Good food, but the service was rather bad. We were left waiting at the bar for a table for almost 45mins with four or five empty tables available.

The food was great, but it was very pricey at 20+ pounds for the "undecided" . Overall though, just about with the money (but doesn't feel like it when you after paying for 6)... :-)

Nice local spot for a really good Sunday lunch. It's a sunday pop-up restaurant in a local pub with a unique atmosphere. The food is great!

It is a bit hidden away in a small pub, but searching for it and finding it is definitely worth your while - great roast and very helpful staff who allowed us to stay in a heaving place for almost four hours. Brilliant!

The food was really good, but it was in a pub, after being advertised as a Pop-Up project... a bit disappointing. Bloody Marries were weak.

I've been for the roast last Sunday, the pork belly was really good, above expectations. People are also super nice.

Best roast dinner in London! Excellent and friendly staff. Cool pop idea set in quirky east London location, the Lamb & Lion pub. Great Bloody Marys and the pork belly is outstanding!

I was coming from France to experience an authentic sunday roast. When we arrived at the address stated on the website we were met with a sign that said that it was located at the Lion and the Lamb (a modest looking pub around the corner - nothing at all like I had imagined or that was indicated on the website). It was very run down and dirty looking but perhaps a favourite for the locals. The staff were friendly, so we thought we would give it a go. I ordered a nut roast and was disappointed. The nut roast was more of a lentil and rice filled slice. It was not appetising and I didn't taste any nuts at all. The roast potatoes were VERY dry and the rest of the veggies were passable but nothing special. I would not recommend this pub for a sunday roast to anyone.

couldn't have been worse. waitress forgot our order. then food was over an hour to come. my food was cold, they took it away and blitzed it in the microwave. I had 1.5 potatoes on my plate an half a leaf of cabbage, very disappointing meal and nowhere near worth £15 a plate. The food itself was tasty enough but ruined by the experience. Grumpy staff too. Grunted a response to me when I asked to remove the service charge from the bill.

Great roast - I would recommend for a Sunday lunch. Unfortunately the venue had moved so it was v difficult to find. This should be clear when booking and on their website!

Lovely roast! Eapecially the angus beef! The chicken were a little dry (was given a breast) and the roast potato were a little hard too. Definitely go back there again for the beef!

I liked Bacchus when it was a gastropub on Hoxton Street, so I was disappointed by their pop up Sunday roast. Portion was modest rather than generous, with very little vegetable. Three bits of roast potato, three baby carrots, two pieces of beet root, each the size of a pound coin and a tablespoon of overcooked braised shredded cabbage. The roast garlic on the menu didn't materialize on my plate. I had the pork belly which was okay, although the crackling was tough rather than crisp. My companions had the lamb and complained there was too much fat that needed to be cut away. Potatoes, being smothered in gravy were not crisp. Worse still, they had that telltale grainy texture associated with reheated potatoes. The big fluffy Yorkshires that accompanyied the lamb were the best part of the meal.

The food was barely warm and the service was perfunctuary. We had been looking forward to this and were hugely disappointed. In our opinion it's overrated, but perhaps we caught them on a bad day?
