great food as always, if you are looking for good food, great service with fantastic prices then this is a gem in Edinburgh not to be missed.
Lovely restaurant and the food was delicious. Very reasonably priced menu and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back. Highly recommended.
Very generous portions, reasonable prices, and delicious pasta and sauces. Definitely a good value, although lacking somewhat in terms of ambiance, at least upstairs. Worth a visit!
Good food reasonably priced. Excellent service even though very busy, did not wait long to be served, and no long wait between courses. Have already recommended to friends and family
The restaurant provided an excellent three course lunch for a very competitive price. The quality of the food was good, the service was prompt and polite, and the surroundings were pleasant.
Great value for money. Service excellent, nothing too much trouble, my favourite for a late lunch or dinner. Looking forward to our next visit soon.
Cheerful friendly staff. Excellent value for money. My friends starter was not thoroughly cooked when pointed out to waiter it was swiftly retrieved and promptly replaced with good grace and no fuss.
Fantastic meal and great staff! Restaurant was busy but staff were still great. Garlic pizza bread was amazing as was house white wine. Will be back!
3 course lunch menu worth the money although the peach crumble wasn't great as the crumble was like a brick and inedible. Service was good
Great food at a great price with very friendly staff. I will definitely be back. Always a good idea to book as bar Napoli is always busy.
Great authentic Italian cuisine. Service was great as well and little time in waiting for your meal. Highly recommend it and the menu provides a great variety of Italian food.
A bit noisy - OK lots of folk talking but background music so loud that people talk louder ..... Food good and reasonable value. Service a bit slow when we first arrived but improved.
Busy - and deceptively bigger restaurant than it looks from outside. Busy restaurant - atmospheric and reasonably priced. the up side - the service was very good - the down size - food was pretty average - nothing special.
The meal was very good and great value for money. My friends and I were allowed to sit for as long as we liked after we finished our meal.
Went on a Sunday night. It was lovely food and very fast service, and all for a very reasonable price. The staff weren't most friendly but they weren't rude either. Would recommend.
Good was good and service very good. Only negative was the very cramped space. Tables too close to each other. Good value lunch menu with plenty of choice.
Charming and helpful staff and excellent food. Wine was also excellent at a very reasonable price. We have visited this restaurant on several occasions and never been disappointed.
Excellent food, efficient service, genuine Italian buzz, really enjoyable evening. Have booked to go again in three days time. Prices on menu and wine list very reasonable.
Great value and service as usual - table ready for us and on time on a busy Saturday . We visit Edinburgh regularly and always book here
I enjoyed a very nice business lunch with a colleague. We booked a couple of days in advance, the service was good and the food was good and excellent value.
Food was fabulous. Huge portions- Amazing value for money. Restaurant was incredibly busy which resulted in the waiter being a little on the grumpy side.
A bargain at £6.75 for a 3 course lunch with loads of choices on their special lunch menu. The house red wine was very good as well. It is over 20 years since I was last in this restaurant. I will not leave it as long until my next visit. Overall, a very pleasant lunch experience.
As always, Bar Napoli lived up to expectations. Excellent service, wonderful food and a fabulous atmosphere. Background music is exactly that - in the background to allow friends to have a good chat whilst eating. Our trips to Edinburgh wouldn't be complete without a visit to Bar Napoli.
Ok food that was not overly priced. However, service was pretty awful - seemed to be the manager. Doesn't take much to be polite. Also, only offered Parmesan and pepper half way in to our main courses.
Excellent food and service, staff were friendly and attentive and great value fir money considering we were city centre. We stayed in Elder York Guest House so the restaurant was about 5 mins walk and also walking to The Playhouse. Would definitely return if I go back to Edinburgh.
Food was very good. There are a few other dishes we would like to try so we will be back. Really enjoyed the garlic rosemary pizza bread.
Staff very friendly, and food very tasty, with plenty of it! Homemade cake was a great pudding. Overall a pleasant experience we will repeat in the near future.
The food in Bar Napoli is always delicious. I was a little bit disappointed with the service this time and the waiter could have been a bit friendlier. We also asked to move tables as we were crushed in the corner seat. The restaurant was empty but we were told all other tables were reserved. We also had a reservation so what was stopping them swapping tables?? They did eventually after a bit of persuasion and being told we had to be out by a certain time. It didn't spoil out meal though as we had great company!!
Really enjoyed the time that we've spent there. Lovely food and really big portions. Could not be better :) we have ordered antipasti and two different pastas. Everything was delicious. Thank you:)
Food was okay, it was the grumpy non communicative waiter which I didn't appreciate. I had ribs to start, no offer of a wipe or finger bowl to clean my hands. He brightened up a bit when handing me the bill, but clearly me and my son w
Lovely place and great value for money, the lunch menu is worth looking at. The staff are friendly and the place was busy. Our lunch was lovely and will definitely be back.
A lovely place to meet friends whilst not breaking the bank. Today we had a most attentive waiter but unfortunately the food was not hot.
Really busy little restaurant, had to wait a bit to get a table but the rugby might have had something to do with the busyness. Staff were friendly, food was delicious, came quickly and was reasonably priced.
Excellent food and the loveliest food in great price. You can't not fall in love with this place. Great selection of wines and pizzas. I'd especially recommend home baked bread.
The food was Lovely and they had a great selection. Everything was reasonably priced and there was a really nice ambience in the place. The service was good and we are looking forward to our next visit.
Up to the usual standard. Excellent place for a good, cheap, quick lunch. It gets busy so best to book in advance especially at weekends
Delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Staff could have been more friendly however. They were rather impatient. Still a great place for a filling Italian meal!
Great - as usual. Cheap & cheerful but 3 courses for £6.75 what more could you ask for. This is about our 5th visit & it's always been excellent.
We booked a table for our wedding anniversary for 8.00pm. On arrival we had to wait for a table as our booked table was not ready for us. We both ordered fillet steak stroganoff with papardelle. The "alleged" fillet steak was so tough we could not cut it never mind chew it. We mentioned this to the waiter when he was clearing our table and he could see we had eaten very little. To his credit he immediately said he would not charge for the main courses, only the bottle of wine. He said they would take this up with their suppliers, Campbells, regarding the quality of meat. The overall experience spoiled our anniversary evening and we shall certainly not be returning to Bar Napoli. We live in Inverness and have been twice previoulyl to Bar Napoli when the experience was much better. A long way to go for such a disappointing evening.
Amazing food and attentive waiters. Authentic and rustic Italian setting! Pizza was to die for and the pasta was the same. Very reasonably priced for quality and being in the centre of town! Will be back again! The noise was loud but we didn't struggle to hear each other! It added to the atmosphere I felt.
