very tasty, cheese was processed and would have been better as a slice of real cheese, in a nice non-poncy white sesame seeded bun which held together well (i don't like a fancy brioche or ciabata bun with a burger), chips were nicely cooked. Salad was a bit 1980s, and the meal would have liked much better on a smaller plate. There was plenty of it but it was served on a huge pizza or muxed grill plate. I imagine it would be a good place for a cheap and cheerful family meal. I would go again for lunch whilst shopping but not as an evening so. Couldn't knock the value or the service it just needs dragging into the 2018.

Terribly cooked food, not what was ordered for most of our party. Drinks on the bill that weren't ordered. Service charge billed twice? I understand that we were a big party but there were several members of staff and sadly all of us were very disappointed.

Visited last Friday afternoon for lunch to celebrate my girlfriends graduation from Brighton University. Food was very good but they didn't have any bottled beer as the delivery hadn't turned up. No problem, had a pint of Stella which was fantastic. Really nice chilled out place to go and eat steak. Will return again.

The waiter was lovely. But the food was not great. The steaks were fatty and the chips were over cooked. The veggie burger was bland. The restaurant was cold. The ladies toilet had no toilet paper and the men’s had hand dryer was broken. When asked for toilet roll there was none in the building! We felt sorry for the editor he was so nice and had only been there 2 days and with people complaining about different things he didn’t have an easy job but he coped very well.
