Al Porto

Unfortunately very slow service even though it wasn't busy, would hate to think how they would struggle with more customers. Food was nice though service needs some serious attention.

Lovely place, beautiful food. Staff was really friendly and polite. The only problem was they were a bit slow serving our table . They brought half a meal and we seemed to wait a while for veg ECT.

Long wait to get menus and drinks (25mins) waitress forgot to show us the specials.( only saw them when we were leaving) food was good.

Fabulous meal with lovely setting. They even let us eat on the balcony as it was such nice weather. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who enjoys good Italian food.

The chicken in white wine was nice, but the vegetables on the side were cold. Didn't mention it as I was really hungry, but it's definitely something that could be improved.

The food was superb with a fine selection of wines. The service was professional but friendly. For anyone who wants the best in the way of fine dining then I can thoroughly recommend Al Porto. Ten out of ten and I will definitely be returning.

Good atmosphere and food. Slight worry at first as the tables had to be re-arranged to accomodate us despite having made a booking staff. The young staff were friendly, attentive and professional.

The Food was Amazing and has a great atmosphere. the staff made us feel very welcomed. Cant wait to go back again to try some more of their amazing menu

A very quiet sitting, only two other tables to be served and yet mistakes were still made. We ordered both the starter and main from the specials board and whilst tasty didn't represent value for money. With the Ribeye special please at least serve a decent portion of sides, we received one new potato, one broccoli floret and one piece of cauliflower, not good enough

Very enjoyable experience. Never been before so didn't know what to expect. Lovely food and attentive service, would go back next time we are in Hull.

A nice freshly cooked meal served by over stretched staff. Brilliant value, great location and nice ambience. We werent affected but we watched 2 couples leave who couldn't wait to be attended to.

Very nice meal, went good Friday so it was a set seafood meal, great choices for starters and mains, didn't have room for desert, good drinks selection and a very nice setting.

We both enjoyed very tasty dishes and will both be returning in the near future for sure. Lovely feel to the place and very good service.

Nice atmosphere.Staff very attentive but not overpowering.Food very good not a typical English style Italian.Went with friends had a wonderful time.If you have mobility issues could be a problem as no lift and three flights of stairs.

Of 10 people dining, 5 made complaints. Ours was about lobster ravioli with cream/prawn sauce. It was a tomato-based sauce with chunks of red onion, so the sauce tasted only of onion and tomato and completley drowned out the flaovour of the ravioli. Service was pretty slow, so there seemed no reason for the kitchen to be ovrewhelmed. We won't be going back, which is a shame.

Good quality, well presented food. Slightly limited menu and the decor in the restaurant is a little dated. It was very quiet when we visited but staff were attentive and friendly.

Food was lovely but service wasn't as good as usual, and the menu seemed to have less choice? Maybe just a bad day for us! Great spot though and food more than made up for anything else.

Found it very average. Food was good but was expecting better, a decent pub would have served the same food. The staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough to help, and maybe they were short staff or something. However we were sat down on a table that wasn't made which I had to ask for napkins etc.. when my food was already on the table. I would have like to be sat at the table before my food arrived, ordered some drinks brought my wife over and forgot mine which I had to ask for 10mins later. and they weren't sure if they charged me correctly which they missed my starter off which they didn't know and I had to get them to recalculate the bill. However as mentioned this might be because they were short staff because they were helpfully and professional. However I probably wouldn't be rushing back.

Our second visit and not disappointed, nice atmosphere, great food and service. Excellent value for money. Would happily recommend this venue for couples or parties.

Four people sat down to dine ,four different starters main meals and three deserts ,all were exellent ,hot and well presented.welldone to staff on a busy night

This is a lively Italian restaurant in an interesting setting above the marine office. The menu offered a variety of seafood dishes, the lobster filled ravioli was delicious and there was an option of two sauces as accompaniment. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We had a very enjoyable evening and would definitely return if we were in Hull again.

Food was good. There was a good selection to choose from and good specials board. The service was extremely slow however, we were compensated for the inconvenience.

Fantastic food and wine. Especially the 20 ounce rib eye. Service could be better. Would visit again and prices not too expensive. Similar to san luca in hessle when open.

A beer was added to our bill which we did not have and spoilt the otherwise excellent experience the staff were very polite and attentive and removed it straight away

Was a lovely meal, we had bruschetta for starters this was very different to others it was quite a thick like panini bread not really toasted would of preferred it thin and toasty but was ok we still ate it and enjoyed, I had halibut was just right in portion size very tasty, husband had ribeye steak cooked to his taste & they both came with a small portion of veg that was also very nice would go back again, staff were very friendly 😃

Starters and main courses were excellent especially the delicious bread and the beautifully cooked fillet steak. Water was automatically offered but we had to ask for a wine menu. The puddings were disappointing, all mass produced variations on a cheesecake/mousse theme, but that may have been because it was NYE. The setting is warm and cosy and the staff were very friendly. Overall a very enjoyable evening, would definitely return.

Pasta was overcooked and too heavy. Service not relaxing or helpful and seated at back where radiator was not working. Told by waiter that it was not cold.

We loved this restaurant. The food was great and the staff were lovely. In particular the waitress that night, 20.12.16 was really lovely. We would definitely eat here again. It's not cheap but worth every penny.

Food was very good however the speed of the service let it down. Never got to see the dessert menu we asked for despite it being quiet at the end of the night

First visit to Al Porto and it is not what I would call a traditional Italian restaurant. Food was average and the service was less than attentive.

The food was very good and the restaurant was very nice. The stair well to the restaurant felt like your were going to an office. That needed work but everything else was lovely. I would go back. X

busy restaurant with friendly atmosphere. Efficient and helpful staff. We didn't feel our main course was as good as previous visits, but was still enjoyable.

good service and great food, would have been a 6 but they didn't take off the £40 deposit we had paid on the bill we had to ask for it to be removed.

wonderful location and enjoyable atmosphere. The service was somewhat disappointing. We were sitting for over a half hour before our order was taken. And no apology followed. The wine was very good. The main dish was very good. The starters were disappointing

The service was good, The meals were presented excellently and we all enjoyed the evening we will be going again and we are all looking forward to our next vist

Meal was lovely, warm welcoming place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, would recommend a visit, four of us went and enjoyed our meal and drinks there.

Excellent service and delicious food. Tiramisu best ever. Very good value. Most unprepossessing entrance but definitely worth the climb. My partner had the seafood risotto which was delicious as was my chicken dish.

As usual It was wonderful. My favourite restaurant, love coming here. Wonderful staff, wonderful food. Took my mum for her birthday, she loved it too.

Excellent Food, Excellent Service . From the moment we arrived we were all made to feel very welcome . One of the top eating experiences in Hull
