Both my husband and I really enjoyed our visit to the Alma da Cuba. The building is amazing and the food was really delicious and the singers added to the ambiance. We would definitely go again.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Stunning building with great views of the dance floor below. Hosts were very efficient and service was really quick. Would definitely recommend!
Had 3 courses and all three were cooked and presented well. Service was attentive without being pushy. Only negative was the the room temperature was too high by ten. But overall very good.
Great surroundings in an old building that used to be a church. The menu seemed to be a bit reduced, maybe being boxing day. There was no information about this, but the menu on the website seemed to have quite a few more options than what we experienced. However the food we ordered was delicately served and met our expectations. Good cocktails and nice staff. Thought, maybe the girl at the front desk seemed a bit uninterested and the waiters almost a bit "overeager" to be of service. However this is to be preferred to waiters not seeing you at all...
We had our Christmas dinner out for the first time. The atmosphere was just as it should have been. There was a gospel choir singing....food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Will be going back again and would definitely recommend the Alma De Cuba to anyone looking for a Christmas dinner out with a great festive atmosphere. Well done.
Arrived a little late for our Sunday brunch reservation, but no problem and very nice Food and good service. I’d recommend this for a traditional Sunday dinner.
The service was very good with the exception of one girl who didn't seem to understand English. The main course was very nice but did not have enough vegetables with it (I had the Salmon). The starter of goat's cheese mousse and ciabatta and tomato was awful. The ciabatta didn't seem fresh, the mousse was just some kind of mix of creme fraiche and goats cheese. The tomatoes were tasteless and had just been lightly grilled or something. The gospel choir was a good as ever though I was disappointed they didn't sing some of their best songs like Hallelujah.
We had fabulous time at Alma De Cuba. The atmosphere was fantastic and the food was really good. Yorkshire pudding made me feel really happy :) The gospel choir could not emphasize more the feeling of Christmas. The downside was definitely the amount of lamb on my plate haha and tap water stinking of chlorine. It was served automatically after arrival.
Amazing food and atmosphere as always, great festive menu and very fast and friendly service
The choir was later than advertised, we had booked to coincide, so was a little disappointed. They were fabulous as was Alma de Cuba! X
It was Sunday. But the service was bad and the food didnt taste good. The price on the food didnot match the food. Not a night to remember.
Loved it. Will be going again Food amazing. Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere and staff were fabulous. Never rushed allowed to sit back eat amazing food enjoy your company and listen to talaented people sing.
We tried to get a table for 2 days and were turned away every time (by phone and in person) I went online and found a link to the restaurant through Quandoo and they had loads of tables available??? so booked though Quandoo and waltzed straight in. It was really average! The service was average, Food was average, music was good, toilets were horrible, one for all the men and one for all the ladies (you can imagine what they looked like in a 200+ seater restaurant) The place smelt of armpit when we went in and it is currently undergoing building work. If you want something really nice there is a Bistro a 20 meter walk from their front door called Wreckfish. We ate there as well and it knocks the sock off in every aspect but the food, blows you away. Make your own mind up, but for me it's no contest.
We had starters, steaks and cheese board, all of which was excellent both in quality of ingredients and cooking. Friendly, efficient staff and good entertainment for after dinner.
Excellent service and very good food. Me and my husband will come back if we visit Liverpool again. Love to you all and special love to Kevin
Nice place with good music and a great drinks menu, however the food was only ok one of the meals was only just warm when it was brought out
Lovely to catch up with friends, great food, service and a gorgeous venue. We had a fabulous evening, cocktails, table service, music and caberette dancers👌🏻
Good food and service. Nice cocktails and not expensive. Fab interior. Would def go back on a busier night. Staff were all very nice and helpful.
Great place, great atmosphere. Food was excellent and the staff were brilliant, very attentive and friendly. Added bonus of samba and voodoo shows. Will definitely be going back !!
Fabulous night.... service, food and entertainment.... we spent most of the evening dancing around the tables upstairs, everyone was having a fantastic evening the atmosphere was fab
Nice food disappointing the dancers were not on till 10pm. Had a 7pm table so would of been good to have them on all night.
Nicely decorated restaurant. The service was very good and the food was excellent specially the grilled steaks and the mushrooms! Definitely a place to return.
4 for Gospel lunch on Sunday, celebrating 3 birthdays but the overall experience was disappointing. Firstly, It is not prevalent on website that the premises are under renovation (this is hidden in "news" tab and then on 2nd page) and that you cannot see the famous vaulted ceiling . On the 1st floor you have to go past a dish washing area to reach the 1 ladies loo, There was a fall near our table where the carpet didn't quite meet the floor and the final straw was uncooked vegetable on the roast dinners that the knife couldn't cut through. We spoke to waiter and had to suggest to him that he brought a bowl for the table to share as he didn't seem to know what to do. I have given a generous 3 as the Gospel choir were outstanding but had I not been here before, I would not recommend or return.
The services wasn’t great. Nobody seemed to come to the table, so we always had to get the attention of the waiter / waitress. I thought the food could of been better for the price you are paying. I also booked Alma De Cuba because I thought there would be entertainment and dancing, but there wasn’t anything.
Great food and and a fabulous atmosphere created by the gospel choir . Fantastic choice of drinks; staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and friendly
The atmosphere was good, the food was lovely really enjoyed the short time was was there, as the service was very quick three course meal done in 45 minutes also bit too dark !
Lovely building, great cocktails (not the usual watered down rubbish you get in some places) and wonderful food! The scallop starter and the lamb main are to die for. The staff are very friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Me and my partner had a lovely meet at alma da Cuba last night, been here many times and always enjoy it, staff are friendly and nice chilled atmosphere.
Very cold and the fillet steak whilst tasty was not proper fillet. We went early so it was very quiet so did not get a real feel for the atomosphere but the heating had not been working and it was icy cold which was a shame
The food was brilliant. The staff were friendly. The venue is beautiful. The gospel singers were unreal. Loved every bit of it. Would come again in a heart beat
Really great food and service as always. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was busy but not too loud.
I am from Birmingham and brought my partner to Liverpool for his birthday and booked this restaurant weeks in advance. I have been before and had a fantastic experience so was very excited. We arrived and there was clearly ongoing building work, which we were not made aware of prior to our visit. We were greeted politely but got seated at a side table on the peripheral of the room. We asked to move and then got seated next to a health and safety construction poster where it was very dark and we could not see the menu, or the famous venue itself. We asked to move again, and after 5 mins were finally seated in the main area of the restaurant. It was much better but still clear signs of building work with wires hanging from the ceiling and scaffolding clearly evident. The starter was amazing! But we both had steaks and they were tough but continued to try and enjoy our evening as it was for a birthday occasion. We did complain and the manager did give us a discount which we were greatful for. And his customer service was excellent as was our waitress. However we would have liked to have been informed of the construction work before our visit. I would not visit again untill the construction work is complete.
Good food, good service. Shame about the work thats going on! Should have closed and done the work asap! Then have a launch night!
Great atmosphere helped by the gospel singers, made Sunday lunch a real event. Would have been a 6 if the building work was finished, so will be returning when it is!
Service was excellent with the staff both friendly and helpful. Food was really, really good with all five of our party happy with their choice. We were told that one of our food choices would require a while longer than the others so if we thought we had been forgotten then it wasn't the case. Don't always get that so that was a nice touch.
The restaurant itself is lovely however the service let’s it down. We had numerous waiters and we waited for a long time for our main course. Shame. On a positive note the food was nice.
We had a lovely meal at Alma De Cuba and the cocktails are fantastic. The music was a bit too loud but they turned it down for us.
Food was okay but over priced for what it was - almost £200 for 5 . Room was unpleasantly cold and we couldn’t wait to get out to somewhere warmer. Wouldn’t go back
We booked for sunday brunch 5pm and heard some of the fantastic gospel singers.Wished we had booked earlier.Had the most amazing chicken roast dinner. Only one complaint,it was soi dark at the table I couldnt see what I was eating so moved.
The food was good and the service. We have few allergies and they were so helpful. The menu was really good, something for everyone. The gospel choir was amazing but very loud. We couldn't chat while they were singing. We will definitely come back.
Lovely atmosphere, staff was pleasant and attentive food amazing my only fault bit dark to read menu and is quite cold in the building had to wear coat during dinner
Nice staff, nice food, we were informed that they were going some work, would like to go back when they are in full swing, menu different than on the website, I'd already picked my meal and then it wasn't on the menu, found something else but it wasn't my first choice
First time visiting liverpool and a friend recommended this restaurant. The food was up there with one of the tastiest meals I ve ever had. It was delicious. The cocktails were very nice too. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent love this place worth a trip to Liverpool. Will be back
Amazing setting for a restaurant. Food perfect, although not much choice. Bit expensive but worth it for the atmosphere. Had plenty of staff on but still seemed to be a bit rushed.
Truly surprising restaurant that is a joy to look at. Went for Sunday brunch and everything was fantastic. Food, staff and gospel singers. Definitely worth a visit
Great atmosphere with really good food and cocktails! Would definitely go again next time in Liverpool.
We were a 5 person group who they clearly didn’t mind neglecting. We were cramped onto a 4 person wobbly table, and the chairs resembled garden furniture. I appreciate they are renevating however this restaurant is definitely not what it used to be and we will not be returning. We didn’t stay to eat and walked out. Very disappointing.
Awesome atmosphere. Nice food nice wine ...... lovely beer and just great as always
. . . . Great as per usual lovely gospel choir
