Everything was very good but the restaurant looked a little tired. The entrance didn't look inviting and the ladies loo could do with a lick of paint. Excellent hand drier. The food and service were superb.
Really enjoyed the evening. The food was lovely and the staff were polite, friendly and attentive. It is a cosy and romantic venue and really felt right in the listed warehouse building. Will definitely be going back :-)
very good food, well priced. would've preferred homemade pasta but can't win them all. the antipasti sharing platter for 2 was lovely and was a good portion
Great food, but somewhat dated menu comprising of items that would not be out of place in 1976 such as Steak Diane and Glack Forest Gateaux. The surroundings are ok, again a bit dated. I'm always dubious of a place that needs to post the local newspaper review blown up to A2 size in a frame within the restaurant itself. Staff are extremely friendly.
Fantastic food, fantastic service, wonderful all round. Came with team from work who all went away singing praises. Would go again and recommend to others.
walked in to be immediately welcomed and shown to table. manager came over to talk to us, staff friendly, ordered food , mussels in white wine were beautiful and rib eye steak succulent, large ,tasty would definitely recommend, lovely surroundings, will definitely be returning.
Can't knock the food it was very tasty ...... Only thing was we arrived at 19.30didn't get seated till 19.50 . I wouldn't say it was packed it is a small place and looked normal for a Saturday night . The wait between the starter and main was around an hour wait we had to remind the staff that we were waiting for our main which took a further 10 minutes... service was ok nothing special .
One of the waitresses was quite rude and abrupt; not something you expect in a restaurant. My dish was not as described by the manager. My wife's steak was tough and chewy; again, not what you expect when you're paying good money. We were recommended this place by a friend. Very disappointed.
visited with my partner on a Monday night, was fairly busy. Food was amazing and equally so were the staff. So welcoming and attentive. Definitely recommend
The food was very good. The service was excellent although the decor was a little dark & dated. However, we will definitely be going back.
Friendly attentive service, excellent cooking, good-quality house wine and a nice view of the marina. My wife and I really enjoyed our pre-theatre meal in the UK City of Culture.
The Food was fine, service ok, ambiance good, but a few of the food choices we asked for weren't available on the night, so a little disappointing.
Amazing food and good service. Would recommend it to friends and family and love to go back there again with friends and family. My only concern is the parking as they dont have own parking space, aside from that everything is great.
We visited this restaurant last night for the first time with two of our best friends we found it very welcoming Three of our party fancied a main course as a starter and this was done for them as a smaller version which we all thought was great service The food was excellent with service with a smile. The house red was very nice and a t a good price The staff definitely aim to please We will visit again soon
Food was excellent, but the service left something to be desired. When your starter is given to another table, then things are not right. Especially when no apology was forthcoming.
Starter and main were lovely; I had goats cheese and then meatballs. The dessert was very disappointing however (chocolate cheesecake). The service was very slow: they took 20 minutes to get drinks and then they came and were wrong! The staff didn't seem to know a lot about the dishes which made it hard to decide on food. They then charged us for the wrong meal so we had to get a new bill.
A top class meal in great surroundings. The staff were very attentive and informative. I highly recommend Al Porto to anyone looking for a quality Italian meal in this area of Hull.
Unfortunately our visit to Al Porto was very disappointing. It took 1.5 hours from ordering to receiving our meals, which were not up to the standard we had previously. They halved our bill, which indicates how bad the experience was! A real shame, as it had been good on previous occasions.
Unfortunately very slow service even though it wasn't busy, would hate to think how they would struggle with more customers. Food was nice though service needs some serious attention.
Excellent food and great service. Possibly the best lasagne I've ever had. Nice atmosphere inside. I would definitely recommend Al Porto. I can't wait to go again.
Great food and good service. Would visit again. The range of fish dishes for the Good Friday event was tramendos. Easy parking in the street.
The food was superb with a fine selection of wines. The service was professional but friendly. For anyone who wants the best in the way of fine dining then I can thoroughly recommend Al Porto. Ten out of ten and I will definitely be returning.
The chicken in white wine was nice, but the vegetables on the side were cold. Didn't mention it as I was really hungry, but it's definitely something that could be improved.
Long wait to get menus and drinks (25mins) waitress forgot to show us the specials.( only saw them when we were leaving) food was good.
Lovely place, beautiful food. Staff was really friendly and polite. The only problem was they were a bit slow serving our table . They brought half a meal and we seemed to wait a while for veg ECT.
Good atmosphere and food. Slight worry at first as the tables had to be re-arranged to accomodate us despite having made a booking staff. The young staff were friendly, attentive and professional.
Fabulous meal with lovely setting. They even let us eat on the balcony as it was such nice weather. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who enjoys good Italian food.
The Food was Amazing and has a great atmosphere. the staff made us feel very welcomed. Cant wait to go back again to try some more of their amazing menu
A very quiet sitting, only two other tables to be served and yet mistakes were still made. We ordered both the starter and main from the specials board and whilst tasty didn't represent value for money. With the Ribeye special please at least serve a decent portion of sides, we received one new potato, one broccoli floret and one piece of cauliflower, not good enough
Wonderful, cosy place. Staff were very friendly. There was plenty to chose from on the menu and the food was absolutely delicious!! Will definitely be going back
Very enjoyable experience. Never been before so didn't know what to expect. Lovely food and attentive service, would go back next time we are in Hull.
A nice freshly cooked meal served by over stretched staff. Brilliant value, great location and nice ambience. We werent affected but we watched 2 couples leave who couldn't wait to be attended to.
Great cosy Italian restaurant with great food. Only reason it hasn't recieved full marks is because the drinks are very pricey. But a great restaurant and lovely atmosphere
superb venue, menu, selection, staff, wine list, highly recommended from someone who dines out 3 times a week keep up the good work guys and ladies very well done indeed
We both enjoyed very tasty dishes and will both be returning in the near future for sure. Lovely feel to the place and very good service.
Very nice meal, went good Friday so it was a set seafood meal, great choices for starters and mains, didn't have room for desert, good drinks selection and a very nice setting.
Nice atmosphere.Staff very attentive but not overpowering.Food very good not a typical English style Italian.Went with friends had a wonderful time.If you have mobility issues could be a problem as no lift and three flights of stairs.
Of 10 people dining, 5 made complaints. Ours was about lobster ravioli with cream/prawn sauce. It was a tomato-based sauce with chunks of red onion, so the sauce tasted only of onion and tomato and completley drowned out the flaovour of the ravioli. Service was pretty slow, so there seemed no reason for the kitchen to be ovrewhelmed. We won't be going back, which is a shame.
Excellent service and excellent food, making it a very enjoyable evening,we will definitely be coming back , we shall be recommending Al Porto to family and friends
Lovely food and great service. Had a good evening. Very quiet on the Sunday night we ate at the restaurant. Highly recommend the place to all.
