Very enjoyable meal to celebrate our daughter’s Graduation at Durham. Will definitely come again.

Busy graduation week but made to feel welcome and nothing too much trouble. They even adapted a dish on the specials board to suit me. This is a delightful, authentic Italian restaurant.

First time visit & won't be our last. Cannot believe we haven't visited before. Food excellent,waiters attentive & atmosphere small & cosy. I would go as far as saying this is now our favourite Italian outside of Italy.

Grat atmosphere and hard working staff. Waited over an hour for starter but staff were honest and admitted my order had not been placed and apologised for mistake. Very busy so appreciate things can go wrong. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, geeat selection of fish, drinks arrived very quickly and reasonably priced. House wine very decent and nice selection available. Would deffinately go back

Great food and service, the waiter even loaned us his glasses and turned the lighting up as we'd forgotten ours and couldn't read the menu!

Only the 2nd time we’d been and we were greeted so warmly. The food was really good with lots of choice and things could be changed or substituted with no hassle. They even said if we wanted something that wasn’t on the menu they would do their best to make it. Atmosphere was lovely and the staff were really friendly and attentive. The wine was beautiful. We had a fantastic evening and will definitely be making it a regular place to eat. Thanks to everybody at Bistro Italiano, we loved it!

Very good sharing platter to start with - supposedly for 2 people but easily did us for 4 as we did not want big starter portions. We always enjoy our visits. This time we had 2 guests from Australia with us. They had the seafood pasta and said that it was the best they had ever tasted! A successful evening.

Love this place. Amazing service, food is always fantastic too. I had the monkfish special and it might be the nicest monkfish I’ve ever had. Think I’ve been here about five times now and it never disappoints.

Not able to give a better review as the larger rear dining area was unknown to us until later on. Otherwise we really enjoyed our evening. The staff were very attentive and not obtrusive in any way. Service was at the speed we like, not too fast and no long waits although we did wonder why it took so long to prepare our meals but must have been the diners in the back room which we were unaware of. Music was far too loud and not Italian enough. Entrance and stairs to toilets very scruffy which might put some people off as kitchens are often rated alongside the condition of the toilets. Food was good and hot, obviously freshly prepared and the 3 course "deal" was excellent value. House wine was good and the selection of liqueurs was to our liking. Would definitely go again as we have a dislike of chain set ups which seem to dominate all towns these days. Support the independents we say!!
