Antico Restaurant

Really lovely food, great service - all staff very friendly and welcoming. Authentic Italian food - serves up dishes I have not seen elsewhere. Highly recommend and would like to return one day.

Always spot on! Last night they surpassed themselves with the best fillet steak ever - cooked to absolute perfection, it simply melted in my mouth! Not to mention the immense salted caramel cheesecake - to die for!!!

Anticipate is consistently good. Good Italian food, great service in a comfortable environment where, thank god, you can actually hear what people are saying to you!!

I think this is the best restraunt in the Newcastle upon Tyne area by far.great choice of food and drinks at prices that are fair

Second visit this week once with a group of friends and once with family both times we where looked after by friendly staff and given great food

This is our favourite Italian restaurant . The food is gorgeous and the staff excellent. The new menu is lush and very good value for money. Just love the place.

Food and cleanliness excellent the service was a little slow however very pleasant the and red wine selection not as full bodied as we like 😊

6 members of our family had Sunday lunch at Antico and ,as always, it was a delicious meal and a memorable occasion thanks to the friendly, attentive staff. one of our favourite places to eat!

Staff very polite and didn't rush us off our table, even though we were the last to leave. The food was great and reasonable price, would recommend.

Always a great night, great choice on menu but always willing to try and accommodate special requests. Chris is spot on with his wine recommendations. At the moment this is our restaurant of choice.

My meal was given to another table in error. Then had to Waite 20 minutes while the rest of my table ate. No explication given or apology. No recompense offered. Could hear staff screaming at each other in kitchen. Will not rush back. What a shame.

Friendly service, excellent food. Restaurant was full and all received personal attention and all seemed very happy. First visit but unlikely to be the last.

Beautiful surroundings, good location, friendly staff and food delicious. Good range of beers and wines. My favourite restaurant at the moment. Cant wait to return. On slight drawback - car parking can be an issue as no dedicated car park.

We loved the place, cosey and elegant. The staff is super kind and polite. Food is of high quality, we had both pasta and pizza and they were very nice (we are Italian so we can tell).

Good food, the wine maybe wasn't the only bad thing. The service was great and the staff is very polite and is able to create a good atmosphere.

Good Italian restaurant with good selection of options reflecting traditional cooking rather than a pizza and pasta style alone. Option of early bird menu. Conveniently situated for pre theatre eating.

It was excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming, the service was efficient but unobtrusive and the food was lovely. I went with two friends and we agreed we had had a super evening.

Friendly, efficient staff. We were shown to our table straight away. We ordered a bottle of chianti classico and a jug of iced water. I had a fish skewer to start with and my husband scallops. Both tasted lovely. We both had fillet steaks with peppercorn sauce which came with a small portion of vegetables. The steaks were cooked to perfection . We finished off with espressos and limoncello liquer. The restaurant was fairly busy with a buzzing atmosphere and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. The bill came to just under £100. It was a very enjoyable meal and we would like to go back and maybe try a pasta or pizza next time.

Fabulous proper Italian food and I should know being Italian.... but the kind of food we go to restaurants for rather than cook at home for ourselves. great ambience and friendly service too!

Lovely meal in a lovely restaurant. We started with calamari and the goats cheese on red peppers. We then had the chef's specials of lamb shank and clams with pasta. The whole meal was delicious and the staff were pleasant and friendly as usual.

Great food & service, relaxing atmosphere, not cheap but reasonably priced. Really nice evening, offering traditional Italian pasta dishes and really nice steak, fish & chicken too. Well worth a visit

On a very busy evening when there really wasn't any room at all they managed to squeeze 2 extra guests in. Very attentive and friendly. Top marks and we will return.

Love the place. Go there regularly. Maybe my favourite italien restaurant in Newcastle. Really good food and wine, amazing service and atmosphere, one must definitely go there.

I have never been disappointed with the food or service at Antico. The atmosphere is lovely, the music is never loud, unlike other restaurants i have been to. Staff are always attentive, only maybe one very small point, i think the meals are just slightly rushed, i do like to wait a little after my starter before main meal comes, but that is just a communication thing with the staff to say can i have little more time before main meal. But i would recommend Antico to family and friends and work colleagues known they will be have lovely food.

When we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful, the menu was a good mix of options and the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The service was very good and the food was excellent, overall it was a really great night and I would recommend Antico and we will certainly be visiting again. Dave

Although it was an early booking on a Thursday there was a nIce atmosphere as the restaurant was almost full.Lovely food, reasonably priced and very pleasant staff.

Great little italian restraurant, does the usual italian fayre very well (pizza and pasta). The bread and olives are amazing value, very much enjoyed the prawn starter.

Received a very warm welcome, offered drinks and had the Specials described to us. This was followed by excellent service of delicious food - wonderful main courses & desserts.

Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere. Food was good and large portions for a very reasonable price compared to other restaurants in Jesmond. Would definitely visit again :)

Fantastic restaurant. Food is really fresh, you can tell no frozen food used. Staff are really friendly, they even provided reading glasses to help with the menu!! Nice welcome, great food!

So happy with Antico. We had a wonderful time, the food is delicous, the service is extremely friendly and professional, prices are better than reasonable and the atmosphere is perfect for a nice calm dinner with friends as well as for a romantic date. Definitely would recommend and will be coming back soon.

Booked the table for 8.30 got seated just before 9 was very busy. Food was excellent and the waiters were very friendly. Definitely will go back

Food excellent, but took far too long to get it. It was very busy, and the staff were good, but there just didn't seem to be enough of them.

A very nice atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was reasonable quality - but good for the price. All in all a nice evening meal.

Fantastic food, great friendly service. Steak was amazing. Thoroughly recommend. Parking is tricky but we did find somewhere close by. Appears clean. Will come again.
