We used to love The Al Frash but .. Oh Dear, last night was very very poor. We waited 80 minutes for the mains to arrive. After complaining about the long wait food finally arrived... My meal (Butterfly special) was good, others (eg Chicken Rogan) "ok", but my son's meat balti was the worst Balti I have ever tasted, very bland with a strange sweet smoky taste. Part of the meal never arrived at all and the noise level was such that we were having to shout across the table to each other. The waiting staff were friendly and clearly working hard but something is very wrong here. One of the poorest curries I have had anywhere, £70 that I would much rather have spent elsewhere and sadly I cant see me returning to Al Frash in a hurry. A real shame.

The Tandoori fish was particularly good as was naan, and mushroom rice Chicken Dansak good but not outstanding.Excellent quick and polite service.Will go back.

Visiting Birmingham so wanted to go back to the Balti Triangle. Food and service both great. Definitely recommend.

Al Frash is our favourite place to eat in the country. Every time we take a trip to the north or midlands (from Reading) we detour on the way home via Ladypool Road. The food is always delicious and the service friendly, efficient and helpful. This last visit was no exception; the food was tasty and we ordered just the right amount. The atmosphere is always pleasant although a loud, arrogant know-it-all customer at the table opposite grated on us a bit. Luckily our food and the other patrons helped to drown out his tedious conversation and rude manner. To his credit, the waiter simply got on with serving everyone regardless. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Great tasting Balti, superb quality spicing and herbs. Naan breads freshly baked. Highly recommended.

My chicken Balti was great. The lamb Balti was bland despite asking for a spicy dish, hence the rating.

It's very hot only for the strong ones. But ok

It was booked on the Meerkar app, 2 for 1 for up to 6 people. When we got the bill they refused to give us the 2 for 1. He knocked off one starter and one meal for 4 people. What a rip off!!

We had a really good meal, the mains were excellent, the service was good and the price was reasonable. Watch out for the huge naans though.

Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was good and the head waiter is ready to guide you through the menu. I enjoyed the mango lassi too.

We found the restaurant quite easily, there was a small car park opposite or you could find a space in a nearby street. Pleasant greeting and attentive service and very quick. We had pappadoms and then ordered. This was all very efficient and all came out piping hot, well presented and tasted good.

Sat down at 7.30, didn’t get starters until 8.50 and mains until 9.30. Service was slow, with 2 members of staff serving a table of 17. Food was average.

Best curry I’ve had; authentic, quality, so many vegetarian options and you have the option to have your food cooked in coconut oil. Food was so fresh and delicious.

Great service - and help with the order, plus the food is always excellent and piping hot. You can take your own booze too. Recommend.

Excellent food and friendly efficient service as always. Best balti in our opinion. Although we were last in and it was pas t closing time we were not rushed and still made welcome. Also very reasonably priced.

Excellent food as always. Veg, aubergine and potato pakoras to start always satisfy. Main course chicken chilli with keema naan - best ever! Hope to be back soon.

Good friendly service, although very quiet when we visited. Have been eating here on and for years and we always have great food. starters plentiful and tasty. Baltis were good but lacked the unique smokiness that baltis are renowned for on this occasion (maybe different chef?) Still very good tho and won’t hesitate to return.

Nice enough food, clean environment. A little to salty and not enough spice or chilli heat for my taste. Value for money. Lassi was good. Service was good.
