Good food and helpful staff. We enjoyed our experience at Avanti and will return before too long. The only negative was that they got the bill wrong but this was quickly rectified.

Had a lovely meal here. Service was a little quick between courses but the food was excellent. The limoncello spritzed was very nice. Safety would return.

Lovely Italian food in a friendly bustling atmosphere redolent of 60's New York, with pictures of Frankie and Dean on the walls and their classic tunes playing in the background. Good selection of starters, pizzas, pastas and mains and not overpriced. Staff very helpful and friendly. Not our first visit and certainly not our last!

absolutely lovely little place - very friendly staff meal served quickly and very reasonable prices - nice background music and low lighting - will definitely be back in the future .

Not as good as usual. During our meal there were a lot of tables being moved about to accommodate a large group booking. Some people were actually moved while having a meal. I wasn't affected that badly but the whole experience had a chaotic feel to it.

Good food, excellent value, friendly staff, good welcome. The review would have had top marks except for a very long wait between finishing our main course and getting the dessert menu.

Love this place a proper Italian Restaurant. Wonderful food, excellent value for money, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Perfect. The speciality pizzas are gorgeous and worth paying that little bit extra for.

This is a lovely little restaurant with a good atmosphere, very friendly. The food is good and reasonably priced. Near to Metro station for anyone not wanting to drive. Well worth a visit.

We visited Avantis regularly until we moved to London four years ago. Now we try to visit each time we are in Newcastle. It still is our favourite restaurant. Last night's meal was delicious. My husband said his calzone was second to none. Staff so welcoming and helpful which really adds to the occasion. I would particularly like to thank the chef as our daughter has a severe intolerance to gluten. He made her a gluten free sauce specially and was so helpful about her choices. We will be returning in the summer!

Top quality food perfectly presented. Drinks on the house at the end of the meal were a pleasant surprise.

Really nice restaurant with great service and selection of food at really reasonable prices! Perfect location in Jesmond and right near the to metro stop.

Food was lovely, opted for the meatballs starter 2 meatballs covered in a spicy Napoli sauce with bruschetta to mop up the sauce and for a main opted for the steak stroganoff, again nice tender chunks of steak is a creamy paprika sauce served with rice and chips! Oh I wished I had enough room for a desert, next time!

Friendly and helpful. This family run restaurant is a little gem . After several years of living away from the north east it was a great pleasure to return to Avanti.

I went with a longtime friend. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and friendly. We both had pizza, I had the Marco Polo and my friend had a Calzone. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced.

Great atmosphere but tables too close together. Food was fairly average. One of our party had beef stroganoff but was unable to eat it because the beef was so tough. It was taken off our bill though.

This was our first visit to Avanti,chosen by granddaughter who had been there before. We received a warm welcome from nice staff. Food was excellent, service good. Atmosphere excellent. We shall return! p.s. Do book it was busy(Saturday evening)

The service was great, the food was out fast a day it was of great quality. It was great that when me and a friend wanted to go half and half with our meals, they sorted that out for us in the kitchen.

Avanti is small, family run local restaurant in a traditional Italian style. The service is always prompt and friendly. Great food at a reasonable price.

We booked an early Saturday night meal at short notice and were not disappointed by our visit. Although they had a very reasonable early evening menu available we selected from the a la carte and were very happy with what we had. Accompanied by a very nice bottle of wine and great friendly service, we had a really good dining experience and will be back!

The restaurant was booked for a birthday meal for myself, my husband and daughter. We all had a starter and a main course, all of which were delicious.

Very authentic Italian family run Restaurant which I prefer . Staff very attentive without being in your face. the whole service and food was better than I expected and would highly recommend.
